At first, I had a big expectation for this movie upon watching the second trailer since the previous and first installment in the BCU, Gundala was pretty disappointing in a lot of aspects and it seems they only learned a little for making this film.
Okay, sure this time they put in more action scenes, more & better VFX. But UNFORTUNATELY the fights scenes are REALLY painful to watch, especially the fight between Alana and Roh Setan's henchmen.
Every punch they throw in this film looks slow, choreographed, and almost has no impact. A lot of the bad guy's henchmen brought guns, but either they never used a firearms before or they just forgot to load any bullets to it since probably there are only 5% of shots in this film actually hits the target, such a garbage directing.
Now the VFX, I would say most VFX in this films were just an "okay", not bad but not good either, just in between. The VFX only looks good for Roh Setan when he turns to his smoke form.
For the casting... I feel like Bumilangit only wants to recruit big actors & actress to their films not for their skills in acting or even actions scenes, but solely for their big names in the media thinking people would watch their films because they have all these big names lineup.
