Argylle (2024)
6.5 at best
What can I say about this film? It has several of my favorite actors. But I was surprised at how little Henry Cavill was actually in it. I get it, it's definitely not lost on me but still, I couldn't help but feel cheated Cavill was one of my main draws to this movie and I remembered seeing all the trailers in advance but like I said, I was disappointed at how little he appeared in the film. Rockwell, Cena and Jackson were great here too. While it was a clever "twist" that things were the way they were, I still feel cheated out of a Henry Cavill Action movie. I guess I'll have to hope ungentlemanly warfare will be better and give me what I so desperately wanted here.
This felt like a desperate attempt to "subvert audience expectations" (like the Last Jedi) than it was to give us the cheesy, over the top, action movie that I wanted.
Cheers to the GOAT Bryce Dallas Howard who really is the MVP of this movie especially...well her or the cat.
Puppy Love (2023)
Adorable movie with depth and heart!
I found this movie to be a delightful change of pace from what I usually watch. It had depth and heart about two people, working through their insecurities and fears and reluctantly find their pack. I think the premise was good. I thought both actors did a fantastic job it really makes you think how fragile life is. Sometimes the walls we build up around us make us comfortable, but are also holding us back from a better overall life and experience. Like I said, it was surprisingly deep for what initially looked like a 101 Dalmatians type spin off. While predictable, I really do think that this had a great message and presented it well.
The Pyramid (2014)
The mummy meets cloverfield
I really enjoy found footage type films this one definitely fits the bill. If you like clover field or any of the other dozen or so movies out there like it, you'll enjoy this one. I saw it was only rated 4 point something but like I said. I enjoy these types of movies. Would've watched it a long time ago had I known it was a found footage type premise. Jesus, I'm not sure why anyone would write anything more than this. Sure it cuts down on people spamming likes it or whatever but this tells me I still have 88 words to go before I can submit. Personally I'd rather not rant to get my comment up but here we are.
Fun premise. Well shot imo. A few nit picks but nothing that deserves a 4 something rating overall. Personally I would at least give it a 5 but given I also enjoyed it, I bumped it to 6.
Wind River (2017)
Emotional. Powerful. Riveting.
Based on a true story. Fantastic cast. Gripped my attention from the moment it started. Beautifully written! Renner's best role since the Hurt Locker I'd imagine.
Aquaman (2018)
Rocky 3 Indiana Jones Avatar Stellar Cast EQUALS Aquaman
I just got home from seeing an Advance Sceening of Aquaman and I'm really geeking out. I keep trying to replay the movie and be rational, professional, or somewhat critical but I'm drawing blanks. I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Fantastic! Rocky 3 Indiana Jones Avatar Stellar Cast EQUALS Aquaman
A-X-L (2018)
Good Fun, Want an AXL! Lol
It was just good clean fun. Very reminiscent of older, nostalgic films where a kid finds something extraordinary and then teen drama/thrust into situations over their head type action/story ensues. I saw the preview and wanted to see it, however, I would have probably rented this movie if I didn't have MoviePass.
Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe (2018)
Fantastic
Awesome job guys! Easily on par with any of the CW shows as far as costumes etc. I really only have two complaints. I wanted the episodes to be longer and the season to be longer! Great job to the Bat in the Sun crew. Next leveled your Beatdowns.
When can we get more?
