About Time (2013)
Its a romantic movie first, rather than a time travel movie.
The story disregards concepts like the butterfly effect for the most part. There are inconsistencies throughout, regarding the establishment of time traveling rules for the movie... But not to an extent that breaks reasoning.
Otherwise it's a great romantic movie, very light hearted in tone.
Honestly, if the whole time travel thing was removed and the final timeline was told as a love story, not much of the experience would've changed. Time travel was niether necessary nor forced into it. It kinda was in the middle where it merely served as a support to tell a much linear story, just in a non linear fashion.
Overall, I recommend anyone who is looking for a time travel and/or a romantic movie, to watch this. The timeline is really simple to follow, unlike most time travel stories out there.
Time Lapse (2014)
A MUST WATCH to all time travel freaks out there
This movie is a underrated, lesser known, unique, worth the time, a hidden gem and a masterpiece.
Without spoiling anything, I would say this movie is for -
- Time travel lovers.
- Non-linear timeline fans.
- Cause-effect nerds.
- Someone who don't mind the bugdet of movie and rather prefer well written story and characters, talented cast and an enjoyable experience over it...
- People who like CW's The Flash, Danielle Panabaker, Christopher Nolans (he has nothing to do with this movie, but this is similar to some of his works) and/or Final destination (again nothing to do with this movie, but similar concept).
Cloverfield (2008)
By far, the best Cloverfield movie
The characters are so well written... Every death feels. CGI creatures are cliche, but alright, but ignoring that, everything else is so, so relatable...
Especially, Hudson - the camera guy, he is just me. And Marlena, she is exactly like my long time crush. Even their interaction are so much like ours... awkward, wierd, me being underconfident, her being spooked and ignorant...
Point is, characters are written so grounded and realistic, they are relatable, likable and feel like real people and not some generic heroes and "good guys" kinda stars in a generic thriller/survival movie. None of the other cloverfield movies even came close to this OG masterpiece in this regard. Not just the cloverfield movies, but characters written this well is rare in any movie...
And about the camera work, just, so innovative. Its not done for the first time in cinema history, but it is done really, really well. Adds another layer of realisticness to the whole thing going on...
Memento (2000)
The best movie ever
Innovative concept. It involves the audience into the movie (to participate in a way). You can't just sit back and watch it casually.
You actually have to try to figure out and make sense of the events just the way the protagonist have to...
