How to Stage a Coup (2017)
Very Interesting title...and that's it.
The premise of this documentary is very fascinating and is probably a question in all our historical minds; how to stage a coup, i got very excited and imagined seeing the details of how someone would take power, bribe guards to imprison the leader, having secret supporters rising to help...etc. But unfortunately it doesn't even answer its own question, they say Caesar staged a coup, then said he was charismatic, smart and had a good military record, and that's how he did it. Just like that for every single one. Its very uninteresting and quite boring seeing that all of this information was known before. They also added the Lenin takeover as a coup, which was weird, and they summed up Hitler's and Napoleon's failures as ignoring the rule number 1 in warfare: never march on moscow, at that moment i felt as though these historians were a bunch of idiotic kids, it was quite stupid really. So to sum up, it was uninteresting, boring and stupid, it lacked focus and the historians made some really stupid and outrageous remarks, they even contradicted each other once. Very badly made.
Game of Thrones: Dragonstone (2017)
Not quite enough....
After a spectacular opening to the episode with Arya playing Walder Frey, and Cersei trying to show her ruling skills and Jon Snow's Scene at the beginning the episode just took a nose dive and became boring and uninspiring. Sam's scenes really dragged on apart from when Ser Jorah(maybe) reached out with his hands, that was the interesting thing to come out of the citadel. And that really unnecessary cameo from Ed Sheeran that made me think that if there was any meaning to the scene other than to show that Arya is going to King's Landing. The Hound Scene with the brotherhood was okay. And then Daenerys only had one sentence of dialogue, What? For an Episode named Dragonstone I Expected much more from her. Everything apart from the first 15 minutes is sub-par. And I only gave it an 8 because of the amount of hype I had before the episode, maybe I'll change it to 7/10 later. I wasn't that disappointed but i think some scenes dragged on for too long and some ended abruptly.
I apologize for any disorganization or grammar mistakes in the review, this is my first review on IMDb and English is not my first language. I hope this review was informative enough and remember; this is my opinion. Thank you.
