Eraserhead (1977)
Definitely not my type
"Eraserhead" is a polarizing film that has been praised for its surrealistic imagery and unsettling atmosphere, but can also come across as pretentious and confusing to some viewers. Directed by David Lynch, the film tells the story of Henry Spencer, a man who becomes trapped in a nightmarish world of industrial decay, bizarre creatures, and existential dread.
The film's use of black and white cinematography, stark industrial settings, and surrealistic imagery is undeniably striking, creating a dark and disturbing atmosphere that is both captivating and unsettling. However, the film's narrative is often disjointed and confusing, leaving many viewers scratching their heads and wondering what it all means.
The film's themes of alienation, isolation, and the human condition are explored through the character of Henry, who is portrayed as a socially awkward and emotionally stunted individual struggling to find his place in the world. However, the film's use of symbolism and metaphor can come across as heavy-handed and pretentious, leaving many viewers feeling alienated and disconnected from the story.
Despite its flaws, "Eraserhead" remains an important and influential work of art that has had a lasting impact on the world of cinema. Its use of surrealist imagery and unconventional storytelling has inspired generations of filmmakers, and its exploration of the darker aspects of the human psyche continues to resonate with audiences to this day.
In conclusion, "Eraserhead" is a film that may appeal to fans of experimental and avant-garde cinema, but may also come across as pretentious and inaccessible to others. It is a film that demands attention and contemplation, and its impact on the world of cinema cannot be denied.
Emily the Criminal (2022)
Great, but...
Let's be real folks, it would never work in the real world, she'd be arrested within 2 days, and we can no longer hide our faces from all hi-tech cameras with facial recognition, they're everywhere now, and they're linked to the FBI and local police. Emily would be caught in a matter of hours or a couple of days top. You have to suspend your belief a lot, once again, in order to enjoy this movie. Fortunately credit card fraud con artists can easily be stopped now, at least on real world, it's another story on Internet.
And to be honest, what's the message of this movie? They are promoting a criminal activity?
Outer Range (2022)
Enough is Enough
I'm sick and tired of tv shows following the same mistakes committed by others, such as Lost, and many others. The season is almost over and so far I only saw a bunch of rednecks with nonsense talks, the "hole" is only mentioned in some minutes of each episode. This show is ruined, and I'm done.
Broadcast Signal Intrusion (2021)
Who needs a Xanax with movies like this?
One of the most pathetic and boring movies I watched this year. I can begin with the terrible acting along with a very tedious plot, and an aberrative ending. Basically, the movie is surrounded by a fixed idea of an incompetent and depressed archivist, catching clues about a tv hacking from some years ago, in the end, he eventually found the culprit and killed him, and then we witness the most pathetic scene of the movie, when he runs over a woman with his car, but wait a minute, it wasn't a woman, but a robot, wtf?
At least you can cure your insomnia with this movie, I caught myself almost falling asleep a few times.
Shelter in Place (2021)
Don't trust the reviews.
This "movie" is utter garbage, plain simple. There's no coherence, just a dumb plot written by very mediocre people.
Into the Night (2020)
Season 2 ruined the show
I loved the Season 1, and I was really surprised that finally Netflix was able to achieve something atypical, which was a good tv show. Unfortunately the good recipe didn't last for a long time, the Season 2 was just a filler, with moronic and pointless episodes, with various plot holes. I was really rooting for this tv show, but after this ruined season 2, I really doubt it'll be renewed for a new season.
La valla (2020)
Poor melodrama
Low-budget dystopian portrayed in a world after a world-war. Another poor recipe of far-right dictatorship with various clichés, along with the poor acting. I love dystopian movies/tv-shows, but this one lacks any appeal, perhaps due to the obvious limited budget. Another Netflix show that won't have a second season for more than obvious reasons.
La llorona (2019)
absolutely trashy
Don't trust the good reviews, obviously, they're fake. This movie is utterly boring, there's no enough horror material, the plot is often inconsistent and devoid of any concrete appealing. In short, a movie about a central america folkloric tale, but unfortunately very poorly done.
In My Room (2018)
Why?
What's the point of this movie? There's no plot whatsoever, just a boring middle-aged man, alone, and when he finally meets another human, he never asks pertinent questions about the reasons for this outcome he's in. I'm even more appalled to know that this movie received awards, FOR WHAT?Maybe for being the most boring movie EVER.
Sløborn (2020)
Disastrous
A very slow soap opera with very annoying characters, especially the little girl. Several plot holes, like no human distancing, unimaginable escapes, lousy action scenes, etc. In short, several hours wasted on this poorly done melodrama
The Wretched (2019)
Pointless
Another pseudo horror movie with annoying teen "actors". Only a waste of time, a movie that only worsened my depression during these pandemic times.
The Room (2019)
Dumb, to say the least
I have to admit the concept was a little original, but it wasn't properly done, to begin with the characters, I never witnessed so dumb people, compared to flat-earthers. Well, now let's about the room, basically it's a 21-century genius lamp with limitless wishes, but with a difference, the wishes always gets older and older until it turns to dust. Well, I have in mind somethings that never gets old, I can name for instance gold and diamonds, but the characthers were too dumb to notice it. In short, bad writting, but it had potential to be a great movie, including some niihilism ideas.
In the Tall Grass (2019)
Worst movie of the year for me
The idea many appear to be original at first, but trust me, eventually you will regret about watching this pile of excrement.
The Endless (2017)
Are you kidding?
Probably the worst movie I ever saw. There´s no story whatsoever.
