Tokyo Vice (2022)
Love it
This show is an addiction that doesn't quit. Totally engrossing storyline and something the viewer can sink their teeth into after all the vapid crap out there now. I was a bit offset by the subtitles in such profusion, but the story is so well written, well done and engrossing it doesn't even matter after a few episodes. You kind of stop noticing because you're just so caught up in the characters and story. Each episode leaves you wanting the next chapter and that's exactly as it should be with a good show. I'll be sad when the season ends but will look forward to season three. I actually started watching season one just recently so was lucky enough to be able to continue on with season two immediately. A superb show.
Death and Other Details (2024)
Only one episode in
So far only got one episode in, but have to say based on this one BORING. Of course it didn't help at all when, after about 10 minutes, the required lesbians were trotted out. Writers keep cramming it down the throats of the viewing audience. I don't think they get it at all that that's the ultimate way to kill a show. Personally, I left sick and tired of this trash way back down the road long ago. It's like they all have the same requirement outline that must include one lesbian couple or one gay man couple. I might possibly try one more episode but not awaiting the next installment with bated breath. It now goes down at the bottom of my list of shows to watch.
World on Fire (2019)
I'm hooked
This show is well written and has really fleshed out characters. It's impressive that the stories are told based on individual characters, real people with lives, hopes, dreams and human foibles. I watched the first episode and found it a bit slow but once the stories started to unfold, I was well and truly hooked. There are quite a few different characters to keep track of in the beginning, but once you get into the episodes it becomes really easy. Yes, it's WWII but the people are the main story set to the backdrop of the war. Don't miss seeing this gem of a show. I'm so glad I found it on the firestick.
Found (2023)
Oh my
It took us exactly one episode to know definitively that I was never watching another episode of this truly awful show. The lead actress is annoyingly fervent and evokes not one iota of empathy. This show left me literally scratching my head in wonder as to who writes this tripe and even more amazement as to who bankrolls it. It's really sad how awful most of the new shows are. This one is so NOT a breath of fresh air and my recommendation to all is not to waste your time on this latest addition to the prime time network menu. Instead of paying the writers of this total tripe, they should be paying the audience to waste their time watching it.
Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
Were they watching what I was watching?
This was a total waste of 7 hours. Not only is the script convoluted and hard to figure out, it just bordered on absurd with really annoying characters. By the looong awaited final episode the answer to Who Is Erin Carter? Is WHO CARES! The lead actress had one expression.... NONE. Either she had too much Botox and couldn't move her facial muscles or she just realized it was useless to try and inject any emotion into this awful role. This story could have had potential with a well written script but, in the end, the whole family agreed we had wasted 7 episodes of time. My advice to all is SKIP this and count yourself lucky.
Justified: City Primeval (2023)
Oh boy
Raylan, what did you do? I literally can't wait until this is over as there is not one redeeming quality, not even Raylan. The supposed lead character is barely in this disjointed and nonsensical script. Where the original show was charming and quirky with amazing well rounded characters, this one falls totally flat on its face. From the awful daughter character who wanders around Detroit on a daytime jaunt, to the awful, awful black lawyer, the story is just plain lousy. I guess Timothy didn't read the script at all. Let's not even mention the off the wall psycho who walks around in his underwear throughout most of the show and is barely understandable when he talks. I really wanted to love this show, but I really just hate it.
NCIS: Hawai'i (2021)
Being kind
Two stars is kind for this show. A total snooze fest from start to finish. Oh, and did I mention the lesbian sub story?? CLICK OFF at first sight. This show has no saving grace except the location of Hawaii which is always beautiful to see. Over saturated with the lesbian theme that seems to be popping up on all the liberal stations, both in shows and ads. This is the surest way to get a show cancelled as people are sick and tired of having viewing garbage crammed down their throat at every turn. Not watching these shows and not buying these products is the way people are now going to show their ire. Waiting to see how long it takes until they get it!
