Young Sheldon: Funeral (2024)
Amazingly Well Done
There are enough words that can say what a great job they did on this episode. It hits every point on the emotional spectrum. I've done my share of crying at a few really sad movies, but this is my first time bawling during a sitcom and I'm sure I'm not alone. The writing in this episode is stellar. The way the writers were able to tug at your heartstrings from start to finish was epic. But the acting of all the primaries was even more stellar. I can't say enough about the quality of the performances of all of the actors. They hit it out of the park with this one, every single one of them. This episode will go down as one of the greatest sitcom episodes of all time.

Horrible Writing. I Want My Hour & Thirty Minutes Back
Yes. It is an interesting premise - what will happen on the ISS if war were to break out between Russia and the US? With better writing this movie could have been sooo much more. But the finished product here was an abysmal waste of time. Just a ridiculous agglomeration of insipid plot misdirection and utter confusion. It didn't help that three of the crew were Russian and spoke Russian (with no English subtitles) during key points in the story. I suppose if I was fluent in Russian I would have gotten more out of this movie and then maybe given it two stars instead of one. But the truth is this script was horribly written which resulted in a bomb of a movie with an even worse ending. Don't waste your time.

Best Action Drama Movie of the Year So Far
Very pleasantly surprised what a great flick this was. From the very start to the final scene, this movie kept me engrossed the entire time with a great storyline, good pacing, and excellent direction by Jean-Francios Richet
A seemingly routine international flight, some bad weather, and an emergency landing..then it really starts to get good. And just before you start to think this may be the TV show 'Lost' recycled, the story takes a realistic, dark turn.
Gerard Butler gives his usual awesome performance with a supporting cast that measures up. It's not too over-the-top with Hollywood unrealism, and it packs one or two twists to make the ending fulfilling. I highly recommend this movie.
Hereditary (2018)
Acting Was Spectacular, Movie Was Meh..
Granted I went into this movie with high expectations after hearing it was the "scariest movie ever" and I was very impressed with the initial plot twists. Plus, the acting anchored by Toni Colette's spectacular performance kept me enthralled. The story got deeper and deeper and the Creep Factor got higher and higher... and then, at the climax, the ending fell flat.
There was such a high build with the story getting more and more intense. As the audience, I kept waiting and waiting to see what was behind all of this intense horror buildup. The revelation that came in the final 2 minutes just left you wondering what happened and what did I just watch..

I Want My 8 Hours Back Please
So much potential..but ultimately just a huge mash up of fantasmic twists and nonsensical turns that have no meaning or bearing and are never explained...it's as if the movie Inception had a love child with the show Lost but then went nowhere. I would venture to guess that the writers got seriously high before writing each episode and then penned anything that came to their stoned minds. Nothing made sense from one scene to the next; the scenes went everywhere while going nowhere and most of it was left unexplained at the end. Yes, there was everything - high seas thrills; interdimensional travel; obligatory mysterious characters; duplicitous villains that ended up not; repeating time loops; flash backs, flash forwards, flash sideways; random twists at the ends of most episodes to ensure you'll watch the next even though you were about to give up on this show; and finally, an obligatory smoke/tar monster towards the end who, like everything listed above, was never explained and had no bearing on the story whatsoever. Like I said, writers were seriously stoned. Don't waste 8 hours of your life on this.

