Suits: Shame (2017)
Heart-warming
This episode takes a different dynamic than the previous episodes and it delivers. It's great to see some of the characters getting along for a change. Louis Litt is magnificent as always and steals the spotlight every time an episodes delves more into his psyche. An interesting approach to see Gretchen get some more screen time, as she is definitely an underrated and powerful character.
An extremely gripping and intense episode that somehow manages to be light-hearted and exhilarating at the same time. Even though it was suspiciously convenient, i'm glad that the prison case has been dealt with along with tensions that rose with it; although it is a little odd that Mike & Harvey were basically asking for trouble this episode.
I really hope that Rick Hoffman receives the recognition he deserves by managing to portray such a complex and troubled character such as Louis Litt. Witnessing all the different states Louis is experiencing along with how he reacts has always been integral to the show, but it was never as insightful and wonderfully implemented as it is this season.
In the heart of all the conflicts and characters' motivations are the interpersonal relationships that define the show in addition to its signature 'swagger' and fluctuating pace. The interpersonal connections really stand out throughout this episode, and in doing so, show us how far some of these characters have come and further emphasizes their development.
Several characters getting their time to shine while the show is exploring new ground along with maintaining the wonderful recognizable atmosphere that we have become accustomed to. Another great episode from one the best seasons yet. Let's hope that 'Suits' will be renewed for at least one more season, as it hasn't lost its touch; not one bit.
Suits: 100 (2017)
What an episode
This episode was directed by Patrick J. Adams, that alone indicates how great of a episode this was. The 100th episode of the show, and the show hasn't lost its touch; not in the least bit.
A few unexpected 'bombs' were dropped onto a few of the characters and we get to witness how everything is affecting them. It's rather interesting to see the distinction between the characters rather clearly in this episode in order to see how each individual copes and makes certain decisions under distress. It's lovely to see that Donna & Rachel are getting more screen time this episode in comparison to the previous episodes of the season. Tensions continue to exacerbate more and more, whilst continuing to clarify some of the characters' motivations.
Robert Zane makes a very prominent and powerful appearance that was very impress to say the least. What's truly remarkable is that Louis Litt can be overzealous, hilarious, fascinating and relatable in one scene. Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) persists to outdo himself, especially this season.
One of the most intense seasons thus far and I hope it won't be the last. The music is wonderfully placed, as always. I admire how they managed to fit all of these different conflicts and difficult decisions that they have to make whilst still maintaining a positive note, and also doing so in such a concise and efficient way. Another wonderful addition to this superb season. If only Patrick J. Adams would direct more episodes.
Game of Thrones: The Dragon and the Wolf (2017)
The long night is finally here
Winter has arrived. I cannot believe that we have to wait for at least another year again for the next season. As most will remember how shocking and breathtaking the last moments of the season 2 finale were, that was nothing in comparison to what occurred in this episode. Even though some moments were fairly predictable, it was still rather enjoyable to witness. The music, the cinematography, the dialogue, the costumes, I could go on & on about how spectacular all of it was. As many of the fans have pointed out, it is extremely rushed & I agree, however; that gave us more of an opportunity to 'get right to it' and just focus on what was crucial to the plot.
The scenes in the Dragonpit were incredible, to say the least. I am really satisfied with how this season was executed. Although many are disappointed with the shorter length of this season, at least we still have one final season to look forward to. The long off-season has begun once again. I really hope the people involved in producing the Dragons and all of the effects are given the recognition they deserve for the tremendous spectacles they have graced us with.
A beautiful episode that will not forgotten anytime soon. Characters developed in such a graceful way, others reuniting in a rather lovely yet somewhat heartbreaking manner, this episode had it all. The culmination of the series as a whole is emphasized greatly in this episode, and it changes everything.
Despite the fact that this is the longest episode in the series thus far, it didn't feel long enough and it practically passed by in an instant. Unfortunately, this season passed by rather abruptly as well. Game Of Thrones always delivers, regardless of whether or not it may meet certain expectations, it does not fail to vastly impress and outdo itself year after year; and this episode is a testament to that.
I don't think there is any need to accentuate how marvelous the cast is at portraying these intricate characters and bring them to life so masterfully. What makes the show really stand out, in my opinion, is the fact that it can still be moving, shocking, and poignant even when you are certain that you have correctly predicted future events.
A crucial addition to the world of Westeros.
Suits: Full Disclosure (2017)
Another great episode
It's rather interesting how they explore the characters' pasts and how certain things happened, episodes like this really do clear up a lot of questions about certain developments. It's also lovely that Jessica keeps returning even though the last season was supposedly her last. Her involvement in the story is integral and it's always a pleasure to see her on screen. Great playlists as usual, along with beautiful establishing shots. Louis Litt remains the best part of the season so far in my opinion as the story delves more into his character, and Rick Hoffman does not disappoint at any point whatsoever. Even though the psychiatrist isn't the one that's pretty much on display, his interactions with Louis are not only insightful, but extremely entertaining. A very informative episode to say the least. Season thankfully continues to deliver superbly.
Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall (2017)
Beyond The Wall
I wasn't sure what to think of the episode at first, all I know was that I was extremely underwhelmed by the end of it. The visual effects and the scope of the episode within itself are spectacular. Regardless of whether or not the writing or the development made sense, the visuals were undeniably great. One can say that the events felt extremely rushed, but I don't think the producers have much of an option given the nature of the circumstances in Westeros at the moment. As always, the music and the performances are excellent and continue to impress. The episode certainly was entertaining for the most part. I don't think any of us can really judge how this episode affected the entire plot until we have seen the finale.
Despite the fact that it was disappointing at first, when you really think about it; this episode definitely changes the overall tone of the series. Certain aspects of the episode may not meet certain people's expectations, whilst others will most likely be impressed, it's a polarizing episode. A great episode nonetheless within a lovely season.
Suits: Home to Roost (2017)
Another lovely episode
I think the title, more or less, says it all. The cast still manages to deliver very convincing performances and the music is quite lovely as always. Everybody is still trying to get their act together and do what they can to cope with their own roles in the company. Conflicts arising along with other conflicts being reconciled, which is a staple of the series at this point. Another great episode in an intense, entertaining season. Whilst this episode may have taken a more serious tone than the rest of the season, that in no way diminishes how captivating and interesting it can be throughout the episode. 'Suits' has never been dull, and this episode is no exception.
Game of Thrones: Eastwatch (2017)
Fantastic addition to a great season
I am delighted to see more and more wonderful performances by the entire cast with every episode. As a fan, this was an incredible episode due to all the reunions and loose ends that were tied. Many more conflicts will arise in addition to the main fight for survival and unity. The music is phenomenal as always and somehow manages to fit the scenes perfectly. I must say that the special effects team really outdid themselves, not only in this specific episode, but in the course of the season thus far. Even though some scenes and certain encounters felt a bit rushed, I suppose it fits the fact that there is an imminent threat and that there is no longer any time to waste; that and the fact that this season is shorter than the previous one's. Whilst some may not be thrilled that this is another 'build up' episode, certain events have to take place in order for it all to make sense and develop accordingly. A very entertaining and even heartwarming episode that sets the stage for more long-awaited battles and reunions. A must watch.
Suits: Brooklyn Housing (2017)
Wonderful episode
I should preface this by saying that this review is *SPOILER HEAVY*.............. The Scenes with Louis and his Psychiatrist are quite enlightening, i'm really glad they included them in this season as they are very interesting and we get to hear and see how Louis is actually feeling and how he copes with it; as opposed to see him overreact and break down amongst the others.
I don't want to spoil the episode too much, I just want to point out how much this episode shows us what drives each of these characters and what they are good at respectively. The whole prison sub-plot is executed very well and it's great to see Mike trying to help others, even though he isn't exactly doing a great job balancing both aspects of his deal with Harvey. All of that being said, we get another great episode from another great season that thankfully does not disappoint at all. I cannot stress enough of how great of a job Rick Hoffman is doing portraying Louis Litt, even when Louis is at his worst and his reactions can seem melodramatic, Rick Hoffman manages to make him seem not only believable, but relatable in a sense. I'm excited to see what happens next.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Truly Phenomenal
I'm going to preface this review by stating that I usually dislike medieval-themed shows. This show really is like no other. Even though it started off slowly, it has cemented itself as one of the best shows of all time. I have been watching it since the second season and I have loved it ever since. Even when the episodes seem like they are dull and go on for a very long time, they have a purpose and are always well-done. This show is excellent in every way, from the acting, the writing, the cinematography, the score/music, it's absolutely wonderful. It's filled with interesting, complex characters and situations that are introduced every season. It somehow remains fresh and constantly surprises and impresses me every season. Even though some people may see it as overrated, it's still an undeniably excellent show, regardless of your personal preference. It manages to be hilarious, heartbreaking, interesting, intriguing, and dark all the same time.
Whilst this show may not be ideal for those who have read the books, I imagine it is still fascinating to see these character and this vast world come to life. There's something in this show for everyone; fans of practically every genre can appreciate the hard work and art the cast and crew produce that is evident in every episode. The first season may seem confusing and overwhelming to take in at first, but after you manage to sit through it and watch how all the different plot lines and characters progress, you'll realize how crucial the first season was and how great it actually was. The character development and acting, not to mention the superbly done special effect, are what really stand out; and for good reason. Give this show a try and be part of the ever-growing fan-base or just check out what all the fuss is about. However biased it may sound, this really is the best show I have ever had the fortune of watching over and over again. I hope many more continue to appreciate the overall greatness of the world George R. R. Martin has created.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Expensive garbage
Where do I even begin? Oh my... this script could have easily been written by a 10-year-old, practically every move and line of dialogue were predictable, clichéd, and downright cringy most of the time. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why this 'movie' gets any form of praise for the 'acting' that took place in this movie. The aforementioned acting was weak, not only did the story lack substance, but practically every interaction is inevitably guided towards infantile, unintelligent humor. The CGI/Animation were not up to the standard that we are accustomed to from Marvel, it was just flashy and all over the place. I usually try not to write any negative reviews, but this was just too much to handle. I am a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I was in awe as to how awful this movie was. Marvel movies have silly humor here and there but a good portion of the jokes are well placed in their movies, they can even be intelligent and memorable; but this... whatever this was... horrendous writing. If you are like me, and want to be up-to-date with what's happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that's why you chose to watch this movie, you didn't miss out on anything.
