Night Stand (1995)
It's simply the sharpest comedy series ever! Stack is sensational with pay off lines and it's well scripted and acted. Absolutely great.
It's simply the sharpest comedy series ever! Stack is sensational with pay off lines and it's well scripted and acted. Absolutely great.
Full of catch phrases, Stack plays host Dick Dietrick who claims the show attracts mostly losers 18-30.
It ran for 3 years but way ahead of its time. The comedy is thoroughly rib tickling
Even Jerry Springer made an appearance in one episode. 'With Jerry asking the enthused 'Dick'......are you even on in Chicago?
Dick- We try to keep out of the big cities ! Triple LOL
The only way to see it is on YouTube.
If you want cheering up, this is the absolute business.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Never going to happen
I said at the time, if there's a sequel, it had to be made in the 90's at the latest.
The chemistry never works so late after the original IMHO.
No real blame. The script is ok, acting average, sets are weak.
All in all the punchlines are weak and it needed sharper editing.
Back to the original for the 100th rib tickling time.
Murdertown (2018)
Lacks atmosphere and direction
Katherine Kelly is a fine actress but totally wrong for this series. Firstly, the credits state....starring.......it's a documentary for crikes sake.
Needs a much stronger voice over to help the flow.
Good title but the overall production is clumsy and lacks a real ouch.
Happy Birthday, Toby Simpson (2017)
Thoroughly engaging and entertaining
I must say it took 10 mins or so to get hooked, but the moment Edyta Budnik came into play......boom.
One of the best girl next door/free spirits to hit the big screen in an age.
The story is well crafted and simplistic. One minor criticism, the script could have handled more dialogue from the front two reducing the amount of music scenes. The male lead was succinctly nerdy but added weight to the part in droves.
Truly one of the best feel good movies in quite a while.
Get on it!
