Magicians (2007)
Didn't even get to the end
My wife decided to rent this film as she is a fan of "Peek show" and "Mitchel and Webb".
Neither of us completed the film, we were bored from start to finish (or in our case the middle), the attempts at humour were obvious, there were jokes which were just crude and not funny (this comes from someone who watches South Park!)
Wouldn't recommend this film to anyone unless they are hardcore Mitchell and Webb fans.
It is a shame to see the British market produce such a low grade comedy, this film really dropped my opinion of the two main cast members, and i feel ashamed as people in other countries will just think it is British awkward humour, lets get another Simon Pegg comedy out there quick to make up for this pap.
Uwe Boll could of done a better job!
Merlin (2008)
Kills the time
I guess this version of Merlin the all powerful magical wimpish man slave could be entertaining for Children, hell i like to clear my hangover with this on a Sunday morning, but if i was to miss it i wouldn't care less.
The acting seems painful, Anthony Head seems forced into his lines, the young leads look fresh from Grange Hill before it was cancelled, and Richard Wilson appears as serious as he did in One Foot in the Grave.
Overall horribly disappointing, seems to be swirling down the same drain as Doctor Who is (please god let the Xmas special be good), Although not sure which is better this or that Robin Hood one the BBC did.
If you want a good Merlin watch "The sword in the Stone" the effects are a lot more believable.
