Ransom Canyon (2025)
Missing heart...
Could've been good but something's off kilter.
The best episode was the rodeo (5?) one. And what happened to the 2nd bad ombré?
Had a few good twists but missing chemistry.
Good actors in it but maybe it's the writing...because something doesn't gel. Sadly it's supposed to be Texas but filmed elsewhere. Hard to believe some events, as in aftermath of tornado; dang, the town cleaned up fast.
Not enough dance hall scenes; only saw one act. Later scenes looked like it was just a large diner.
There was a lot of hype for this but the series didn't live up to it. Yellowstone meets Virgin River? Nah. Hallmark version of Virgin River.
Mary (2024)
So Wrong!
This is definitely NOT the Mary, Mother of Jesus,
as she appears in the Bible. Totally inaccurate. Since Mary was "full of grace" as Gabriel is quoted in Bible, it is understood that she would have been an obedient child, not running amok, nor being late to prayers!
And where did they get the idea that Joachim was visited by an angel?
Gabriel is terribly cast. Temple head gear so weird!
After the scene of Gabriel & Satan with Mary, (Where did THAT come from?!?) I could no longer watch.
And the scene that Herod has visions into the future?! That's far-fetched! Still, Anthony Hopkins played him well.
The Gentlemen (2024)
Great fun.
Although I was skeptical at first, I enjoyed it.
So, sit back with your preferred beverage of choice, relax, and be entertained by some cheeky good fun.
Smart dialogue from the aristocratic implied verbage to common street lingo of thugs. In my opinion, this seemed like a mixture of Ozark and Peaky Blinders, though milder, with a few twists and turns. An enjoyable way to spend a rainy day; the length of the series with eight episodes was just right.
While everything for our protagonists seemed to be unraveling, in the end all loose ends were tied up in a neat bow, so to speak.
Well cast with great acting by all.
Will not disappoint.
Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Sad part of history
It's difficult to watch because it again highlights a gross injustice done to this tribe. Greed is a sin.
These people who want to benefit from the good fortune of others stop at nothing to further their own desires for wealth. The wolf in sheeps clothing is on full display here. Pretending to be friends and really caring for the well being of the Osage people they manipulate family members and put in motion ways and means to the detriment of those they claim as friends. They are killing the Osage people with their "kindness" and concern for their well-being. They stop at nothing to get their way.
Spiderhead (2022)
WHAT? Why?
The acting was great; all very talented to display the wide range of emotions elicited in this film against a gray colorless background.
But why? The whole premise was just weird.
Marry Me (2022)
Cute Rom-com
I liked this movie but what kept me from giving a higher rating is that my Peacock streaming video had orange characters through-out the entire film.
It probably was visually pretty but we couldn't tell.
Personally I'd give Peacock a 2. Only have it because of Yellowstone, Seal Team, 1883, & Mayor of Kingstown!
Nobody (2021)
Nobody Not for Everybody but
This was a well-made, fun to watch movie!
Obviously a bit fantastical but so are the Bond movies. Cast was great; Bob Odenkirk in a very different role.
The Gilded Age (2022)
Rushed dialogue
This looks promising with cast & sets & wardrobe but I certainly hope the actress playing Mrs. Russell (Carrie Coons) settles into her role, slows down with her dialogue and adds better diction.
She may very well be nervous.
Every other actor seems suited for his/her part.
Excited to see how this series unfolds.
Locked Down (2021)
True Pandemic Movie
Witty dialogue; clever plot; dark comedy.
Relatable emotions during a lockdown.
Blue Bloods (2010)
Great Moral Values
I never miss an episode; love the characters/actors who always do the right thing. And I love that they always have family meals & pray together. We so need to see that in today's culture.
Deputy: 10-8 Entitlements (2020)
Disappointed
Really was enjoying this series until the last couple of episodes. Does every show have to have gay/trans stuff?!?!? Enough already!!!
The Favourite (2018)
Bizarre
What should be an historical themed film contains foul language, bizarre dancing, and gay scenes. We're talking England, home of noble and honorable conduct.
Why must Hollywood poison our entertainment?
The Romanoffs (2018)
Travesty
While one can appreciate the acting these story lines insult the Family and drag their name through the mud. There were only 2 episodes worth watching. Pure Hollywood crap.