Game of Thrones: The Spoils of War (2017)
What an episode
Plot armor is at its finest in this episode but that in no way strongly diminishes the enthrallment and sheer excitement this episode causes. Absolutely gorgeous sights and cinematography. Many reunions and conflicts arising; not to mention well-done character development. Another spectacular episode with fantastic music and great performances. This episode further reinforces how great this season is thus far. You can almost see where the budget was put into place and why this season is shorter than the previous one's, thanks to episodes like this.
Suits: Divide and Conquer (2017)
One of the best seasons so far
Another great episode that hits all the right notes. Wonderful music as usual. Much of the conflict that takes place is what you would come to expect from a 'Suits' episode, but it somehow remains fresh and enthralling regardless. Everybody is trying to adjust to their new position and it's still interesting to see how each character copes with the consistently changing situations. Even though many of them continue to break the rules, its always intriguing to see how they reconcile with one another and solve the problems that they often cause. Worth the watch.
Game of Thrones: The Queen's Justice (2017)
Worth the wait every week
What can I say? This show is phenomenal, and this episode is no exception. The editing, performances, visuals, writing, its baffling to just admire it. A long awaited event has finally happened and the actors keep outdoing themselves with almost every scene. Even though some conversations may seem to go on for too long, their importance is evident in the end by the results. If you are contemplating as to whether or not you should watch this episode, please do.
Suits: Mudmare (2017)
Louis Litt at his best
I cannot stress enough on how great Rick Hoffman is as Louis Litt. As the characters do what they can to deal with the consistent changes in the firm, conflict arises, as it usually does in this entertaining series. It's very interesting to see how each of them cope and reconcile with one another and dwell further into some of their motivations. The season continues to impress and add new aspects to the show. Overall a pretty good episode.
Game of Thrones: Stormborn (2017)
Season continues to deliver spectacularly
First off, I cannot emphasize just how exemplary the editing and the music can be. This episode was thrilling, hilarious and heartbreaking simultaneously. A couple of unexpected reunions occur and they are almost tear-inducing. The cast persist on delivering wonderful performances and this episode also seems to be setting the stage for the remainder of the season; all hell is going to break loose very soon. Season 7 thus far seems to be off to a much better start than the previous season and it will hopefully be just as epic to witness. This series never fails to impress in every way and entertain in a visceral and masterful way throughout, and this episode is no exception.
Game of Thrones: Dragonstone (2017)
Winter has finally arrived and it is glorious
After the longest off-season of the show, we are immediately immersed into the world of ice and fire yet again. The episode does a marvelous job at setting the stage for the rest of the season. Practically every scene was very well done and every moment mattered. Simply wonderful character development portrayed by the powerful performances by the ever-growing cast of the show. The music, the cinematography, and the directing remain a marvel to witness. Definitely worth the watch.
Suits: The Statue (2017)
Season thankfully continues to deliver
'The Statue' is yet another well-done episode in the 7th season of 'Suits' and it allows us to observe more and more of the character's development. Surprisingly, and quite delightfully, we get to see Jessica Pearson for a couple of key scenes as a form of passing the torch to Harvey. Louis' character is interestingly developed from the previous episode as he copes with the grief of losing his fiancé, and the sessions with his psychiatrist are quite insightful. I think Rick Hoffman does a spectacular performance portraying Louis and he never disappoints. Even when it comes to the minor facial expressions and jolts, one can almost sense Louis' pain thanks to Rick Hoffman. Louis has come a long way since the beginning of the series. The remainder of the cast delivers quite splendidly as well with their trademark attitude and prowess.
Suits: Skin in the Game (2017)
Fantastic start to the season
A wonderful start to the 7th season of the show. Mike and Harvey are back in action together and whilst the legal drama may start off slowly, the interpersonal relationships are focused on immediately. The company has been struggling ever since Jessica left, but that doesn't mean they'll be off their game for long. Every single one of the cast gave powerful performances and i'm thankful the show hasn't lost its edge. I hope that this level of intensity, lovely soundtrack, and great performances will not diminish throughout the course of the season. A couple of 'F-bombs' are thrown in there for a change, and they are implemented perfectly. If you are considering going back and catching up with the show, I strongly advise you do.
