Simply an awful movie

This is an example of bad Hollywood gone unchecked. Don't settle for this type of movie. There are much more rewarding movies out there to watch than this Derek. Watch a Japanese Anime film, watch an old black and white romance. Try something different with children's's television time and don't settle for this unoriginal, uninspired reprocessed drivel.

The acting from all of actors in this movie is completely second rate. The directing, assuming there was one, would be considered workman like even for a daytime soap opera. The scenes are set, the actors walk into the scene, speak some lines, and then we repeat. The pacing is awful. I couldn't believe just how bad this movie is. My kids when asked, said, " It was good", but I believe that was just out of politeness. They never laughed or cheered or acted frightened during the entire movie. That's the best way to sum up this movie; It's just a waste of time.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

Satisfying

After seeing this movie I talked about it with my elementary school age children. We all agreed that the movie had everything that we had envisioned in our head while reading the first book of the Narnia series. Aslan was magnificent, Lucy was adorable, the Witch was frighteningly evil, the scene at the Stone Table was heartbreaking. I'm a grown man who has read this book seven or eight times, twice aloud to my children, and I'm not embarrassed to admit that my eyes welled with tears. I loved the scenes with the professor. I do think that more time should have been spent showing Edmund's temptation and the effect that the Turkish delight has on him. He seems to cave in to the Witch's promises too easily. His siblings at this point in the story have done nothing except the most normal sort of bickering that any brothers or sisters would have done, but Edmund readily supplies the Witch with information that severely harms the forces of good. This is a very good movie, I would recommend it to anyone.
