Guava Island (2019)

it's good but...

So I'm a huge Gambino fan to the point where if anything Gambino related comes out, I'll automatically try to find all the good in it instead of the bad. Often times, I let my fandom get in the way of quality, but Glover is a man of quality. When I heard this project was going to happen, I had high hopes for it. All I knew is Hiro Murai was going to direct it which was a great sign, Glover would be in it, and he's bringing Rihanna along for the ride, how can he mess this up. And while it is his project, it's written by his brother. I liked this film, but I'm not letting my fandom get in the way of how I genuinely see this film as a film. It was structurally broken at points and I feel as if it used the excuse of being short to get away with less story telling. But the animated story at the beginning didn't do much for me and felt very cliche. The film only strived with the way it was shot and the music scenes, however since his music plays at points out of nowhere, it takes away from the movie and seems like either filler or just Donald giving us what he has already given us and that's a bit disappointing to me. Nothing in this film was new music wise and it feels like wasted potential to do something big. But again, I am a fan, and I overall enjoyed it, it does however have many flaws that hold it down from being way better. So would I recommend it? That depends, if you're a Glover/Gambino fan then go check it out, but if you don't like him, or are not a fan of his, you might want to steer clear from this one. 3/5

This movie was great! I went into this one completely blind not knowing anything other than the poster as I like to do with most of the films I see. The soundtrack worked very well, the story was very engaging, and the acting was stellar! Despite everyone doing exceptionally well in this film, Jonah Hill completely stole the show and I'd consider this to be his best acting year yet! And by the end, I was amazed that I was watching a biography the whole time (as I didn't know this was the case while I was watching). It also had a great message that doesn't come off as pretentious. Go check it out if you love films by Gus, or if you like any of the actors involved. The only criticisms I have are personal preference as I would like to see more zoom ups that didn't remind me of the one used in The Office, and I didn't think the directing wasn't anything noteworthy. But that really doesn't take away from the film. It's all preference. 8/10

South Park: Dead Kids (2018) Season 22, Episode 1

For a while, I've been disappointed with what South Park has to offer the viewer I found the last three seasons to be a bit repetitive, and just uninspiring Watching the last couple seasons, there's not really any episodes I would want to revisit after a first watch And I didn't even watch the last season which was 21 Not only is this new episode good, it was the perfect episode to come out at the perfect time and that's something that South Park has always been known for. This is definitely a great starter for a new season I can't wait to see what else they have in stock for this season. 9/10 #CancelSouthPark

Entertaining as hell! I really enjoyed this movie and I can't wait to watch it again, and again, and again. If you're into weird outdated horror films that are pretty funny, this is for you. GO CHECK THIS OUT! 4.5/5

So I went into this film blind without knowing any information about the plot and only expecting what I saw on the poster. I recommend no one checks out the plot synopsis as it may give the wrong expectation to this film. I don't want to say anything, other than the film is a character study, its beautiful shot, and it is truly worth the wait. Would recommend to anyone who seems interested or curious by anything I said. 8/10

Unfriended: Dark Web (2018)

Not as boring as the first, but somehow it remains to be even dumber. If you want to get any enjoyment out of this mess, watch it with friends and laugh throughout the movie. Otherwise, skip this one. It's not worth it. 1/10

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Overall, this film is pretty funny and has a good political message. The only things holding down this film are some technical aspects which are very noticeable, but it still surprised me for the most part. Would definitely watch again! Go check it out! 7/10

Teen Titans GO! To the Movies (2018)

It has some dumb scenes, but it's so damn funny!

While it does have a lot of dumb jokes, cliches, too many musical numbers, and a dumb villain, TTGTTM is a lot of fun and is one of the funniest and risky movies DC has put out in the last couple of years. I would highly recommend it for some of the jokes it has to offer that will appeal to both kids and adults. Trust me on this. It's not amazing, but it's is worth your ticket price. 7/10
