A relatable laughing riot
25 June 2021
This movie must be relatable for so many people out there, I have seen a few like that personally too. Kevin Hart tries to do good but is seldom recognized. Every movie goer would love this movie as it is not an artistic movie, neither a dumb movie, it's a passable movie worthy of your time. Have a good watch, cheers!

What's "Detective" about this season?
20 June 2021
Same old story told time and time again of a broken family, corrupted city and a convulated "mob boss". What's "true detective" about this episode? Whole story revolves around Vaughn's character. Such a weak episode building up to be a weaker season. The characters are uninteresting with no redemption qualities to look for.

Season 1 was a literal masterpiece of the TV world. No season of any other show can ever come close to it believe me.

A solid movie with a little convulated second act
19 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I liked the rawness about this movie- not relying on technicalities of filmmaking but on the natural aspects of it. Second act brought the air of obnoxious although most of the dialogues there were pretty distorted to not get a whiff of that upper class life. Still thought that moving the movie from where it started to that place seemed out of place and uppity. The whole French song scene and the duration of it was damning. The ending was beautiful and somehow made me feel good about the whole ordeal. A good movie with Riz and Paul Raci about a man losing his hearing and still finding his place in the world. Cheers.

Kevin Hart hit every point right
18 June 2021
Never thought this man could be as good an emotional actor as he is a comedian. The story is simple, beautiful and very relatable for most. Hardships faced by a young single parent to raise a child not as an infant but also as a pre-teen which can be very tough. Tough how, balancing your life all around your child to give them a healthy surrounding with no one else to rely on. You don't wanna miss your golden years but at the same time you don't want to ruin your kid's life by giving no attention.

Hart played the role very well, according to his capacity and the demand of the story. Some greag actors are in it, often forgotten but always a delight to see. A good family-friendly movie to watch this Father's Day, cheers!

Too much content?
10 June 2021
The story has too much content to showcase, this movie didn't do it justice. Petition to turn this concept into a limited TV series or even a 2-seasons long show. Great concept, restricted by the limitations of being a "movie".

A very fun watch if you are into the concept of catching killers and studying body language
31 May 2021
I thoroughly enjoyed the show, well to be frank, parts of the show. The Red John chase episodes are far better than the so-called "filler" episodes. Every episode up until Season 6 has a different storyline, mind you if you don't like that anthropological series type premise, you will get bored. I don't like that but I was much more interested in the mind of Patrick Jane. Yes the show takes logical liberties here and there but that's just to make it enjoyable and not feel like a documentary. To be honest some liberties you will find to be outright hilarious but to each his own.

So many things are there to say about this show as it ran for almost 8-9 years! To sum it up precisely- 1. Watch if you like serial killer drama and like to see a strong and smart mind.

2. Watch if you can bypass tha filler episodes, they can get boring sometimes.

Just stick with it, you'll enjoy it I'm sure! Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon are gem of a character!

Felt rushed, would love a limited tv series on this story!
30 May 2021
Do you agree? I felt the movie had so many characters and they were all done for in a very short amount of time. The character could easilt get a John Wick-esque limited tv series and it would be the hottest thing available to stream. The action was great and the score complimented the scenes every which way. Guy Ritchie is a master crafter and this movie just solidified that statement once again. Cheers.

It's not your everyday "Murder Mystery" tale
20 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
No, it was about people and their relationships, how strained and unusual they can be. The girl didn't matter, her death was not significant, what led to her death was not required, the plot required just a dead girl with conflicted past to show true color of people around her or touched by her.

Let me just list in ways this show is different from your average/cheesy crime/courtroom drama, this can be for the best or for the worst.

1. The underdog lawyer didn't get a chance to be in the limelight by making or winning a career defining case.

2. The main lawyer/third character was not likable at all and was shown too foolish and egoistic for someone just starting themselves in the law career.

3. The main character was a buffoon and they took that buffoon and made him a serious dude in a very short span of time. I mean he didn't even know not to talk to officers without a lawyer present and by the end he was huffing crack and smuggling it in his nether places. What?

4. The family/immigrants condition was shown absolutely appropriately, yes this happens in Jackson heights and even all around America, profiling, loss of means and just everyday life problems just worse than others.

Like or hate these points but give this show a chance. My rating is 9/10. Cheers.

Went in without reading the novel and with zero expectations
16 May 2021
I thought about reading the novel last year I guess but just couldn't get over with my already bought novels that I had. So fast forward to few months, I heard about this movie being made. So naturally I waited for the movie to see what the fuss was all about with the book. Reading other reviews it is clear that the movie fell short, very short. But I went in with 0 expectations and it felt like an "Okay" movie. Nothing great, sometimes silly and felt like a mixture of 2-3 movies that I have seen like Shutter Island and Rear Window. Guess I'm gonna have to read the novel now to see how great it really is or is it just a piece of fiction heavily influenced or a ripoff of Rear Window too. Cheers.

Weird, illogical, and trying too hard, but entertaining
14 May 2021
This movie and especially the director in every one of his movies(except drive) tries too hard to be "bold", "chic", "modern", "artistic". "Tries to hard" to be all these things but these movies come out just a laughing stock or sometimes even a snooze fest. This movie had every bad quality about Nicolas but it was not boring or slow at least. You can adore the Cinematography and the setting. The Neon Demon had substance but this movie is just flat out weird and trying so hard that it's laughable now. Cheers.

