Inception (2010)

NOT AGING WELL
10 March 2019
Inception was the greatest of all time back in 2010, now in 2019, things have changed, after hundreds of movies copying and taking even subconcious inspiration from this one, the effects starting to look odd and fake nonetheless that shouldn't matter but it bothers me still. This film is not bad, but you just have to get into a time travel machine to 2010 to enjoy it... Watch Memento instead.

I thought it was overrated...
11 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
-Stunning as a painting, many shots from this movie will stay in Film History that's for sure. -Very detailled as with the used tea bag in the sink. -Nostalgia from a simpler Mexico City that didn't lack hassels. -Mexico as real as it can get without being just a mirror to life, Cuarón is well known because of this and i find it like a breath of fresh air.

However, this Film is definetly going to be more loved by Mexicans and that's okay.

A mirror of Mexico even these days.
5 January 2019
I'm deeply delighted at how Cuarón showed us Mexico without filters, without trying to glamorize México in a Hollywood typical way. He shot the reality of Mexican towns, poor, small, maybe dirty... I'm mexican so i know, the mayority of our land looks like that, turistic places look amazing of course, facades... And talking about the characters, both boys maybe not very likeable, very immature, loud, sexheads and more important pretty much ignorants, an exact representation of such big part of the youth. This is a must see!

Rear Window (1954)

Stays fresh and new throughout the decades.
27 December 2018
I saw this movie because of a Hitchcock exposition I attended this year, it was as delightful as Rear Window. When I heard how this movie was placed, I was instantly noting it in my watchlist. Rear Window is something you don't see often in the cinema, Hitchcock had the freedom to take a "crazy" and tough idea into the work, and the fact that it's from 1954 it's mind blowing. With this film,Hitchcock was a child playing with a doll house, and he did it properly. Nonetheless, the end seemed like they had some trouble deciding in the editing room, some of those choices seemed out of the style. Anyways i would reccomend it to anyone that enjoys real cinema.

Well...
20 August 2018
Definetly not as bad as it could have been, it's a teen movie don't get your expectations high. The acting could have been better, there were some cringeworthy moments but it was also because of bad dialogue (literally all the dialogue that the dad had). In the contrary the actor that's does Josh was impressive, i think he was the best one, sadly his character doesn't unfold more. I reccomend this movie for your kids, or if you want something family friendly.

A Masterpice in times of war.
28 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This films is like no other that I've seen about World War, even though is not realistic as the other films tried to be that's is not a big deal, the BIG deal we can see in the film is how in 1940 Americans didn't know how dangerous Hitler was, they obviously saw him as crazy man but they were ignorant of the extent of Hitler's Atrocities. It's fascinating to see how in the final scene of the film, Charles Chaplin realizes that war was coming and Hitler was no joke, so he decides to write the final speech where he tries really hard to get a peace message to the world, one message that nazis and Germans could ear too, he almost begs for humanity to see the world, one world that was rotting. It's mind blowing how the speech can inspire even now in 2018, Charles Chaplin would be immortal for that.

Shameful
22 July 2018
Everything about this movie is ridiculous, cheesy, fake, exaggerated and cringeworthy. It is really shameful that people gave money for this movie to be make. And the scenes that portray Yucatán... ugh I can't even as a native...

The Promise (II) (2016)

Just promising...
21 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The promise is a movie that promises you that something Eye catching is going to happen but it doesn't. The movie starts really quick with wonderful wide shots with a obviously high budget, very pleasing to see but nothing new. We get a love aspect quick and sponteanous, the building of the love is the same old, same old. One thing it surprises me is that they didn't really exploit Christian bale's talent, his character was missing something, I couldn't get if he was going to be bad or good, there were glimpses of him doing maybe something to make a plot twist but that didn't not happen. The 'plot twist' wasn't that but Ana drowning, bad timing, what a tragedy. The end was quick as the whole movie, they are all in peace now but there was so much missing. I know this is a movie based on historical happenings but from a Cinematographical perspective this movie lacked so much and it was made with a basic structure of the typical Drama, War and Love movie.

THE ART OF GOOD ACTING
6 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
What I can remember mostly from this movie is how the acting was so insanely good, Jack Nicholson was splendid, he was so deep into the character, it so enjoyable to see him act! His face is a forever icon from horror classics, and let's not forget about Duvall, she was terrific, she deserves so much applauses from acting the anxiety, panic attacks and fear of her character. Nonetheless I don't totally think the way she was presented as a submissive woman was the ideal way to take by Kubrick. I'm in love with the scene of they both in the stairs! The way how he calmly tries to kill her, their facial expressions, the dialog, the thing that she could have stepped wrong and fall, her weakness, and Jack actually being not a very good murderer. The thing that they did the blood falling from "scratch" shows how Kubrick really had heart for the films he made.

MY HEART IS FILLED.
25 March 2018
I remember seeing this film when i was a child, i have the memorie of being blown away by the way the "future" factor is put, i belive that this film made something that any other, Spielberg showed us a innovative side of the future. Something that i want to point out is how they manage the first part of the movie that is filled with so many neon colors and people, fun, an eye catching future but then the world surrounding David turns grey, the sudden change of color is something 'simple' but 'powerful'. And the way they give logic explanations for some situations is amazing, you're not left out like "This doesn't make sense, why they don't do this..." and i hate that! Movies should make you believe their world 100%. This film is surely one of the films that i'll look back and think about it.

