Not what I expected
27 August 2021
I was going into this show in expectation of great animated tournament fights with no deep story. Which would've been awesome in my opinion. But instead I got an anime with lots of talking lots of standing around and lots of still shots. No great fight animation plus no great story makes no great show.

Great show
23 July 2021
After we had so many cartoon shows releasing since the success of Rick & Morty that were more or less... Well how do I say... Meh.

This show is finally another highlight on the animation horizon. Especially in the first few episodes they had some outstanding story ideas and well thought out jokes that you didn't see coming at all. I'm really excited to see where this show is going with more seasons.

First few seasons are top class
22 May 2021
The first 4 Seasons are what made me love The Walking Dead as a whole. Loved the plotlines the characters and the overall look of it. Then season 5 was alright but lost its tension after the first half.

Season 6 started off really slow and boring but the Finale was nerve wracking. I watched the first few episodes of season 7 but then had to pause for a bit. Haven't seen any further yet but I heard the show eventually gets back it's old vibe so I will definitely go back and continue watching.

My rating is mostly for Season 1-4.

This caught me off guard
16 April 2021
By far one of the best show Netflix put out in a minute.

Was a bit sceptical at first and didn't know what to expect but then when everything unfolds this show really takes off. Can't wait for season 2.

One of the greatest anime shows
14 April 2021
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is without a doubt one of the best written and paced anime shows out there. There's not a single episode which doesn't help to build up the story. Every character is perfectly written and goes through a development process that is understandable but not necessarily predictable for the audience. The plot is one of the greatest storylines I've ever seen in anime history or even in fiction overall. I will definitely go back an re-watch this show again sometime.

Disappointing
15 January 2021
The first two-three episodes looked interesting and caught my attention but then everything gets lost in a confusing storyline that wasn't that exciting and the characters where pretty much boring.

Very underwhelming
2 January 2021
Watched the first 2 episodes and had to admit that it didn't really got to me but I thought maybe it just needs some time to develop the story to finally take off but after watching episode 5 I was pretty sure that this point wouldn't come and it just stays on this level. Overall I found it pretty boring and some characters were just cringe af. Couldn't overcome myself to continue watching after 5 episodes so I have to admit: it's not my cup of tea.

I really don't get how this show has such a high rating.

Not my cup of tea
8 December 2020
Like I said this seems to not be my cup of tea. I like the character and creature designs but the overall 3d look just isn't something I seem to get used to in anime. Also the story didn't really catch me so I stopped watching after 7 episodes. I still can understand how this appeals to some people. I would've preferred a little more action and more epic fights between the godeaters and the gods.

How does this get such a good reputation
30 November 2020
I finished the first two seasons now and I'm actually wondering how this show got its good reputation in the anime scene. I mean the first 6 or so episodes were entertaining and I was curious how it all plays out but as soon as they leave the soa game the show just got stuck into a boring love story and doesn't really seem to get out of it at all. The fights are mediocre and the characters are very linear and flat written. The world building doesn't really exist after the first few episodes and the story overall just isn't really exciting I feel like. I probably won't watch the next seasons since my expectations aren't really that high.

Good one

First season is an absolute favorite of mine. It loses a bit of it's attitude after that but still is a very well done anime show. Reminds me of a more in your face version of Cowboy Bebop.

Another show that turned from yay to nay
8 November 2020
1st season was awesome. Really great storyline with excellent world building and awesome visuals. I liked the characters and I enjoyed the plot. 2nd season got boring right from the get-go. No world building no storyline that could possibly hook you. The visuals were trash as well and overall there just was nothing I really enjoyed.

There are too many shows that just continue because the first season had a big audience. The point is people like things because they're good and not for a name of a show. Just end it.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995–1996)

Checked off the list
13 October 2020
I had Neon Genesis Evangelion on my anime Watchlist ever since I first heard of it. I'm not usually a fan of giant battle robots but this one was always brought to me as something different. So I finally watched it after years. First off some things I liked the most about the show. The art style. I love the 90s characteristic anime style and NGE had some of the best artwork I've ever seen. I also liked the concept of angels and how diverse they appeared with different strengths and weaknesses. Also the philosophical approach was a hook for me. But still I feel a bit underwhelmed by the show. I wasn't quite as blown away as every other one it seems. I felt that the actual twist points all happened within 3-4 episodes. Not saying that everything else was not worth watching. Lots of words. Might come back and edit some once I thought about it more.

I prefer the manga
12 October 2020
Even though I'm not usually a manga over anime guy, I still prefer it that way with this franchise. The manga is just so much faster when it comes to storytelling and pacing in general. I still liked the anime.

Not my cup of tea but my gf seems to enjoy it.
7 October 2020
The animation style is rather trashy but the overall style of the show is quite fresh and outstanding. Personally I had problems getting into this show. The story seemed kinda random to me and things didn't really get explained. For me it was a bit too scatty.

Nice approach

I liked the first 4-5 Episodes very much but then it lost its power throughout the rest of the show. I liked the art and music style (Cowboy Bebop inspired themes were noticed)

Couldn't get me
18 March 2020
Sadly this seems to be not my cup of tea. I thought the idea could be fun but after 2 episodes it just felt insignificant. Sorry but there are too many good Anime shows to waste my time on a show that looks nice but doesn't do nothing to me.

Top Boy (2011–2023)

This show had me hooked
9 March 2020
Top Boy achieves to authenticly display Londons streetlife and its effects on different generations and individuals that more or less voluntary have to deal with it. The plot is captivating at all times and doesn't lose its intensity even in the more quiet scenes. The acting as well as camera and music is top notch and helps making the world as realistic as it gets. Also I like that there are no good guys and bad guys in this show (okay maybe there are bad guys). But every character is portrait in its individual way and acting out of individual credible intentions. All of these aspects makes Top Boy one of the best shows I've ever watched. It's not your everyday tough guy streetlife show but instead shows the vulnerable side of things.

I enjoyed 4 seasons
5 March 2020
The show started off good and felt very authentic. A lot of things going wrong and characters aren't driven by simple motives but instead are quite complex. But during season 5 I already felt a bit fed up with the show as things seem to "slow-down" and get too constructed. I recently watched episode 5 of the sixth season and decided to stop for now since I didn't really enjoy it anymore. I feel like it's a big problem with a lot of TV Shows. They start of with high expectations and a good plot and everything but just don't get the right point to let it finish. Especially in times where there are so many shows I rather start a fresh one than hold on to a show that doesn't bother me anymore. Nevertheless I enjoyed SOA for a good amount of time.

Lost it's spirit in season 2
27 February 2020
If it would only been for the first season this would be at least a 8/10. There were cool characters, a nice and exciting plot and well written dialogues. But as it is with so many shows they don't know when to stop a show and let it be what it is. Instead they tried to ride a wave that's just lost it's direction. Season 2 starts of way slower than the first one and it seems like nothing really happens for 3 episodes. The plot is missing complexity and the charme of the first season has completely disappeared. If you ask me just watch the first season and leave it be like that.
