Poirot: Five Little Pigs (2003)
the best episode of the series
The best one by all means, the acting, music, emotions, suspense, Suchet not as dark as in last season, rather compassionate. I never red the book, nevertheless, not keeping 100% to the book doesnt have to be bad thing of course. I feel as a mix of Mrs Williams (nanny) and Mr Blake (eyes full of tears and booze to make it easier)
incredible adaptation
Poirot: Murder on the Orient Express (2010)
by far the worst episode of amazing series
David Suchet is the best Poirot ever but even his performance couldn't save this adaptation from being notoriously bad. In 1974 version all other characters had more charm and better lines than Poirot (Finley) itself, however maybe that is exactly what makes that version far superior to this one. We audience can feel them, their stories, we care about them. Not to mention amazing cast, costumes, eccentrics, music and humor. Perfect for relax and enjoy on cold winter day. 2010 Murder on the Orient Express is so dark and centered around dark Poirot so it makes sunny summer day depressing. Despite loving this series so much, I am sorry but this version is unwatchable. Similar can be said for Evil under the sun with Peter Ustinov vs modern version, awhile Suchet's Murder on the Nile with interesting acting choice and extraordinary music and ambience, humor can match old movie
Sputnik (2020)
Hello Tatyana Klimova. Good evening Konstantin Veshnyakov
I wanted to like it, I gave it a chance but I couldn't watch it all the way until the end. No character development (except Tatyana), slow, boring and depressing. The constant addressing to people by both first and last name is do distracting. I understand Russian enough to watch movie without subtitles but this formal talk goes to my nerves and simply make the movie unwatchable.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 15: The Believer (2020)
the worst episode of the series
We waited for a week to see the next episode after the most spectacular one, and what we got? the worst episode of the series yet. the worst by far. this was so bad I even don't know from where to start. the only positive aspect is we saw the imperial troopers' point of view. that was nice touch. wish we had more of that. But can someone please explain why Mayfeld kept his helmet off once they reached base? is there any explanation or logic or common sense for that? once he realized he cant go to scan data without helmet he suggested to call off the mission. what about going back to transporter and get his bloody helmet back? put it on go to that room casually, and once get scan, remove helmet for sec, and put back on. no one would pay attention. mission complete. then Mando goes in and tries face scan with helmet on? what he expected? is he that stupid? of course not. just a bad writing. We know by now Mando is not stupid. Then we got to see his face for way too long. but why? what stopped him to put helmet on once he completed scan? he stood there wooden in front of that nicely portraited nazi imperial officer. what is your name? where you from? I expected Homer Simpson's cameo here. Cloud with monkey in his brain. They completed mission, Mayfeld was released of his captivity and he stayed there on that planet? why? why not said: can you give me a lift to somewhere else? I am still in shock how bad this episode was
The Mandalorian: Chapter 11: The Heiress (2020)
Bryce Dallas Howard at her finest
Great job by Bryce Dallas Howard who directed the weakest episode in my liking before (s01 ep4). This show keeps us amazed and once we think wow the best episode so far they come up with even better one.
Perfect sound effects in this and appropriate scores to follow twists, action scenes, damaged ship, suspense... We got all of the Star Wars in this episode: beautiful planet approach, smelly harbor, dodgy inn, classy imperial ship, aliens, creatures, heroes and villains, bits of comic relief and insane action.
Keep 'em coming
The Twilight Zone: It's a Good Life (1961)
I dare to say: It is a bad episode
Dunno what is all the fuzz about this episode. One of the worst and pointless. Why no one even tried hitting the "monster" in orchestrated mutiny is beyond me. Just take the chance and risk, nothing to lose as already had no life
Eyes of Laura Mars (1978)
one of the scariest films from my childhood
Blimey i forgot about this film completely. it was one of the scariest films i saw as child. born in late 70's... i can recall the scare i had after watching it. must rewatch again to see why i was so affraid of it. peculiar indeed
Us (2019)
the worst movie I ever saw
Absolute trash from story to acting. Couldn't even manage to watch until end, had to skip it few time. The father was incredibly dumb throughout entire movie.
how this movie got high rating is beyond me
1/10 if there is 0 I would rate it that way.
Marple: The Body in the Library (2004)
much better than version with Joan Hickson
One of my fave adaptation of Miss Marple. lovely settings, beautiful Tarra Fitzgerald, welcomed plot twist, brilliant Lumley. To me this one is by far better than slow pale Body in the library with Joan Hickson. Not the most faithful version by any means but it is extremely enjoyable
