The ranking is very approximate and shouldn't be taken as exact comparisons. Basic guidelines are:
1-11 are all films of the highest quality and are achievements as art
12-26 are all films of top quality production that are definitely worth viewing the same as the very top
27-29 are lacking just a bit too much to be considered "great films" but are still very good and worth watching but only after the others since they are a priority
I hope someone finds this useful somehow!

Dunkirk (2017)
A Different Kind Of Masterpiece. Nolan Refuses To Follow Suit Again
Just like Interstellar, there is no doubt that this is a flawed film but the films that truly cement their place as classics in cinema are the imperfect ones. To truly create a masterpiece that changes cinema, you have to be bold. You have to be different. Nolan does just that yet again and I forgive flaws for ambition yet again.
The main complaint for this film that everyone seems to have is the main reason I loved it so much as many others did. War is brutal. Not because of the blood and guts as doctors see that in hospitals every day. It's brutal because when you're out there, alone, no one cares about you. You are just one soldier in a huge war. If (and most likely when) you die, you're forgotten in an instant. There isn't a heroic death or amazing last words or witty dialogue and a good few laughs before you die because the world just turns to black suddenly. That's the clear message that Nolan is putting forwards in this masterwork of art. The film itself is a metaphor to show how insignificant the one man is compared to the 400,000. Despite there being VERY little dialogue, I was constantly on the edge of my seat sat up very straight and clutching to the arm rests. This is because I didn't care about any particular, I cared about everyone. All 400,000 were on the line and I feared for every one of them. That is the true genius with this film. That is why Nolan is definitely on the level of Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock. He has shown that the war genre can be completely revolutionised and any old tropes can be completely eliminated.
Aside from the genius in the overall message of the film, the film itself is beautifully filmed and I would argue it is Christopher Nolan's best work as a director easily (even if it isn't his best film). I have never literally felt breath taken by a scene because it's just a figure of speech but I was genuinely barely breathing and not moving at all during some awe inspiring shots, particularly the ones involving spitfires scanning the horizon and ships tipping over. Barely any films have shots this ambitious, relentless, and incredible to behold.
The score was also unbelievable and revolutionary. Hans Zimmer's experimental work with Interstellar where he used noises rather than music pieces has definitely payed off at this point. I would argue the score is even better in this film. Every clock tick, horn and ominous strings instrument in the background added to the intensity of all scenes. Furthermore, it takes a genius to know when you need to be silent and the score is almost silent when it needs to be. I have never heard a more well placed and paced score or sound design in any other film.
Lastly, IMAX undoubtedly makes the experience infinitely better. Despite the screen being twice the size and having a higher quality, it's the sound that takes the stage here. The surround sound gives you goosebumps. You feel every bullet, artillery strike, bomb and explosion in this film when watching it in IMAX.
Overall, there is no doubt that the lack of characters and individual emotion is a flaw that I can't ignore which means this is far from a perfect film (hence the 9 score) yet I got closet to crying than 90% of films I have watched. One of the only films that hit me emotionally on this level is Interstellar but the fact that this film gave me "the feels" just as much is amazing. I won't spoil the actual moment itself but people who have already watched it will know what I'm talking about. The patriotic moment in question that occurs towards the end of the film was just incredible and nearly had me in tears mainly due to the very talented cast and their minor, subtle yet powerful roles.
This film isn't perfect but it's one of a kind and has given me an experience that I will probably never forget for the rest of my life. If I'm rich in future, I'm buying an IMAX theatre to install at home just so I can watch Nolan films like this because no other war film or any film for that matter will give you an experience anything like this.
9.5/10
Game of Thrones: Stormborn (2017)
Very entertaining, even if it's no longer as intelligent without the books
As much as I'd like to talk about specifics, I don't want to risk spoilers so I'll just talk about pros and cons in a handy list however I'll drop one little spoiler later on so watch out.
