You (2018)
The first thing my beloved Netflix subscription gave me was "You"
Based on a book by Caroline Kepnes the show is a roller coaster where it touches high and low. Its a decent show, not much to offer. The story gets slow in between when "Joe" tries to justify his killings or when he finds a new prey.
But still despite all this the show has real potential and some cliffhangers that push the show forward.
As Joe once said "The first step to fixing something is to know no matter how destroyed it seems, it can always be saved." Thats true for the show as well. It has potential lets see what is in store for us
The Witcher (2019)
WE HAVE TO CLING TO SOMETHING. IF WE DON'T, THE WORLD DESCENDS INTO CHAOS
The Witcher seems to be a good show to cling to. Based on a series of novels by Andrzej Sapkowski and Przemyslaw Truscinski "The Witcher" takes you to a trip to fantasy land.
Its remarkable how the writers force you to watch the next episode specially the last few episodes of the first season ending at a cliffhanger.
Henry Cavill did an amazing job, Anya Chalotra's character Yennefer of Vengerberg saw a major character development throughout the series.
All in all the show is worth watching if you're into fantasy and mystical creatures
Man with a Plan (2016)
He is back with a plan!!
If you are comparing the show to "F.R.I.E.N.D.S." then you are committing a crime the two shows are completely different. One is about a gang in mid 20s enjoying the time of their lives while the other deals with challenges of parenthood.
Kevin Nealon's one line punches and his goofs drag the show forward when everyone else seem to be pulling it down. Matt LeBlanc's comic timing with Nealon feels good too. The show feels good in bits and pieces but as a whole feels chaotic.
The Wire (2002)
"Yeah now, well, the thing about the good shows...they the good shows"
Based on the book "Homicide: A year on the killing streets" the show forces you to think. I found the pilot episode impossible to watch and that's true for the first 3-4 episodes in every season but they are essential for character and plot build up. The show explains how the system's broke and even if you try hard to improve it you are the one who gets screwed up.
The creators crafted this masterpiece perfectly in every way possible and it is one of those shows that one must watch. It doesn't matter if you are a fan of the genre you'll enjoy it, the writers build the story this way which forces you to watch the show
Sherlock (2010)
Lost its grace over the course of time but still worth it
The show is a modern adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes in modern society. It's fun for a book enthusiast to see the contrast between the book and the show. Benedict Cumberbatch as the leading protagonist is an absolute delight and Martin Freeman as Watson is a delight the two compliment each other on the screen and are fun to watch.
The show reached its peek in Season 2 Finale when Sherlock tricks Moriarty and the entire audience. But from there the performance has only declined and according to me the season finale of the fourth season was just rock bottom. It is still a good show and worth your time.
Friends: The One with the Blackout (1994)
The episode which turned the show around for me
I'll be honest I was not a big fan of the show before this episode, it was the turning point. The episode had a lot of emotions in it and was full of punch lines and laughter. Joey introduced us to the term "FRIEND ZONE" in the episode. Chandler and Jill Goodacre had a nice chemistry, their comic timing was phenomenal
