Kasdan's ability to swing mood between the frames makes this film unpredictable, interesting and sexy. It's a pretty brilliant attempt in revamping the classic neo-noir genre.
This film is sexy, steamy, seductive, suspenseful and engrossing in every way possible. Kasdan's direction is daring, stylish and intact, Making characters believable only when he needs them and it makes you uncertain and invested in the film. That's some terrific direction there.
William Hurt's calm, sexy and amazing performance makes this film going forward and believable. He nailed it as a vigorous lawyer smitten by a sexy, enticing and manipulative lady. Kathleen Turner is also pretty amazing. She's hell of a femme fatale, I mean, she can woo anybody with her dominating charm.
And the music by John Barry, it's so soothing. It compliments the film so effectively that without it, the film would seem joyless.

Kurosawa's ability to show the very human emotions and willpower (in desperate times) through the chaos and unjust atrocities is unparalleled. His storytelling lies in plain sight that throws realistic details in every frame, It's so poetically heart wrenching. Every frame is illustriously beautiful, Dynamically executed and portrayed. I'm speechless, Never seen a film 3.5 hours long with this much attention and such emotions. It shows how powerful Kurosawa's direction is!
It's undoubtedly one of the greatest films of last century. A poetic masterpiece that teaches you the art of war in a utter painful way.

Wow, It has to be one of the most interesting films I've ever watched. Truly cinematic right from the first frame. It has that suaveness, right amount of seduction and modernized neo-noir theme. The Watchowski brothers (then) did such a fantastic job in their debut, Their use of palette on the screen is really interesting and distinctive. Bill Pope's cinematography is so rad and stylish that one easily notices the signature shots they later used in Matrix trilogy and Spiderman trilogy. It makes perfect sense of thrill and tension between the characters and screenplay.
Performances are so good, Jennifer Tilly's distinctive and seductive dialogue delivery makes all the stress go away and Gina Gershon is also good but it's Joe Pantoliano who steals the show, Such a brilliant performance.