Sherlock (2010–2017)

I'M SHOOK
3 February 2018
This series is a rollercoaster of suddenly emotions, i cannot say enough times how much i liked this show, since the beginning in episode one i fall in love with both principal characters. Everything is so perfectly made, directed, produced, written and acted, everything just clicked with everyone's work, i'm about to do a deep searching of the screenwritters because i'm totally impressed by their abbilities in plot-twisting, and the development of our characters relationships, it's was so sweet to see two strangers become best friends and then becoming family in a very peculiar way, and the actors should be proud! I feel Sherlock's character went so well with the audience because people love good and BAD people, and he's both, he was tough and then they let us see him vulnerable, what it gave us the feeling of empathy. And its not a big surprise that this show got lots of fangirls, they got the perfect formula of a hard to not love character: confidence, intelligence, badass, mysterious, and more. Another thing you are going to love if you haven't watched the show, it's the villian and this is quite strange to think because most of the time when people connect with a villian is when the villian shows he actually has human emotions etc. but with Moriarty it's not like that, it's the way they show him, he is presented with all this rebel, and crazy vibe that you want more from him, Andrew made an amazing job at portraying him, he rocked the world in his scenes! And for the "END" of the show i want to say: It was made spectacular as always BUT i feel like there is still not conclusion for the characters, i understand if you want to make a open ending but this characters need a more conclusive episode, where they are out of solving cases, they grow in their life out of the cases. I really hope they agree to make a fifth season but if they don't it's okay because they would have their reasons... Nah do a fifth season!

HOPELESS
19 January 2018
This film, oh god, this film was one of the very few films that had make me feel sad but truly sad to the point of crying and i'm a person that doesn't like to cry for films or books, i think is dumb, but Oh GOD this film broke my heart, it made me feel hopeless, And i don't see it as a bad thing, The Revenge of The Sith makes you really be part of the world, part of the suffering and even if sounds terrible, it's what films are supposed to do, films don't just share a message but share emotions. I know that the script wasn't the best, we can obviously see that George didn't had such talent in that exact skill, but it still worked for me, i just love classic films, i like to find the beauty in all of them. One of my favorite STAR WAR FILMS! And one I HATE, Films should be loved and should be hated, BALANCE!

MAGICAL
31 December 2017
Since the day i saw the trailer i knew this movies wasn't going to be just another passable movie, it always shock me when i see musicals because they don't seem easy to do in anyway, i loved seeing such talented artists performing with truly passion. And let's talk about the chemistry between Zac Efron and Zendaya, i claim for more films with both of them! They were lovely, maybe because they are very different. I don't hit the ten stars because even though i really liked the film, the story had some clichés as usual in hollywood, And for my taste the beginning was kind of fast. Again, Cast more Zac and Zendaya!!

The story killed the visuals
28 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This is my first time seeing a Malick film, and at first the thing that grabbed my attention where the places they recorded, they were different in a way, they showed you so many places like it was a documentary and not a movie, and that can work in a way but... in every film the thing that counts the most it's the story, the STORY is everything, but not just that, they way is TOLD. Not just the story went slow and confusing but even the actors talked slowly like we had the time of the world, another thing it's the way they kept repiting the same type of scenes, we got an incredible amount of almost sex- very touchy-romantic scenes between the characters. This is a truly shame because the cast had the talent to do way more, and the places they went where magical!

Nothing makes me cry, but this one.
20 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I selected this movie because the obvious well rating that it has in here, and i thought it was weird because i have never heard of this movie in real life (what a shame!) This movie works by the hope of prisioners, and hope it's underrated, but it can literally move the world, i think with this movie you realize how important is having hope in your life, you cannot go aroung being a negative person that will kill you fast. We all feel conected to this brilliant film because none of us imdb's writers have the perfect life, it just doesn't exist. We all need hope, this movie is beautifully encouraging us to get what we want, nothing makes you feel better than someone telling you "You can do it, i believe in you", i guess that's how we humans work. I love how they made us love the characters, not just the protagonist, how they made us cry, they succeed! They filled us with feelings, they made us think. Anyone that wants to get into filmmaking or writting of some sort should see this movie very carefully because it is a masterpiece. Totally not overrated, totally recommended!

THIS MOVIE IS TOUGH AS REALITY.
19 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I can totally understand why so many people didn't like this film: First of all, you don't get the beautiful ever after with this two amazing actors full of good chemistry, and it's a shame but it doesn't make the movie less amazing. And the second thing is that you don't get all your plot holes filled but why would they? I think it would be totally boring if every movie answered all your questions. I really enjoyed the acting, it felt so real and pure, this two were made for this art, and the movie it also has the relatable factor, because we all in one point of our lifes get as crazy as this characters, it makes you feel like you are not the only one, and that is spectacular.

Something missing
11 November 2017
Well, it started perfectly that's what i saw, the movie made you keep watching till the end, but the problem was that probably the screenwriter wanted to do something different, he didn't want the typical plot where the bad boy gets caught and everyone is happy at the end, also he did not want to get the 3 characters to meet and you know that would result in a very complex scene with a bunch of action, but still, it felt like something it was missing, as a viewer you want to know why the bad guy is bad, but is never explained, several factors were not explained, so the movie had a very noticeable hole, however i'm not putting a very low rating because it had brilliant acting and cinematography. Also i understand that as a screenwriter you sometimes want to break the rules, i feel like this movie is a example of breaking the general structure of a script.
