Perfect balance of comedy and drama
26 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Full disclosure. Huge fan of Ben Whishaw. I pretty much think his acting abilities are some of the best in the biz... he doesn't disappoint.

I'd actually put off watching the series for a few days because I felt so invested in it being brilliant. I felt that it was. Perfect really.

Adam's character the right balance of hilarious and pitiful.

The realities of life in the NHS for staff. They way Adam is shunned by a working class doctor for being a public school boy yet he pretty much finds the middle class lifestyle abhorrent.

It's one of those series with so many jokes that you've got to watch it through two or three times to get them all.

Fabulous series.

Outstanding Performances and Scriptwriting
26 February 2022
I've always been a fan of Sandra Bullock but that was outstanding. From all the other actors too... the intensity was felt throughout the film.

Excellent script writing. Not often that I'm surprised by a twist but I was this time.

It would have been a ten from me but I like a little bit of a rounder ending. An epilogue so to speak.

Haunted: Demon in the Dark (2018)

Jeremy Kyle Does Most Haunted... the aftermath.
20 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously.

Boring.

Episode.

It's was more about her sassing her mum for not believing her as a child than it was about a demon.

Not being funny but if my lad told me he was seeing ghost etc... I'd tell him it was probably a dream to.

Honestly the whole thing was more like watching a really really weird episode of Jeremy Kyle where the daughter had dragged her Mum on to hunmiliate her for not believing that she was being 'haunted'.

Haunted: The Slaughterhouse (2018)
Season 1, Episode 2

It's been 24 hours and I'm still not over it...
20 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously, can't get over that I sat through that episode.

Are we supposed to believe that that was a true story?

As if the unreported serial killer aspect wasn't bad enough to show goes on to add the Native American burial ground aspect... oh and not to forget the spirits the serial killer was conjuring.

Then the bloody handprints appearing literally two seconds after the woman returns to the house.

The only scary moment in this programme is when they are all shouting about burning the house down and the older sister (Sadie) whispers in the creepiest voice I've ever heard that "the evil will never be gone" ... literally jumped out my skin.

Is this real or is it not real?

Warning: Spoilers
It's just sort of annoying trying to figure out if this is a fiction or non-fiction. I mean I'm not bothered if it's fiction... most things I watch are but trying to sit there and believe these things is just kind of exhausting.

Episode one. Good strong 8. Believable but you sort of wonder wether his childhood has more to do with what he's seeing that the actual supernatural.

Episode two. What the. So what these two sisters witness their Dad killing hundreds of people and their Mum watches on and they never tell the police or anyone... intact the Mum still lives with the older sister. Oh and the older sister lets her child spend time with he serial killer dad where he grooms him and he knows where all the bodies are buried but still doesn't bother to tell anyone??? But as if the serial killer father and enabler mother isn't enother there's the whole Native American burial ground and conjuring of spirits stuff going on too... yeah. Just can't get my head round it now. I've even googled to try and see if it's true but can't.

I get the premise. But if it's not true maybe tone down the stories a bit and it might actually be scarier.

Hugh Grants been wasted on Hollywood Rom-Coms
21 May 2018
Wow... what a transformation. Annoying bumbling mad-blinking Hollywood heartthrob to credible actor while still keeping his English charm. You can't not love Hugh Grant's portrayal. With faultless witty writing by Russell T Davies; his best in years - and the light comedic direction is just the cherry on top of a lovely cake!

Ben Whishaw's protrayal of Norman Scott is often light and innocent with a dark foreboding centre... much like the ending of the first episode!

We even get a glimpse into 1960s politics, but not to much mind, just a slice which prevents the story from becoming overly complicated.

All in all - a jolly good job!
