Tough film to watch but you still love it and feel happy to enjoy it while you get sad thinking of how tough is life, typical perfect performance from Frances with top quality casting which makes you feel that all those old actors are telling their own true life stories.

I'm not Indian same like this movie as it can fit every nation ... What an incredible acting skills from Irrfan Khan and Deepak ... Hats off for script n dialogue .. a must watch hidden gem that will make deeply laugh in z first half n hurt your heart in z second one ... During laughs n crying tears movie is delivering it's respectful message crafted perfectly straight to your mind shaking your soul n enlightening your sight .. I recommend everyone to watch other Irrfan movies like Qarib Qarib Singlle n Karwaan

An outstanding unforgettable masterpiece with a superb acting by Hawkins n Hawke especially Sally
Can't believe that both are didn't nominated for an absolute deserved Oscars
It's a shame that a simple real movie like Maudie couldn't make it just because it's a low budget Canadian funded movie!!!
Hats off for the two clever women director and writer and also cinematography
Do yourself a favour and watch this classic which will fill your life of joy and happiness despite a lot of tears you will drop

Good movie with many Egyptian goofs

Nice acting and costume designing but Ashraf Marawan wasn't the creator of the shepherd idea at all it was president Sadaat ... Sami Sharaf prison and Nasser presidential palace decoration are Moroccan not Egyptian ... Some of actors arabic accent was Lebanese not Egyptian ... There's no Egyptian or even Arabic name called Babak ... It's forbidden for Egyptian officers to have beards ... It never happened to broadcast an Egyptian football match via English TV in early 70's ... Also how come that Sami Sharaf is been called to meet president Nasser after his death!!!
