Bruised (2020)
Depressing
I am just watching this film on Netflix and I just find it so depressing that people can find enjoyment in watching people in desperation.
Inflicting terrible violence on people is not something I can enjoy.
The Eagle Has Landed (1976)
A romantic view of the IRA
Donald Sutherland plays a lovable rogue - playing into the romantic delusion that an independent Ireland is more important than defeating Nazi Germany.
I do not think so. This myth led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians - I find that despicable. So, make of the film what you will.
Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar (2019)
Laughable
I am only 20 minutes into this title and I find it hard to believe that anyone could take the film seriously. Akin to an amateur dramatic show.
Still, it takes all sorts but this was not for me. Sorry.
Midsomer Murders: Death by Persuasion (2017)
Another classic Midsommer - great cast, very funny, English irony
I am watching this as I write and it is a typically well done and researched British murder mystery (Magdalen College - surely you pronounce that 'Maudlin' says Barnaby - aka Neil Gudgeon).
Don't know who 'dun it' yet - but I can spot a liar by the tremour of an eyebrow. Not the tremor of an earthquake.

Doc West (2009)
Dire
I was watching this on the Freeview 'movies-for-men' channel (I'm retired - what else can I say) in the UK. I thought - wow, you can see the wrinkles in the false forehead attached to the wig the lead actress is wearing! So I thought - oh, this must be a pastiche.
BUT NO - this is a modern (2009 not 1979 or 1969 or 1909!) film. This is for real.
Well 'Gee Mister Dylan, Dillon - Marshall Dillon' said Chester. 'I n'er wood a guest'.
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