Alert: Missing Persons Unit (2023)
Made it through first episode
Whoever only got through the first 15 minutes missed the really ridiculous part at the end. Scott Caan was charmingly quirky but that's as far as the good goes. The female lead had such a thick accent it was work just to decipher half of what she said. Unbelievably poor dialogue and these two supposedly street smart cops being so thrilled to get their so called son back no questions asked, after six years was truly laughable. Sooo poorly thought out. Who writes and approves this stuff? I won't even bother with another episode. This was truly a complete and utter waste of time. The two stars I gave were for effort.
The Recruit (2022)
O.M.G.W.T.F.
As usual Netflix has managed to make a complete mess out of a show that wasn't too bad for the first couple of episodes. This story was the most convoluted, ridiculous and poorly written MESS ever and even funnier, they want a second season of this garbage. Who is in charge at Netflix anyway? It must be someone deaf, dumb and mindless. I actually stuck with this to the end waiting for an ending, only to see the jerkiness being extended to what they think will be a second season. I sure won't be watching. What a complete waste of time. This is not the first show Netflix has totally ruined. They try to be too cute with the storylines, like throwing a plate of spaghetti against a wall to see what sticks.
Sniper: Rogue Mission (2022)
Pass this by folks
The worst sniper movie EVER..don't waste your time. Someone thought this franchise needed a comedy. What a shame. Best of all this comedy isn't one iota funny.
Professor T (2021)
A knack for quirky characters
This show is a stylish sleeper that creeps up on you until you really love it. Oddball characters played by very talented British actors and let's not forget the great music to go with. Can be a bit slow in spots but we'll worth watching.
FBI (2018)
Very pat pablum
The usual crap from Dick Wolf. He always makes the bad guys veterans or cops and the poor, illegals are so taken advantage of by the awful American people. So sick of his garbage on TV.
FBI: International (2021)
Lost cause
There's really nothing that can remove the stench from the FBI at this point, so time to stop trying. Getting tired of Dick Wolf and his little moral lessons tucked into most episodes.
The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco (2018)
PC strikes again
Congrats on taking an interesting British show and taking it out of the WWII era and putting in the race card set in good old San Fran. I, for one, have had it with this racial PC bull. Lasted 10 min with me.
SEAL Team (2017)
Paramount is rocking this show
What a refreshing take..they tell it like it is. The first episode on paramount was astounding and right on target and PC culture be damned. The only good show left on tv.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003)
Time for an update
The new cast members have become increasingly bad with each one. The exit of Mark Harmon was the clincher. He was all that was holding the show together. Gary Cole and the rest of the cast are just awful and there isn't a fix for this mess. Such a shame to have not let this great show exit on a high note instead of killing it little by little. There is not one cast character anyone cares about and certainly not interested in the character's back story. Only thing that could save this show is if Tony and Ziva returned. Very sad, indeed. It's a rare thing when a cast has such tremendous chemistry. This cast just doesn't work on any level.
No Time to Die (2021)
Not a winner
On the Bond scoreboard, this rates a 4. It's like the writers threw a basket of ideas against the wall and what stuck got put in the script. Also they think viewers are stupid because according to their own premise of DNA targeting, Blofelds daughter and granddaughter would both be dead.
Nobody (2021)
Stay with this one.you won't regret it
One of the best and most entertaining movies I have seen in I can't even remember how long. Starts slow but it's a great ride.
Outer Banks (2020)
Entertaining to a point
Unfortunately Netflix doesn't know when to stop. Eight episodes would have been enough. Cop arrests bad guy, kids get gold and are super rich. End of story line and get another for next season. Everything that happened after was ridiculous and tells viewers how dumb you think they are.
My Spy (2020)
Light and entertaining
Cutest movie ever. Upbeat and funny, no drugs or torture scenes for a change. An upper instead of a depressing downer.
Deputy (2020)
Sick of this
I've had it ad nauseam with this crap about hating ICE and loving people that have no business being in this country. Keep it up Cal cause its working sooo well for you all.
