Eat the Rich: The GameStop Saga (2022)
Money and Mob Mentality
Initially how wall street takes advantage of average American investors, and how the average American investor got revenge on wall street.
Then it was a look at how Keith Gill misled average investors to profit off this giant scheme by using GameStock stock, Robinhood, and Reddit to make a ton of money for himself.
Then it was a look at how Robinhood's founders did the same thing by taking advantage of their own users.
Everyone is trying to take advantage of others to make money for themselves. That's the bottom line. Everyone is just trying to do it in the smartest way they can. It's a sad but interesting look of human behavior surrounding money and mob mentality.
How I Met Your Father (2022)
Legend... Wait for it... Maybe?
Hard core HIMYM fan here, watched it through many times and dressed up as Robin Sparkles for Halloween, bought the yellow umbrella, etc.
Thoughts so far on HIMYF after reading other reviews:
- This show is obviously going to have very high expectations, much higher than any other show. Keep in mind that it's only the first two episodes so far
- HIMYM had an all white, heterosexual cast, so writers took audience's feedback and added a lot of diversity. Seriously asking, how is that a bad thing?
- It is a bit cheesy, especially combined with the laugh track (which I was hoping they would drop but oh well), but the original show had it's cheesy moments too. It's also a sitcom, and I've genuinely never watched a sitcom that wasn't a least a LITTLE cheesy
- Stop saying the main character should be more attractive! Hillary Duff is literally gorgeous and Ted was very average, the only reason people wanted someone "hotter" is because the main character is now a woman
- Honestly, just give it a chance. It has potential. I like what they're doing differently so far.
- Also, it includes a great nod to the original that all HIMYM fans will be very happy to see!!
The Great British Bake Off: The Final (2021)
Best Season Ever!
This was THE best season of the Great British Baking Show!! I would've been so happy with any of the winners, but I have been specifically rooting for the person who ended up winning from the very beginning. All three deserved it. I hope they are all successful and have future bakeries to share with others.
The Great British Bake Off: Patisserie Week (2021)
Wow.
This was probably the best episode of the semi-finals this show has had so far. All four of these bakers deserved a chance to compete in the finals. Although I agree with the overall winner of the show, I'm so surprised they decided to elimate ANYONE in this episode, because everyone was just THAT good. I was not happy with who they decided to eliminate, but I wouldn't have been happy with them eliminating anyone from this round.
Sex Education: Episode 3 (2021)
I'm getting high in Minneapolis!
This one has a startling opening that is a bit bloody and shocking, but it's not as horrible as some are saying. The episode as a whole is still really good. I love seeing the characters do things that you may not have guessed they would do, but it still works and doesn't seem out of place. Also I live in Minneapolis and I enjoyed the reference to it in this episode.
Sex Education: Episode 2 (2021)
Keeping strong
I don't know how the writers develop these characters SO well. It's like you can relate to each of them in a different way. I also like the new characters they've introduced, and the changes they're making to the plot actually make sense and move the story forward without seeming too narrated or forced. I can tell this season's going to be fantastic.
Sex Education: Episode 1 (2021)
IT'S BACK!!!!
Season 3 starts off so strong. I've built it up a lot in my head after the anticipation, but this definitely delivers. The only thing is, I feel like the principal is going to act like she's cool at first but then become a more Umbridge-like character. I would be more surprised if she were to actually be as chill as she seems.
Lego Masters: Movie Genres (2020)
Judges made the wrong decision
Loved this episode concept, but it was the wrong decision to send home Manny and Nestor. Their Western/Fantasy build was so good, and they did not deserve to be sent home. The judges would pick the dumbest things to criticize each team for. They're supposed to be helping each team, not just sowing doubt.
Manny and Nestor deserved better.