Pros:
+Great direction and cinematography as always
+Great production design as always
+Great acting from the whole cast, mainly Maisie who is getting much more human moments rather than the robotic role she had in seasons 5 & 6
+Great moments in both dialogue (doesn't mean the writing is good quality, just entertaining) and action, specifically the end which was incredibly entertaining (even if it was a tad bit too unrealistic)
Cons:
-Without the books, the dialogue will always suffer but it is better than usual and definitely better than the average show today
-Too fast paced for me personally. I like the characters and plot lines converging but I want a but more time to process things. For example, Melisandre is in and out in like 1 minute and forgot about her existence by the end of the episode.
-Ill admit, it was the trailers and a couple of set leaks that ruined the show for me but it's still a bit too predictable. I don't think shock value makes the show any better like some people but it's still not good to make things very predictable because it just feels convenient for the viewer which ruins the emotion (For example, SPOILER WARNING SPOILERS!!! when Euron kills Obara and Nymeria, it's obvious they are keeping the least annoying Sand Snake alive who showed her "assets" to the audience as they are cutting down on hated characters. If they were going to kill the Sand Snakes, they should have just killed them all, I doubt Tyene would just give up like she does in the episode.
-I love the books a lot but I don't care about accuracy in adaptations. However, some people do. Let's just say it's gotten worse. The books have been 100% abandoned at this point. Just a warning to religious book fans who hate the divergence in the show
Overall, a solid 8.5/10. Classic GoT episodes from the season 4 days would be a perfect 10 for me so 8.5 is a decent score for the start of this season considering they no longer have the books to follow. I respect that they are trying and it's still very entertaining television even if it isn't as amazing as it was a couple of years ago. For me, seasons 5-7 is like The Hobbit Trilogy. Just because the Lord of the Rings are perfect films that no one has ever matched up to, it doesn't make the Hobbit bad, it's just not as good. Still entertaining just like these past 3 seasons even if they can't surpass the already perfect seasons which were 1-4
12 Angry Men (1957)
Definitely Deserves the Praise
This film is nothing short of perfection. I don't want to do a huge review so I'll sum up why it's so brilliant.
Great actors Great believable script Very original concept Shot cleverly (lack of close ups unless it's really necessary. Because the effect isn't used much, it is more effective) No complaints or plot holes of any kind.
I encourage anyone to watch this film!
K-PAX (2001)
It was pretty bad. Nothing noteworthy
My R.S teacher made me watch this but she completely misunderstood the meaning. It was just boring and hasn't achieved anything another hasn't achieved before. Also we broke a Lindt chocolate bunny and it went all over the carpet which was more interesting than the whole film. Please don't watch this
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Surprisingly intelligent, psychological and filled with endless likable characters
Most anime, film or TV series of this style would be filled with boring droned out fist fights with no meaning but this show really is something special.
Story: It's best if you walk in knowing nothing. A kid called Gon is 12 years old and seeks out his father by attempting to become a Hunter (a prestigious title and job that Gon's father gave up his own son just to become). The story is split into several distinct Arcs which could all be separate shows because they are that detailed and unique.
Quality: No one can deny the animation quality is incredible. One of if not the best I've ever seen. Very low usage of CGI. Outstanding art and style too.
Fighting: I want to make it clear that this is nothing like Dragon Ball Z and other childish simplistic anime; the fighting in this anime is a mental battle as much as a physical one. It is incredibly thrilling to watch and every fight is filled with many twists and turns and tricks by both combatants. It is not about raw power.
Characters: This deserved a whole section on its own. The character in this anime are the best I have seen in anything ever. I have never ever liked 100% of a character roster or at least find them interesting but that's what it is like to watch Hunter x Hunter. I finished all 148 episodes in 5 days because of this reason. There are barely any simple black or white characters as most are in the gray area.
Summary: The writing is impeccable. Interesting and likable characters are in abundance. The quality is breathtaking. The story is extremely unique and is fun, terrifying and incredibly emotional when it needs to be. I'm genuinely struggling to find flaws. The Chimera Ant Arc is a bit too long and some sections get dragged out too far but the end makes up for it as it the most unbelievable sequence of episodes in history. PLEASE JUST WATCH THIS ALREADY!!!
