UFO (2018)
Sincere and honest.
A simple low budget film that conveyed a we'll used theme in an honest and heartfelt way. The characters are pleasingly straightforward and nice to each other, no dysfunctional emotions and social issues between them which is unusual for modern movies. I enjoyed it a lot more than other big budget cgi laden films of the same genre.

Nyad (2023)
Whales ego bosses the sea
If this is a true and accurate depiction of Nyads character then I feel sorry for anyone who had to suffer her presence.
As for the movie I felt embarrassed for Jodie Foster, I'm sure she took the part for the right reasons, and I really like watching her skill normally, but this part does her no favours. Bennings portrayal of Nyads is nauseatingly offensive to watch, what an arrogant ego tripping bullying narcissistic old woman.
I was cheering the sharks on, then I started watching something else.
Amateur direction, poor dialogue, interspersed with real footage which h didn't improve anything whatsoever.
How do films like this get 7+? What am I missing, anyone?
Oppenheimer (2023)
Boring and unintelligible
Disjointed, with no story threading any of the 3hoirs of clips together. Too long and left me wondering what points were the makers trying to make? None in my opinion, I should no better though as the more a film gets hyped up in general the worse it gets. The soundtrack at times obscured meaning and dialogue. This time hopping style of filmmaking only works with a good storyline and this had none. What a shame and what a waste. The tv series was a 10 compared to this.
The characters had insufficient back story leaving them with no credibility.
I like to call this kind of movie an emporerers new clothes film, everyone says it is great because they want it to be and need to go with the crowd. All show, no right stuff.
Invasion (2021)
No grown ups except for the children
Slow maybe but the most aggravating aspect is the self obsessed, unthinking, immature narrow minded empty headed adult characters. All so invested in their own needs,no concept of what is going on, self absorbed brainwashed twits. A soldier who can only shout at Arabic people in English, who can't function with his men, who lies about his girlfriend. Parents more interested in hating each other and his bit of skirt than their children,a secretive lesbian wandering about starry eyed gormless ly trying to find something to blame. If this lot represent a sample of adults in 2023 then we won't need aliens,we are doomed.
The only worthwhile storyline and character is the epileptic boys path to standing up for himself
I am awestru k at the sheer incompetence and inability of them all, the emotional dysfunctional no common sensi Al boring plonkers.
Megan Leavey (2017)
Disappointing , SPOILERS.
Such a shame that such a rewarding and courageous story , was let down by a muddling of events regarding the return of Max and the discharge of Megan from the Marines. Whilst I appreciate the harrowing awfulness of the combat experience , I found it immensely disappointing she did not return to Iraq with Max after the had both recuperated , and thus the rest of the story was meaningless to me. As a lifelong dog owner , I could not understand how she could let Max return to the war zone without going along to look after him , as she spent the whole second half of the movie demonstrating how much she loved and cared for him , and how he could not work any more, nor cope in the field. This contradiction of her her so called devotion to the dog made the movie very weak , almost pointless. A true Hero would have returned regardless of his/her feelings and problems to save a loved one.
A Dog's Purpose (2017)
A bit too long...
The idea for the story is good , original even but I didn't find it carried enough weight to work more than once , maybe twice. Consequently I found the movie too long, and the story line repetitive. The characters are full though , and the dog training is excellent not being visible at all. Also it seemed aimed at a younger audience though the main subject line could be considered a bit heavy man.
