DC Super Hero Girls (2015)
Unoriginal short stories, but this time with superheros.
Quick side note, terrible shows can't always just be justified with "it's a kids show". Kids deserve quality too.
The show focuses on short adventures from perspective of female superheros. That's pretty much it.
I don't mind that there is a female focus, what really bugs me though is that they are teenagers and their adventures are just average teenage girl things disguised with the superhero genre.
Like there is an episode about batgirl trying to get her liscense, I won't spoil it but think of the most unoriginal ending and the first one that comes to mind is pretty much what happens.
The people behind this obviously had no creative stories so they disguised their unoriginal material with superheros so kids won't get bored straight away.
The run time is short though so it won't make you suffer for too long but the short run time makes it more pointless to watch.
If you want to entertain your (very) young kids with just a simple then this isn't the worst option but it will become boring after a little while so I reccomend switiching over to something better
Lego: City (2017)
From what I saw, it's not special but harmless kiddy fun
I only watched a couple of episodes so far so I won't be harsh on it and I'll keep this short.
I was expecting each episode to focus on one paticular lego set and develop an edventure from there. Each episode however actually focuses on multiple lego sets and it doesn't give you any time to know any of the characters, their adventures pretty much start straight away with no character introduction and end quickly, it's incredibly fast paced (which is good to keep kids entertained).
The stories within the episode do connect with each other so at least watching it doesn't feel pointless.
You'll get what I mean when you watch it but to sum it up, it's fast paced, friendly and fun enough for kids to watch and the fast pace might keep their parents interested enough from checking their watch all the time.
Jeopardy (2002)
A great show that deserves to be re-aired
This show wasn't perfect but it was good on so many levels.
If you want a short version of this review, just read the last paragraph, it sums it up.
Story:The story was fun to experience. I normally get bored of the general concept of aliens because I've heard so many stories and watched many shows/movies about aliens but they were the all same 'aliens are weird looking creatures that are highly advanced and want to take over the earth' junk, however, with Jeopardy, there is more drama, more mystery and without spoiling it, I'll just say that the story was intriguing to watch and it was not predictable unlike a lot of other shows.
Characters:They weren't generic high school characters. These days, shows with high school characters usually involve typical characters such as the popular b**chy girl, the popular that plays football, the shy girl, etc but with Jeopardy, they are characters that stood out. Each character is different to the other which makes it more fun to watch them even if their character was suppose to be frowned upon at times.
Dialogue:Everything the characters said really described who they were and how strong their friendship was with the other characters.
Although I remember there was the sort of cringey line, "I'll be your Jane", but that didn't bother me much.
I can honestly talk a lot more about this but to sum it up, this show was great, original in it's own way, characters were unique, story was intriguing and it entertained me so I highly recommend it. (Unfortunataly the series isn't airing these days and there was never a DVD release as far as I know but it's on youtube so check it out).
