The Batman (2022)
I enjoyed this.
As a Batman fan and watching this three times now I can say I like it a lot but it's not perfect. It felt like a dark comic that I've been waiting for. I love Ferrel as the penguin. I liked the over the top, Tony Soprano kinda thing he has. It's very fun and works. I really saw him as the penguin. Krävtiz as cat woman was okay. It didn't blow me away but she wasn't bad. She was pretty good but has some lines that she kinda blows. Paul Dano as the Riddler was pretty good but it wasn't what I was expecting. It's kind of odd but it made sense. And Robert Patterson as Bruce and Batman was pretty good. I really bought him as Batman and felt very thrilling when he was on screen. I love the beginning a lot. I really want more from this. I love the noir element. It felt like Chinatown meets Seven. It was pretty cool. I felt the ending went on a little too long and should've end with Batman looking at the helicopter. I believe this is a great Batman movie and I can't wait to see more. If you're a Batman fan go see it and if you want to watch something new then watch it. Don't let the runtime scare you it really flows by.
Turning Red (2022)
I didn't like it.
I feel that I didn't connect with this movie but weirdly got me angry. The animation is not good. I'm fact I'd say it was lazy. It felt like there was nothing unique with it. With Nemo and monsters inc. And the other great Pixar movies I can say who was who and it was very memorable. I couldn't connect with this movie. I think I'm not the target demographic then again I don't know who this would be for. It's too inappropriate for children and to dumb for adults and teens won't really care so who is this for? The message of puberty, periods, and the rebellion was very muffled through the stupid lens of a greedy company. This isn't a children movie. I didn't like any of the characters but especially the mother is brutal. It's not even an understanding of how she's this over baring. She comes to school with period pads embarrassing her daughter. Now I get it she's over baring but this is so cartoonishly stupid of how she embarrasses her daughter and makes you want to scream at the tv. I hated her. Hated hated hated her. I thought of another Pixar movie Finding Nemo. Now that's about an over baring dad but he was realistic and a good character that you like throughout the story. You want Marlon to find Nemo. But the mom in this movie was not good. The friends were shallow and I don't know why it's set in 2002. I failed to see the point in that. Nothing about it made sense and it got me mad at the muffled ending that really didn't solve or teach anything. What I got out of it was that girls are gross inside but you should just accept that. I don't know it didn't come across well and I think they should've worked on the script. If you got something else or enjoy it then more power to you.
