Blood Fest (2018)
Fall prey to what they claim to know
Annoying that the protagonists are aware of the perils and claim to know the rules, and how to avoid them, and yet make all the same mistakes of any horror victim...
The Toybox (2018)
The 1 star reviews are the most accurate...
I really cannot add much to the negative and very accurate comments in the other reviews, all true, this is a complete waste of time to watch. The reviewers who gave this piece of crap anything rating above 5 must not have watched much in the horror genre if the saw anything in this that is original, creative or scary...acting, script, all very bad.
The Axiom (2018)
Hated the characters as I got to know them.
As in so many horror movies, the poor decisions, lack of communication and general bad judgment is what prolongs the action and contributes to the body count. This group begins with one character lying, misleading and withholding information, and the rest follow suit. These are the casts that make you cheer when they die.
I prefer horror that has at least a few intelligent characters, this has none.
Population 436 (2006)
Predictable and disappointing
Was hoping for a better script, with relatively intelligent characters. The ending would have been much different if the main character had a normal amount of intelligence but he constantly made mistakes, even after experience and stern warnings should have shown him the best choices. Really disappointing.
The Wake (2017)
Predictable and disappointing
Another "group of friends" slasher that has all the incompetent types making the typical bad decisions.....really becoming sick of all these, makes it too easy to build the body count because every victim is too stupid to pick up a weapon, or keep one once they have used it, never ensure that the killer is really dead, never take the opportunity to escape that often presents itself. I have considered that horror movie directors put these elements in because they know most horror film fans get frustrated with them, and are not the type to not follow through, as so many of the victims are the kind to fail to do so. Even when Mrs. Stevens was tied up, and later stabbed, I knew she was behind it, so no surprises at all. It is actually disappointing that any of them live. No creative deaths, good dialogue or interesting story-line, nothing redeeming the film at all.
