Thank God for the Writer's Strike
20 July 2008
I read Joss Whedon and his brother's were bored during the Writer's Strike last season and came up with the idea for Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. All I can say is at least one phenomenal thing came out of that strike! This three part comedy/drama with music is the most entertaining thing I've seen all summer. Neil Patrick Harris is absolutely inspired as the not so horrible, Dr. Horrible. Nathan Fillion is as adorable as ever as Captain Hammer, but he gets to reach in and find some shallowness too. This is fifty minutes, when you put all three parts together, of silliness, twists and turns, all with a soundtrack. It's only free online until July 20th, then you have to buy it. But the season pass at iTunes is only $3.99 and it is well worth the money. I highly recommend this for anyone who loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer's musical episode, who loves Joss Whedon or Neil Patrick Harris.

So much better than the new one
20 June 2006
The Pink Panther Srikes Again is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The Pink Panther 2006 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Rent Strikes Again instead and enjoy humor that is not forced or faked. It's so brilliant mostly because of Peter Sellers, his believable and not forced delivery. I laughed until I cried. Herbert Lom was also perfection in this movie. Who could ever forget that crazy laugh? I miss Kato in the new versions also. When the French policeman came on as a poor Kato substitute in the 2006 film I was embarrassed for him. How painful the bad accents and bad acting must have been to endure. Beyonce was the worst. I give this movie 10 stars not only because it is the funniest thing I have ever seen, but because it is so much better than the Steve Martin version. Strikes Again is a classic. 2006 Panther is a disgrace.

The right love story
30 April 2006
I really love this movie. I thought of this movie the other day while reading on another site postings from individuals who think Brokeback Mountain is the first gay love story. No it isn't, this movie is and it is truly a sweet, wonderful story of true romance and commitment. I was one of the few people, I guess, who didn't like Brokeback Mountain because I didn't think it was a romance or a love story, but rather a soap opera depicting Gay love as sordid and violent. I feel that movie goes against what all my gay friends have always told me, that for them just like for heterosexuals, it is about love and finding the right life partner. I find this wonderfully romantic story a great way to express this to the world. This is a great movie.
