Black Bear (2020)
Well that took a turn
The first part of this film is utterly insufferable. We were about to turn it off when it took a welcome turn and actually became interesting.
Cursed Films (2020)
So far this series is all over the place
Let's start out by saying that the second episode of this series is excellent. Smart, emotional and at times really charming. It treated the curse rumors as an interesting jumping off point to discuss the film, the tragedies and gave an opportunity to people integral to the film's production to speak frankly about the losses associated with the films, as well as the real life impact of the curse mythology.
Unfortunately, episode one and three are filled with a bunch of nonsense about black magic and are pretty painful to sit through.
Us (2019)
This is a perfect horror film
This is a perfect film. I legit do not know how to deal with reviews of this film.
Fractured (2019)
Ugh.
That was a big pile of convoluted nonsense.
Boooourns.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
Hit and miss, but true to the original
Jordan Peele's version of the Twilight Zone feels like a loving tribute to the original. Some are better than others, but let's be honest, the same can be said for the original Twilight Zone, and this new incarnation is pretty delightful, if occasionally hammy.
Luz (2018)
This movie is amazing
If you love Fulci and Argento this is the movie for you (and if you don't love them, what is wrong with you?) Beautiful, weird and wonderful. 10/10
