South Park: Holiday Special (2017)
Just Great
I'm 0.0001% black so, SUP NEGGA!
This episode follows perfectly the "Put It Down" formula about criticize something with fun. Come on, the South Park formula. Yea, the one that seemed lost lately, but now it's back!
Anyway, the plot about Randy being incredibly more politically correct than in the great season 19 and (as happens in these cases) getting psychotic was kinda good.
Another good thing is to see the kids finally acting like what they are: Kids. Children who go crazy when they cancel a holiday. Remember the great ideas that came out based on their innocence in the earlier seasons. The telephone-threat scene was amazing.
And what can I say about the DNAandMe commercial?Making fun about ethnicity and stuff was just priceless, define pretty well actual society in some way.
So, as I said in last episode, keep the good work guys! South Park has no limit.
South Park: Put It Down (2017)
They're back!
Unlike the debut episode of season 21 this one has a lot of positive things. Where do I start? Mmm...
Yes, the fact of not focus the entire chapter only on Randy or Cartman. Tweek has always been an unique character and you can easily check it from that funny first scene. So him, right?
Oh, and thanks Matt & Trey, now I cannot listen to Logic's "1-800" without member Cartman and his catchy anti-suicide campaign. South Park shines on one of the best things they can do: A Parody.
The ending and that "President's fault" justifying the stupidity of people who use the cell phone while driving was instantly a classic and the song pretty well done.
So yes, South Park still on top after 20 years and we're proud of it. Keep the good work guys!
South Park: White People Renovating Houses (2017)
Disappointing
That was what I felt when I first saw "White People Renovating Houses". I mean, we're talking about the season premiere of one the best animated series in history.
It was bad? No. It was good? Neither. At least not in the South Park level.
The plot about the rednecks and their "they took our jobs/confederate flags" issue was interesting and contemporary while the Alexa's parody it was well made, it was funny.
So, what was the problem? The episode simply stalled. Lost strength. And what happened to Randy anyway? His participation seemed so forced and only to justify the empty end.
Even the "renovating houses" thing is too old, we came back to 2005 and nobody didn't warn me? After the disappointing "The End of Serialization as we Know It" episode I was waiting for a really good job by Matt and Trey.
I really want to believe that South Park has not lost its touch and I truly hope the next one be better.
