Marple (2004)
Worst Miss Marple ever
Miss Marple, as written by Agatha Christie, was not proactive or aggressive. She was written to seem very fluffy-headed. Hercule Poirot had his "little gray cells"; Miss Marple's ability came from her ability to see patterns in events and people's behavior. She did so while watching events from a distance.
Dial M for Murder (1954)
Troublesome plot and bland acting
I don't understand why people think this movie is so brilliant. The story shows an assumption on the part of the filmmakers that the audience would, at the least, be either very forgiving or very unobservant: The plot holes are huge and the characters don't make a lot of sense. But hey, it was Hitchcock.
I also -- and this will be unpopular -- don't like Grace Kelly in this or any other film. She was a lovely line-deliverer, but not an actress. This film needed an actress.
Dark Skies (2013)
Excellent
When I read the description of this film, I assumed that it would be corny and a little stupid. I was wrong. In fact, I watched it again a few days later.
Give it a chance.