A script with no ambition and an ambivalent message.
8 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
You might have thought about the message about to be portrayed in the movie before seeing it. But after seeing it you just feel weird. This film failed on every aspect. The message it really wanted to convey just fell short before the finish line.

This Coppola descendant has no artistic bone whatsoever and it shows with her disastrous direction of this movie. Maya Hawke is beautiful but I'll refrain watching her movies from now on. Although I think she won't get many projects. Andrew Garfield deserves so much respect from the industry he still does, even after this movie.

Can't say I was even entertained. I've never given a movie a 1 rating because I know how much efforts go into making one. So here's a neutral rating because I really liked Garfield's performance and Hawke's dullness. Cheers!

Starting was stupid
30 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show takes liberties in the name of "creativity" but the starting sequence was stupid. No agent on duty of a witsec program is ever allowed to leave the premises, even if you suspect any danger. Always guard the house and never just venture off to the woods towards the assailant. That's plain stupid. Protect the housemates not go off to find one assaulter and let other one come in and finish the job lol.

Don't listen to the bozos who wrote review after 1 episode
28 April 2021
Don't listen to these weird people who wrote a review in January 2020. A day or a week after the first episode. It's annoying how ignorant people can be and give 9/10 eating to a show after just one episode. Were you an extra on the show?

So, the basic requirement for a hearty comedy show on paper is a likeable protagonist. This show doesn't have one. The creators know how to make her look good in appearance, doll her up with colorful clothes and brushed hair but forgot to write her good in the script. Not even likeable the character is annoying, intruding and just plain weird. I honestly watched the whole season to see how Peter Gallagher's (Mitch) storyline would end. There's no way I'll be continuing with Season 2 and neither should you. Cheers!

I'm sorry Max is being a jerk?
28 April 2021
The main lead of a comedy/hearty new gen show should be likeable people. You're dolling her up with high waisted jeans and brushed hair so you really want people to like her but please fix her storyline and moral compass too. She is not coming off as likable at all. She looks good, bravo for tha. Because Jane Levy doesn't look like that in real life!

The basic requirement
27 April 2021
The basic requirement of a hearty sitcom-type comedy is that the main lead should be lovable and/or interesting. That's what this show is lacking!

New gen revenge drama
26 April 2021
Started out pretty juvenile but turned into a good and structured movie pretty soon. It was not shocking or anything, it was pretty straightforward and the twists were seen miles away. Or maybe I have seen to many movies. Of course the lead is amazing, she has been amazing in everything she has done.

But, original screenplay oscar? Didn't expect that! Cheers!

I have seen it.
25 April 2021
I have seen all this, all of it firsthand with my grandmama. Every thing, every nuance, every situation and every conversation was very true and real. You have to understand that it's not a piece of fiction anymore.

Olivia Colman, since discovered has been in such amazing projects that it's incredible. Sir Anthony? He has always been a legend. Hope he gets his first Oscar with this movie. Liked Riz Ahmed but he'll get a chance soon! Cheers!

A Separation (2011)

Absolutely amazing, but...
28 March 2021
Yeah it was amazing, realistic and filled with brilliant acting, but it wasn't what I expected, at all. Well, I expected an emotion and music driven movie about, well, "a separation" which I guess is too much to ask given the title of the movie right? A courtroom drama filled with upper and lower class fight was not what I had in mind before starting this movie.

I felt cheated and betrayed because obviously I didn't see any trailers given how I don't understand their language. And believe me that I see tons of foreign language movies but yeah- never seen the trailers.

It was good nonetheless but I couldn't give it a 9 or 10 given how off-title the movie was. Even the poster is a thing of fraud, given how this movie was nothing like that.

It was my fault..
1 February 2021
..That I expected soo much out of this movie. And it left me empty and clueless at the end. This movie was nothing, just nothing. No good scene, no great editing, no great soundtrack and it pains me to say that no great acting was found too. The movie was plain and simple. Some would say far too simple to have the ensemble of this calibre.

Editing really disappointed me, the shots weren't even smooth. I always had my doubts whether Rami will fit in every role or not, now I am clear. Cheers.

The Leftovers (2014–2017)

It all started in 2016
27 January 2021
I remember seeing the first episode of the series in 2016, when I was just 16 years old. I don't remember much but I remember being unimpressed so I changed my gears to more "popularly known and acclaimed" shows. I backed out of this show just because I didn't understand the tone of the first episode or I was too much of a "cinema novice" to understand. But, now in 2021, after 5 years, I decided to pick this up after seeing about 72 shows. First of all, I absolutely adored watching Justin Theroux in every episode. That man is very handsome and handles himself very well.

Talking about Theroux, it brings me to the cast of the show which is absolutely brilliant. The acting of every cast member is immaculate. You feel for them, you feel with them and sometimes you feel something against them. Mind you, only Season 1 is based on the book, the other two seasons are just creations of the writer only, of how he imagined the sequels of the book. Even Season 1 is not entirely based on the book. But, it's better.

Not relying too much on Sci-Fi show, it still seems better than most. For me, this show was romantic and poetic. A great show to binge watch. I was just mesmerized by Theroux. Oh, I decided to watch this show after seeing him in Mulholland Dr last year and then I read about the show and found it exciting and unique. Well, it exceeded my expectations, absolutely.

Easily in my Top 15 list. My rating is 8.6/10 because Season 1 8.5/10 Season 2 8.3/10 Season 3 9/10

Cheers.
