Overall Veere Di Wedding is a BOLD attempt to break stereotypes, the box office shall speak for itself.
30 June 2018
VEERE DI WEDDING

Duration : 123 Minutes Genre : Drama/Comedy

CAST Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, Shikha Talsania : The 4 female leads, who were strong in their characters, each one of their performances had their own spark and were applause worthy in their own ways. The chemistry between the 4 is beautiful. The supporting cast included Sumeet Vyas, Neena Gupta, Vivek Mushran, Manoj Pahwa, they were all the toppings of the cake, which well suited the whole cast assemble.

PLOT 4 school friends who were now at different stages of life, each one facing their own sets of problems and yet friendship glued them together. Veere Di Wedding is lighthearted, yet opens up eyes of the mediocre mindset. There were a lot of shocking dialogues and scenes, which were probably first timers in Bollywood. (definitely not advised for kids hence R21).

SOUNDTRACK We all have been loving Badshah's Tareefan since a while now, however the title track Veere surely reminds everyone of their Veeres. I personally enjoyed the foot tapping Bhangra Ta Sajda as well.

Race 3 (2018)
4/10
Overall, the BRAND Salman Khan speaks for itself at the box office but Race 3 doesn't really leave a mark in the film archives.
30 June 2018
RACE 3

Duration : 160 Minutes Genre : Action Thriller

CAST Salman Khan : He plays Sikander Singh. Salman is now more known to be a brand name then an actor. Anil Kapoor : Plays Shamsher Singh, the weapon manufacturer, who holds up the Singh empire. Anil as we all know, is like fine wine, turns better with time. Bobby Deol : He plays Yash, Sikander's right hand. Bobby Deol is back with a bang, and gives an impressive comeback. Saqib Salim, Daisy Shah and Jacqueline Fernandez were suitable in their respective roles.

PLOT Being the 3rd installment of the Race series, Race 3 doesn't really impress. The storyline is basically about family rivalry, but choreographer turned Director Remo D'Souza doesn't execute it well. Abbas Mustan definitely did better direction in the first 2 movies.

SOUNDTRACK Unlike Race & Race 2, the tracks of Race 3 are a mess. Only the theme song Allah Duhai Hai is impressive.

Sanju is APPLAUSE worthy! Take a bow Ranbir Kapoor & Rajkumar HIrani.
30 June 2018
SANJU

Duration : 129 Minutes Genre : Biopic

CAST Ranbir Kapoor : He plays Sanjay Dutt. I must say that this is Ranbir's best performance till date. He went into the soul of the character. Pure brilliance! Paresh Rawal : He plays Sunil Dutt. His performance was genuine and his on screen presence was strong and flawless. Vicky Kaushal : He plays Kamlesh, Sanjay Dutt's best friend. His role was equally vital and he performed really well in despite of sharing screen space with senior actors. Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala and Anushka Sharma : The whole female cast was well ensemble and all 4 portrayed their roles well. Jim Sarbh : He played God. Jim always outdoes himself, and he doesn't disappoint here.

PLOT As we all know Sanju is a Biopic on the different stages of Sanjay Dutt's Life. Raju Hirani not only displays Sanjay's life story but also teaches us life lessons (As he always does). There was a dialogue in the movie which said "The person with the most failures, has the best stories." Sanju is indeed those stories. Raju Hirani executes the script skillfully and one gets to see every emotion in it.

SOUNDTRACK Sanju's music doesn't really leave a mark except for the track Kar Har Maidaan Fateh which is extremely motivating as is also my favorite.

A realistic flick for a cinema lover!
12 May 2018
Genre : Drama Duration : 120 Minutes

Ishaan Khatter : Much known as the younger brother of Shahid Kapoor, is fantastic as a debutant. He completely nails the character of Aamir. He deeply performs all the emotions that a talented actor could bring out. Malavika Mohanan : She plays Tara, who is Aamir's sister. Her screen presence is equally strong. She complemented Ishaan well.

Story : The plot is centered around a brother and sister relationship, however it also teaches us that whatever happens in life, we should always be humble and kind towards others. The story & direction by Majid Majidi is beautiful but felt slightly lengthy in the last half hour. It is indeed an eye opener for audiences wanting to see the real Mumbai.

Music : The tracks & Background sound by AR Rahman are of a different league. No Favorites.

Overall, Beyond The Clouds is one of those realistic flicks, which every cinema lover should definitely watch.

102 Not Out (2018)

A light hearted flick which deserves a watch
12 May 2018
Duration : 102 Minutes Genre : Comedy Drama

CAST Amitabh Bachchan : He portrays Dattatraya, the 102 old man who is young by heart. Even today I would say that there is nobody like Amitabh Bachchan in the entire industry. He carries out the hardest roles with so much ease. He moulds himself so much into character that you start to believe he is a real individual. Rishi Kapoor : He portrays Babu, the 75 year old son who has accepted his old age. Rishi has been known for his versatility and he impresses no less. Jimit Trivedi : He portrayed Dhiru, assistant/helper to both the main leads. He had a sweet role.

