Wander (2020)
Grief meets troubled mind
I don't understand the low ratings. This movie has good acting, decent scripting, good soundtrack. Even the scenery reeks desperation. I'm not a psychologist, but I suspect this is how it looks inside a troubled mind. The conspiracy theories ranges anywhere from clear cut analysis to madness. This is somewhere in between, but leaning towards madness. I doubt i'll see this anywhere near an Oscar, it is difficult to watch, it is slow burning, but it is a good psychological thriller non the less. I started watching this movie because of the cast and I didn't expect much because of the low rating, but I was pleasantly surprised. I would say this movie is worth at least a rating of 6.
The Girl on the Mountain (2022)
Could have been so much more
This movie is like a suit with bad stitching. The most disappointing of it is the screenplay. So, given the screenplay, I would say that acting is OK most of the time, even though characters are barely sketched. I have to imagine the guilt and suffering of the man for loosing his daughter and to guess the emotion and the development of the bond and trust between the girl and the man, Big Al not really convincing, nor the fighting scenes, in the woods I would bet on the redneck, not on the orchestra conductor playing Rambo. Also the waitress at the end is quite hilarious getting scared by the knife.
Wrath of Man (2021)
In between
It seems to me the director changed its mind midstream. After they beat half of the city looking for the heist crew, there is a change of direction. Must be an inside job. Another thing that bothers me is that I don't know who the main character is, what's his background ? He has some badass skills and I don't know how he acquired them. And the last thing, somehow the ex US soldiers are the bad guys and the criminals are the good guys.🤔
