You should have ended it with Halloween kills
20 February 2023
Why spend the money to bring back so many franchise characters from years past just to not kill Michael Myers in Halloween Kills because Halloween Ends is completely unnecessary and it shows throughout the entire film.

The movie plot and script was horrible and the acting was bad all-around, Ms. Curtis as well. But the grand daughter was the worst by far. The entire premise was ridiculously stupid.

Don't waste your time on this movie. Watch Halloween Kills and just imagine that Michael was torn apart and burned to ash by the towns people of Haddonfield, which is how the franchise should have ended in the first place.

Joe Pickett (2021–2023)
10/10
I was hooked in the first 10 minutes
12 August 2022
Joe Pickett may look like your average Joe but he is anything but. This is a great family show at a time when tv seems to have gotten away from them. Think The Commish but filmed in the gorgeous state of Wyoming where Joe is the new Game Warden. Joe has a smart lawyer wife and two daughters with another baby on the way.

The series opens with a tense confrontation with a local hunter/poacher that almost cost both men their lives. It isn't long after that this very same poacher turns up dead on Joe's wood stack. Joe is left on his own to solve the mystery with little to no help from the sleevy town sheriff. But the town is corrupt and the town folk make things difficult and dangerous for Joe and his family.

The mystery of who killed the poacher, why, and how he got left on Joe's property will expose town secrets and corruption which no one seems to be above.

Lore (2017–2018)

Season one was excellent then came Prime's season two
6 June 2022
If you've ever listened to the Lore podcast, it has a certain flow to it. The stories are told so well that you can picture the events in your head. Part thriller + part history lesson = AWESOME Podcast. And that is how the first season of the Lore series on Amazon went. It was like seeing the podcast. In season two you immediately notice that something has changed, and not for the better. Prime took what was a great little weekly show and tried to make movies out of it. BIG MISTAKE. They made it boring and ridiculously SLOOOOW.

Watch the first few episodes of season one and the one of season two and you'll what I'm talking about. I still love the podcast and hope that someone just lets Aaron tell his own stories, in his own way - like a 'ripley's believe it or not' hourly show centered around man's creepy and often disturbing history.

Rocky (1976)
10/10
A Philly girls perspective
20 October 2017
I have two favorite movies so far in my life. Movies so good that if I pass them channel surfing, I have to stop and watch them. These would be Jaws and my all-time favorite Rocky. Don't think that because I'm a woman that Rocky is anywhere near a chick flick, but it's not a jock boxing movie either. This movie is personal to me because I've walked the streets it's filmed on. I've lived the struggle of Philly life. This movie touches my soul and makes me proud every time I watch it.

Rocky is a down on his luck 2nd rate boxer who gets a once in a lifetime chance to fight for the heavyweight title. The movie isn't about winning or losing. Its about what someone can do given a chance. It's about rising to the challenge, going the distance and being proud of yourself in the end. Rocky is more than just a movie in Philadelphia. It's a mantra. A badge of honor. And something we brag about like one of our kids. Rocky, to a Philly native, is just as much the story of the quality of the citizens of Philadelphia as it is about this one man's struggle. We identify with him. We root for him. And we feel like his journey is our own. Any movie that can lift up an entire city is certainly worth watching.

The acting is superb, the music is both iconic and uplifting and the scenery is authentic. If you want to be inspired, engaged and excited, then watch Rocky. It won't let you down.

The Babysitter (I) (2017)
7/10
All the tween horror a parent can stand
13 October 2017
All the "tween horror" a parent can stand.

10-13-17. I just watched the new Netflix movie The Babysitter. I have to say it was a fun, campy, coming of age horror that is lacking today. With McG directing, it's a good mix of real life, comedy and horror that make for an entertaining good time. From the beginning you're all in with the 12 year old boy who lead who has a bully, a girl as a best friend and parents that still think he needs a babysitter. Fortunately for him, his babysitter is a bit of a beautiful bad ass. Too bad she also dabbles in the occult. And that's when the fun starts. Good deaths mixed with humor are what make this movie a good watch that keeps you engaged the whole time.

Se7en (1995)
9/10
Awesome, twisted serial killer flick
10 April 2017
Se7en is one of my favorite movies. I guess that says a lot about me. I can't pass it by when flicking through my cable guide. Every time I watch it I see or hear something new. Morgan Freeman is superb as a tired and emotionally beaten down cop getting ready to retire. Brad Pitt is very convincing as a young new detective running his first serial killer investigation with all the nerves and ambitious recklessness you'd expect from having to partner with a veteran on his last case before retirement. The duo face a witty killer who kills based on the seven deadly sins. The real stars of this movie are the writer, director and set designers for presenting incredibly intricate and graphic murder scenes and making all the characters likable. The writing is deep and you have to pay attention to every detail. As the bodies mount you find yourself counting down each deadly sin to the incredible climax and shocking but truly awesome ending. You can't go wrong with the cast assembled in Se7en. It's a great movie for whodunit fans that like a little more tension and voyeurism in their crime dramas. It will not disappoint.