Meh. They Didn't Stick the Ending
Overall not a bad movie. Creepy throughout with a lot of jump scares that kept me entertained. It definitely kept giving me vibes of 2002's The Ring, also a good movie. I was impressed with the entire cast. Sosie Bacon was phenomenal, and the supporting cast was fantastic including Robin Weigert who is excellent in everything she does. This movie kept me enthralled until....well, the ending..just flopped. I was not necessarily expecting or requiring a happy ending, just some climax and wrap up worthy of, and of the same quality of the rest of the movie. When a movie ends and I say out loud, "that's it??" then there's a problem.
The Umbrella Academy: Oblivion (2022)
Skip This Season
Loved season 1 and 2 but season 3's writing left a lot to be desired. It had a great start but the second half of it was just a bunch of filler, fluff, and boredom. If they had cut it all out they probably could have had five good episodes telling the important & interesting parts of the season 3 storyline. We end yet again on another cryptic cliffhanger but I honestly do not understand the relevance of it because the last episodes were so scattered and meaningless. I honestly don't know what I just watched. I give this season three stars instead of one because of the Footloose scene in the first episode, which was fantastic.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Read this in Chris Farley voice
"Remember..that finale from the show The Sopranos? That was awesome! Let's do the Ozark finale just like it!"
Seriously, when it comes to bad series finales that end abruptly and leave you hanging, its as if someone said The Sopranos was the worst ever and Ozark said "hold my beer!"
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part V (2022)
Entertaining...But So Wrong In So Many Ways
I won't rehash the other reviews that (accurately) point out the multitude of plot holes, the poor writing, & the non-canon inconsistencies throughout this episode. I found these so annoying and they negate the parts of this episode that were so great. It results in a bittersweet feeling watching this episode. They could solve this problem by utilizing writers that are familiar with Star Wars and actually know and understand the nuances of the movies, because the people that write this obviously do not.
Star Trek: Picard: Monsters (2022)
The Hell Did I Just Watch?
Please... I would rather have one less episode for the season than have to sit through filler garbage episodes like this one. Absolutely nothing to do with the storyline, just a treading water stand-alone episode with some really strange Picard existential overtones. It was obvious that the writer had no familiarity with the characters or the series and was trying to go for some type of irrelevent offbeat shock value (what the hell was that Q-calling howling thing with the Genie bottle at the end?? SMH). I lost count how many times I rolled my eyes during this episode. It bore a striking resemblance to TOS episode "Catspaw," but significantly worse, which says a lot. Do yourself a favor: save your time, skip this episode, and pick up next week. You will not have missed anything.
1883: The Weep of Surrender (2022)
Snore-fest
Very boring filler episode. If I wanted a soap opera, I would watch afternoon television. Seriously, this was As the World Turns in the west. You could skip this extremely melodramatic Elsa-centric episode and not miss a beat of the overall story. I wish I could have the hour I wasted watching this one back.
Castle Rock: Romans (2018)
Will Somebody Please Explain To Me What the Fudge I Just Watched?
I just sat through 10 hours of a show that started out as a wonderfully written and incredibly well acted show that apparently got to a point where the writers wrote themselves into a corner and the twisted and convoluted plot ended up goingn nowhere. There was absolutely no resolution or answes to the twists and turns of this ridiculously convoluted story. Somebody please give me my 10 hours back. DO NOT waste your time on this ridiculous series.
Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)
Are you 'efiing Kidding Me??
OMG, you had a chance to redeem yourselves after the horrible finale of Dexter (2006) and for 9.5 episodes you did. But this finale was the absolute worst ever of any show I've ever watched in my 50+ years of existence! It was like, "Dexter (2006 ) was the worst finale ever!"...Dexter New Blood: "Wait hold my beer!"
Seriously, this was the worst finale I've ever seen. If you haven't watched it yet, don't.
The Rookie: Hit and Run (2021)
Whose Genius Idea was the Body Cam POV??
Entire episode was via body cam, dash cam or security cam...clunky, distracting & literally nauseating. Director probably thought he was doing something innovative but he made the episode unwatchable. PLEASE don't do this again!
No One Gets Out Alive (2021)
Tedious. Couldn't get through the whole thing
Creepy haunted house movie with single girl staying in aforementioned scary haunted house. One creepy scene after another (sometimes they're dreams?) that go nowhere. After sitting through 90% of this flick with one meaningless creepy shock scene after another, I couldn't stomach sitting through to the end. Not sure how it ended, but I wish I had my hour and a half back.
