Wo hu cang long (2000)
Unique and innovative
The best film with the best fight between two characters, are actually women. It may exist and was filmed by master Ang Lee.
My favorite film by Ang Lee, which combines a deep history, women victims of society, in its largest controlled by men. The perfect combination of visuals, unique and mystical with exemplary performances and fierce, fast fights in some of the best action scenes I've ever seen.
Not to mention the wonderful soundtrack that completes this modern classic.
An amazing movie, which I highly recommend.
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
The Ultimate Action Movie
This movie is simply explosive. The action load of this movie is off limits, recently released. The best part is the history that is phenomenal, with a foot grounded in reality. The characters are human and the scenes have visual and emotional impact. Bourne, a former agent, goes in search of answers, in a government agency, but the film has the aura of mystery to the very end. Why Bourne himself inscribed in the government program. The actors do an excellent job, the characters are interesting. But the rhythm and tension are of the highest level. Some of the best I've seen in an action movie. Car chases are among the best I've seen in movies, alongside the pursuits of another modern action classic, Ronin.
I have no words to describe this movie, one of the best action movies I've ever seen.
Live and Let Die (1973)
The best Roger Moore Bond Movie
The best movie I saw of Bond with Roger Moore at the helm.
Bond has to stop a Black drug dealer, who works with voodoo and witchcraft. An interesting and far better proposal than to blow up the world with nuclear weapons.
The action scenes are electrifying enough and well assembled. The element of humor is here, and it is placed almost perfectly.
If you talk about Jane Seymour, what a beautiful woman, with a cleavage to make a woman very envy. The crocodile scene is one of the best in movie history.
The villain is one of the best I've ever see in the bond franchise,a villain that had a great desire to kill innocent people. A villain who deals with drugs and disgraces the lives of many. And still working with voodoo and witchcraft, could not exist anything better. Excellent and cohesive proposal. I highly recommend it.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Not as bad as I thought
The action of this film is explosive and titanic and the soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in an action movie. The soundtrack (expecionally in the Credits) is titanic, colossal and unique. Visual effects remain excellent, even after 13 years. Yes, I saw it in theaters in 2013. Smith remains a great villain and Keanu as Neo remains iconic. The final battle in Zion and the final fight between Agent Smith and Neo goes down in history as two of the best demonstrations of visual effects that someone has created.
The great sin of this film, that mystery and aura cease to exist, especially since the first Matrix. But it's still a great action movie and an astounding ending to the Neo saga.
Sin City (2005)
Stupid Movie, idem
This movie is complete stupid and unreasonable. And it only calls for violence. People smashing heads and cutting hands with a saw. The only reason this movie film exists is just because of the violence and to generate more violence. Even the duality between man and woman ends up disappearing. In the midst of so much unnecessary violence. An unnecessary film, perverted and ridiculous. At least, Jaime King has a beautiful face and beautiful cleavage. Seeing Jaime King is a unique pleasure, but to endure the poor performance of Mickey Rourke, with that unbearable face, that no one can stand, it is a nightmare. And actually, no actor in this joke of a movie does a good job, for the matter. The action scenes are even more ridiculous and extremely boring to watch. An experience that I do not want to go back to, and for that I can not recommend it.
Inception (2010)
Possibly the best film of this decade
An impressive thriller with a cohesive history. Sci-fi elements inserted into the drama in the best possible way. Where a person is tied to history.
If it counts on the emotional side, a father who tries to recover the children, after the mother has killed herself. A cast full of stars that can act. Leonardo at the best moment of his career. Impressive.
The best special effects I've ever seen in a long time. Innovative, complete, perfect. They connect the drama and the spectacle in a perfect way. The parallel sequences that raise the tension to the limit that only Christopher Nolan manages to do with this quality.
That being said as Christopher Nolan put the drama in the film in such a perfect way that it made it original. Nobody can say that Nolan copied something from someone. A job that only Christopher Nolan knows how to do.
All this talk about the sound aspect and soundtrack, chosen by Nolan that help us to be inserted in this perfect universe, in a cohesive form that we do not want to leave.
And the end is the icing on the cake. Even after watching the movie, you're left wondering. As Total Recall, the movie does not end in the end, but leaves you want to return to that wonderful universe. An excellent ending to an almost perfect movie.
An almost perfect movie. I've seen 3 times in theaters in 2010. I bought the DVD and Blu Ray. And I'm waiting for the sale of Blu ray 4K, to give more money to Warner Bros, because this movie is worth. A blessing.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Irrelevant
How can there be an movie without ending? It exists and was made in marvel. The Marvel Movies or the mcu, as the great Christopher Nolan (whom I love so much) said, the marvel films are not films. Who takes seriously someone who puts, scenes in credits and now films without ending. I pay at the theaters to see the full movie, i do not want to wait to see the ending in the next movie next year. Cinema is not TV. It was for this reason that I stopped reading crossovers from marvel comics. And also for this reason that I do not see more mcu movies. I do not want to see a Spider-Man movie with the boring Iron man character in the movie the Spider-Man, just to rip off a few millions at the box office. No thank you. And the action scenes of this film are always plastic. No impact, there is no excitement to see beings almost invincible to punches and kicks with others beings almost invincibles. It is boring to watch, moreover, if in the end of the movie the villain does not die, nor the hero, it sucks. There is no moment of wonder nor an adequate climax, and considering that this is a super hero movie, and half the impact was already gone, because we know that the hero has to live and win in the end. Placing invincible heroes against each other, makes the action scenes of this movie completely irrelevant. This, even at the point where this film should shine, fails roundly. The scene and the film itself are predictable without suspense or tension. Just a fan service. After all, marvel only want to see dollars from the toys which they sold to the children. I do not recommend this movie at all.
Billy Bathgate (1991)
Amazing
An excellent movie about gangsters without being bored. A cast of actors simply amazing, with the beautiful Nicole Kidman more beautiful than ever. Unlike Godfather, here we see the mafia world through the eyes of a street kid who wants fame and money.
In the Godfather movie, all the characters are already on top, it does not show how they arrived and they are almost invincible to either the government, the police or rival gangs. Here the mob has to work hard. Violence is just right and the nudity scenes are very well done. A nudity scene always improves the movie in question. The action is also very good, here there is no place for annoyance. A movie that I like a lot, I have in Blu ray and I recommend it.
Total Recall (1990)
One of the best movies I've seen.
The action of this movie is colossal, always moving and nobody gets bored. Arnold is excellent as Douglas, a guy who works hard and has a beautiful blonde to go to bed. Sharon Stone is as good as Lori and Rachel Ticotin as Melina. I like both blondes and redheads, so I do not have to complain.
Villains are evil enough and they are killed in the end. Not like these stupid marvel movies, in which no villain dies, simply for we have pity of them. A good bad guy has to be hated.
Special effects are always great and the humor is correct, and is not forced, not like these stupid marvel movies. I love every minute of this movie. Amazing.
