The Rookie: Strike Back (2024)
Season 6, Episode 1
6/10
Overall good episode but Chenford spoiled it just a bit.

Warning: Spoilers
The A story was a good follow up from the finale and was paced well. It was pretty consistent with the rest of the show.

The B story with Bradford and Chen bothered me a bit. Bradford had to transfer because he can't work with Chen but now they're apparently allowed to ride together on a whim. On top of that, they turned a crime scene into a guessing game and caused evidence to be washed down a drain with zero repercussions. I get that it's just a show, but how about a semblance of consistency?

The final destination style scene with Nolan at the hangar was a bit goofy but that's kind of the heart of this show.

It was sweet to see Thorson save the day.

The man in charge of the camps has been in a management position his entire career, but is able to take a gun from a soldier and murder someone with it. Then Rex, a CIA clandestine agent tells him everything that is going on while barely knowing who he is. The writing is getting lazier with every episode.

Jack has basically been a spy for hundreds of years and he uses a simple recorder when he talks to Danes, then he takes it out of his pocket and shows it to Danes and tells him exactly what he is going to do with it. This is like children's cartoon level plot development.

Just a repeat of Series 3

Warning: Spoilers
The third series had Torchwood hunted by an enigmatic government agency for unknown reasons. It ended with Jack sacrificing his grandchild to save millions, which should have ckeared Torchwood's name. Now Series 4 finds them hunted by another enigmatic government agency for unknown reasons and following the same mini series format instead of giving us the stand alone style episodes which made the show great. I see why it ended at Series 4.

Warning: Spoilers
The episode makes no sense. If they knew they could easily jump back to 2015, there was no reason to make contact with the 2025 version of Malloy and they were breaking their own temporal laws by interacting with that timeline as much as they did. They should have just exctracted what they needed and left.

Complete nonsense.

Warning: Spoilers
They did absolutely nothing to punish Captain Ndoye. I understand she put her life on the line at the end but everything she did up until then was way worse than what Michael did in S1E1 to und up in prison forever. At least they did something to Book although that was basically a slap on the wrist as well for what was basically a massive act of terrorism.