PLOT 102 not out is based on a Gujarati play, about the relationship of a father and son and how a father even at a such an old age teaches the son about important life lessons. It was beautifully written by Saumya Joshi and well executed by director Umesh Shukla.

SOUNDTRACK The tracks of 102 not out are by Salim Sulaiman are below average and don't really leave a mark.

Overall 102 Not Out is a light hearted flick which is a deserving watch.

Raazi (2018)

A Spy thriller which is not to be missed!
12 May 2018
Duration: 140 Minutes Genre: Spy Thriller

CAST Alia Bhatt : She portrays Sehmat Khan. Alia is confident in her role. Sehmat represents a character who is brave and equally helpless and she performs this flawlessly, definitely one of Bollywood's most dedicated actress. Vicky Kaushal : He portrays Iqbal Syed, Sehmat's Pakistani husband. Vicky performed well with the limited screen space, he complemented Alia in every way. Rajit Kapoor who plays Hidayat Khan, Shishir Sharma who plays Brigadier Syed, and Jaideep Ahlawad who plays Khalid Mir were all vital supporting actors.

PLOT The story of Raazi is about an Indian girl who marries into a Pakistan army family in order to spy on them during the India - Pakistan war in 1971. The script is based on a book titled 'Calling Sehmat' by Harinder S Sikka, and it keeps you gripped thru out it's length. Director Meghna Gulzar, writes and directs beautifully.

SOUNDTRACK The tracks of Raazi are deep, meaningful and bring in that patriotic feel. Favorite track : Ae Watan.

Overall Raazi is spy thriller which is not to be missed. It's definitely a winner for Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures.

October (II) (2018)

October is watchable ONLY and ONLY because of Varun Dhawan!
14 April 2018
Duration : 115 Minutes Genre : Romantic Drama

Varun Dhawan : He plays Danish Walia (Dan), the sophisticated and irritating young adult. Varun has proved yet again that he is capable of performing such serious roles. He is the heart and soul of the movie. Banita Sandhu : She plays Shiuli Iyer. As a newcomer Banita looked confident despite of a minimal speech role.

Story : The plot of October surrounds around a boy and girl who are not lovers yet share an unusual bond after the lead female suffers a tragic accident. The pace of the movie was way to SLOW and coming from the director like Shoojit Sircar (Vicky Donor, Piku), October is definitely a turn down.

Music : As depressing as it sounds, October is song-less. However the violin instrumental playing constantly in the background is not so bad.

Overall October was watchable ONLY and ONLY because of Varun Dhawan.

My Ratings : 2/5

HICHKI is a LOW budget film, which will leave a HIGH impact on the audiences thru the word of mouth.
25 March 2018
Duration : 116 Minutes Genre : Drama

Rani Mukerji : She plays Naina Mathur, the teacher suffering from Tourette Syndrome. Rani Mukerji gives an award winning comeback with this one, one of her most challenging roles after Black. The scenes between her and the 14 rebelling students were applause worthy, heart warming and eye - tearing.

Story : Hichki's plot is not only about a teacher with a speech defect (Tourette Syndrome) who decides to teach these 14 unprivileged students, but it also teaches us about education equality in the system. Hichki (hiccups) here wasn't only referred as a physical disorder but also signified the hurdles that EVERYONE has in their life, and how one decides to overcome it.

Music : The tracks of Hichki are below average. No Favorites.

Overall HICHKI is a LOW budget film, which will leave a HIGH impact on the audiences thru the word of mouth.

Raid (2018)

Overall RAID is a unique genre out of a box which is definitely worth to be on a watchlist
17 March 2018
Duration : 128 Minutes Genre : Period Crime Thriller

Ajay Devgan : As one knows Ajay is well known for his serious action roles, in Raid he doesn't disappoint, he plays an honest Income Tax officer named Amay Patnaik. He's probably the only actor who could carry out the reel character with so much ease. Ileana D'Cruz : She plays Malini, wife of the income tax officer, despite of being a newer generation artist, she gave out a decent performance. Saurabh Shukla : He who enacts "Tauji" is great as an antagonist. Pushpa Joshi who plays Ammaji gives a good touch of humor.

Story : The script is inspired by the Income Tax raids which were conducted by the Indian Revenue Services back in the 1980s. The direction and editing is firm and the plot is refreshing. One gets to learn so much about the Indian taxation and raid system back then.

Music : Tracks by Amit Trivedi and Tanishk Bagchi could be considered average and were not much required in the story line, however the remake of Sanu Ik Pal sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is melodious.

Overall RAID is a unique genre out of a box which is definitely worth to be on a watch list.

