The Grand Tour: The Grand Tour Presents: Seamen (2019)
What a waste of time
Sadly it seems that Clarkson and Wilman have completely lost the plot. That Amazon are foolinsh enough to throw money at such an inferior production is beyond belief. I will persevere with future episodes in the hope this was just one of the occassional flops. That so many people rate it at 10 makes me think that these are Amazon or Chump staff doing their best to prop up a show that is heading off the rails.
La La Land (2016)
Dull and boring.
This is the slowest, dullest musical I have ever sat through. Why it gets so much hype beats me (unless the reviews and nominations have been paid for by the producers).... The whole production completely lacks sparkle, the plot is not particularly good while the music and choreograph are largely uninspiring. I only sat through the whole thing so as not to disturb my fellow movie-goers. When leaving the cinema, the comments from people around us were of disappointment and disbelief that such a poor film could be rated so highly in the press and other media. If I had been at home watching a DVD copy, I would probably have given up after the first 30 minutes.
The Grand Tour (2016)
Great show after a stumble on Episode 2. Bring back the celebrities on stage and in cars
As a great fan of Top Gear, I was looking forward to the Grand Tour. Episode one showed great promise. Superb intro and great selection of cars promised well of the future. Disappointing new test track and the new test driver is horrible. If they must have an American driver, get one with some charisma. Episode two got off to a good start with the AM Vulcan, but the Desert Stumble really was well named and some of the other slots seemed to lack the spark that these three used to show. I just hope the program can pick itself back up. The old TG did stumble a few times, but I cannot remember anything as bad episode 2 of GT. Maybe this is the strategy so that Episode 3 appears better.

The above was written after episode 2 when I scored this a lowly 2/10. Since then, things have turned around and the remaining episodes were as good as the best they did for the BBC. The only thing missing is getting celebrities back on the show, talking to the presenters and driving 'real world' cars on a track. Surely the BBC cannot have exclusive rights to this concept.
