Sesame Street Jam: A Musical Celebration (1993)
Nostalgia at its finest!
I would watch this throughout my early years and sometimes still on occasion! It's packed with some of the most well known songs from the show, plus a few that some people don't remember. As fun and entertaining as it is, there may be a few things that will give your child a feeling of fear or uneasiness (some moments of close up faces, pitch black backgrounds and transitions) for me, it was the three monsters that wiggled around to a few offscreen voices. Another thing that is key is the lack of Elmo! He only appears for around 9 minutes if you put together his appearance in the En Vogue song, short cameo in the Rubber Duckie montage, his solo, Happy Tappin With Elmo and the finale. All the songs are broken down into sections and also some lines are segues into the songs. The finale (Sing) is one of, if not, THE BEST ENDING TO A SESAME STREET VIDEO EVER!!! It's a new, beautiful arrangement but unfortunately, not all the characters get solos (Although sometimes when a character is on screen for that number, their voice can be heard) that version of Sing always pulls on my heartstrings as it reminds me of a time when I was a happy baby, watching this and smiling! I love this video with all my heart and I hope future generations of children will love it too.
Cats (2019)
Probably the worst thing in the world (there is worse but this is on the tier list)
I saw this the day it came out in theatres and wanted to kill myself the second the ended. I am a huge fan of the stage version and I would sell a limb to be in a production but the film was so terrible! At the time, I wanted Cats to have more recognition and this wasn't the way i wanted it to be! If you wanna make a film version of an already established thing, make a person who loves and knows the show well direct it! I'm so glad Andrew Lloyd Webber hated it! It's an abomination of a film! They miscast actors, they butchered all the songs and the whole film just lost the charm the musical had (except for Skimbleshanks) and the ones who actually enjoyed this terrible movie deserve to to bullied!
The Wiggles: Fruit Salad TV (2021)
Hard to watch
Ok, hear me out, I LOVE The Wiggles! But I don't like the whole idea of the series! I mean, 8 Wiggles is an eyesore for me! And the writing is bad! They almost rhymed everything! I get what they're trying to do but do it in a way that will not bother people! I'm so glad this is an on and off thing and not basically forever! I'm very conservative when it comes to entertainment! I like when things are kept as what they are!
