Full Circle (2023)
On 3rd Episode / Overall Good / Postal Inspector = Annoying & Unbelievable
Great cast, decent writing, great imagery, solid soundtrack...lots of things here to trust and like...but having a postal inspector running around like a rogue CIA operative is beyond ridiculous...a postal inspector!?!? ...if a postal inspector was in my face after I got my child kidnapped, I would be like "I haven't bought a stamp or mailed a letter in years...Ef off!" . The casting and writing is unrealistically annoying and unbelievable...maybe they'll tie it together, but why not a NYPD detective or FBI agent...smh...fingers crossed that it comes together because I plan to finish it.......
Im Westen nichts Neues (2022)
WOW! Does the original justice...nerve wracking in a meaningful way!
OMG, watched the original movie in history class way back in the 80's...remember it was a classic, but forgot the actual story and details. They did the original justice as an antiwar movie. This is best war movie since Saving Private Ryan IMO as it shows just how horrific war actually is beyond just the killing, it's stupidity and egos by leadership, mental pressure not meant for humans...it's the most tense war movie I've ever watched since the original Das Boat which was beyond nerve wracking to sit through. A+ on this one! I highly recommend, but it's definitely not date night material or feel good...it'll stick with you after watching...again, very well done in all aspects!
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Causal Fans Will Like It / Hardcore Book Readers Will Never Approve
I'm enjoying the series, I think some of the complaints are valid but a little harsh. I get the hardcore fans being upset as they have the highest standard, but sometimes too high. Peter Jackson isn't running the show now, so of course the look/feel, etc. And I believe (I don't know) he had more years to plan. It's going to be different as Jackson clearly did a better job....so far. Really feel like this is like most series where in season 1 they're still figuring parts of it out and it'll get better w/the details as the season progress as Amazon made a multiyear commitment (like $1b) which is awesome...give it a shot folks, as I find it fascinating to hear the backstory to The Hobbit and Fellowship of the Rings as I never read the books.