PADMAN informs, educates and also entertains!
12 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Duration : 140 Minutes Genre : Biography/Drama

Akshay Kumar as Lakshmikant/ Padman, he mesmerizes once again. One of the best actors we have in the industry right now. He enacts his character effortlessly and steals the show, his 9 minute speech was mind blowing..best one till date. Sonam Kapoor as Pari, definitely not the fashionable Sonam we all know, she performs beautifully. Playing the supportive character, her chemistry with Akshay sizzles. Radhika Apte as Radhika, Her role was limited, yet she was able to leave an impact.

Story : It revolves on the story of a man who invents low cost sanitary pads. Based on the short story of the real Padman, Arunachalam Muruganantham... the script has been well written and directed by R Balki. The whole plot has a social message and creates awareness amongst men and women. The whole effort is applause worthy!

Music : The tracks of Padman are lovable, and suit well with the story. The Padman song is addictive and Aaj Se Teri is beautiful.

Padmaavat is history of the Rajputs unveiled, and undoubtedly a Must Watch!
25 January 2018
Duration : 164 minutes Genre : Period Drama

Shahid Kapoor... As Ratan Singh, the last Rajput ruler. Shahid looks kingly and worthy for his role, he shows immense power and bravery as a Rajput emperor. Deepika Padukone... As Padmaavati, the legendary Rajput queen. Deepika as known to be an artist who is beautiful and equally talented, she mesmerizes with her beauty, brains and emotions. Ranveer Singh... As Alauddin Khilji, the Afghan ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. Ranveer unveils his monstrous and vicious character; he immediately makes you hate him in his first few scenes, Definitely his best performance till date! Absolutely applause worthy... Both Jim Sarbh as Malik Kafur, the general slave of Alauddin and Aditi Rao Hydari as Mehrunisa, the wife of Alauddin blend in their characters well.

Story : Based on the epic poem Padmaavat (1540), the journey of a Rajput queen who performs Jauhar (self immolation) to protect herself from Khilji. The mastermind Sanjay Leela Bhansali turns poetry into motion in a very majestic way. His vision on the locations, props, lighting, battle scenes, costumes, background score is admirable.

Music : Unlike the much celebrated music of Bajirao Mastani, the music of Padmaavat is weak and unpromising. However the track Ek Dil Ek Jaan is beautiful and Ghoomar's choreography is worth a praise.

Overall Padmaavat is history of the Rajputs unveiled, and undoubtedly a Must Watch!

ACTION packed entertainer for every Salman Khan Fan!
23 December 2017
Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif who play Tiger & Zoya have both matured since Ek Tha Tiger, they were both in full form and seemed very engrossed in their spy characters. A special mention to Katrina's action sequences, which she carried out brilliantly. impressive! Sajjad Delfroz as Abu Usman was exceptional.

Story : Being the sequel of Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai tells the story of how both spies help free 40 nurses who are under custody of Abu Usman and trapped in an Iraqi hospital. The plot keeps you gripped the entire time, the action sequences thru out the movie were engrossing. Ali Abbas Zafar has done fantastic directing.

Music : the tracks by Vishal & Shekhar haven't been inspiring in the movie. However Dil Diyan Gallan by Atif Aslam is melodious.

Overall, Tiger Zinda Hai is an ACTION packed entertainer which is a must watch for every Salman Khan fan. It's definitely Christmas for Yash Raj Films!

Siddharth Malhotra : Eye candy for many, but a versatile actor indeed; He flawlessly blends into the character of Vikram Sethi. He Shines! Sonakshi Sinha : She plays Maya; she looks genuine, but doesn't leave an impression. Aksheye Khanna : Aksheye is in top form, he looks convincing as Dev, He was serious as well as quirky.

SECRET SUPERSTAR

Duration : 150 Minutes Genre : Drama

Zaira Wasim : the fresh face which we all first saw in Dangal has now turned into a star, she shines completely, and justifies the term "Superstar" in the title. One can see, how genuinely she plays Insia. Meher Vij : She portrays Insia's mother, who complements Zaira's character like no other. Applause worthy! Aamir Khan : He plays Shakti Kumar. We have all seen Aamir in his different avatars, and the audiences should not be missing this one! He is hilarious! Raj Arjun who plays Insia's father is ferocious. Tirth Sharma who portrays Chintan is lovable.

Overall Jolly LLB2 being the sequel to Jolly LLB is an average one time watch entertainer.
14 February 2017
Akshay Kumar : A name we all know who suits every role really well, his take as a lawyer in this one is applause worthy. Annu Kapoor : A powerful comeback after sometime, always a delight to watch. Huma Qureshi : She literally failed to put up with her character. Saurabh Shukla as a judge is entertaining.

Story : The plot surrounds a lawyer who in guilt ends up challenging the judicial system. Script is well written. Direction is average. First half is sharp, but the second half seems lengthy but one is thankful for the hilarious court scenes which keeps one entertained.

Music : The music of Jolly LLB 2 is one of its weakest aspect. There is No track which leaves an impression.
