School Spirits: Madison's Body (2023)
Cheap mystery
I went into this with extremely low expectations and yet I was still somehow disappointed. I thought I was watching a fun little murder mystery, but oh no, we're all now gonna put our high school "spirits" together and fight this big bad evil together, and Maddie's "spirit" is gonna get back into her body so she can finally kiss Simon, and she can go patch things up with her mom and tell her that she forgives her, and then go and have some bff moment with Nicole, and they can all live happily ever after (I probably forgot a few other "feel-good" outcomes that will undoubtedly be very pleasing to the viewes).
Adding shock value and surprises is not hard when the writers can just literally change the rules in the last 10 mins of the show. Of course nobody saw it coming. How can you see it coming when it's literally out of the realm of possibility until the writers decide to change the entire scope? How is there any value in that?
A great mystery is one that sticks to its own rules and yet shocks you to your bone. One that makes you realize it was right there in front of you all along and yet you couldn't see it.
The show had some nice cinematography though. I'll give em that.
The Flash: It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To (2023)
I don't even know what to say...
I'm honestly really surprised by these ratings. This episode was just full-on fan service. Is that really how low the bar has come? I guess so. An episode that is filled with plot holes, cliches, bad writing and bad acting gets this high of a rating simply because it was made with the sole purpose of pleasing the fans. I would think that people aren't that gullible but I guess I sometimes overestimate the fanbase of these CW shows.
I'm just glad that it's coming to an end. I still watch these arrowverse shows simply because I have a lot of good memories with them during their early years when they were actually good. I honestly wish that I could have stopped watching them a long time ago but I just couldn't. So, I'm looking forward to being done with them.
The Flash: The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2 (2023)
I'm dumbfounded!
I really wish the early years of the Flash were also this bad because now, every single year, I come back and watch the new season and I hate myself for it. I really wish I hadn't wasted so many hours and years of my life on these pathetic CW shows. It feels like the only viewers they have left at this point are people who have settled for mediocrity or just people who are simply stupid. There is not a single thing left in this show that is made for someone with at least an ounce of brain.
Also, I know that the bar is really low for actors in these CW shows, but wow, the actress that plays the Red Death is just next level. That has to be some of the worst acting I've seen in my life. I mean honestly, where do they find these people?
The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023)
Beautifully recreated from the game
I genuinely do not understand all the negative reviews. You people that are saying this episode was "boring" and had "bad writing" and did not advance the plot or develop the characters in any way, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. You obviously do not understand any aspects or values of filmmaking. You should just go watch the Walking Dead or Stranger Things or something. You'll get all the big "awesome" monster stuff with a lot of "cool" action and some "great" chase scenes. That's clearly all your brain can comprehend.
This episode was probably the one closest to the game (btw I have no problem with changes), and I thought they did an excellent job recreating it for tv.
What else can I say? Great writing, great directing, excellent acting, beautiful cinematography, fantastic set design, great dialog (very similar to the game as well), etc.
Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback (2022)
Worst 2.5 hours of my life
Two and a half hours for that? Seriously??!!
I'm not even surprised at this point. I don't really take Stranger Things seriously. It's one of the most overrated shows I've ever seen. However, I was a bit more optimistic this time cuz I actually thought this season was decent and I really liked what they did with Vecna. But of course that was all ruined by this weird drawn out finale. I mean let's be honest. None of us are really expecting incredible writing or acting or cinematography or anything like that from Stranger Things. But for a show that's supposed to be all about excitement and thrillers, this was an extremely boring dragged out finale that had me shaking my head the whole time.
I'm not even gonna talk about the acting, considering the main cast consists of a bunch of kids.
I cannot remember seeing worse plot armor than this, ever! How do u create such a viscous, powerful, and fearsome villain that somehow ends up not killing any of the main characters? The plot armor is INSANE!!! Like what the hell is this thing with Max???!! So the whole 4 gates thing. It happens cuz Max dies. But oh wait a minute. She's actually not dead. Cuz Eleven can now resurrect people. Like what???!!! Are you really that afraid to kill one of your main characters? How do these people call themselves writers? I don't understand.
Ughhh!! The plot holes. The plot armor. The stupidity. It is beyond belief how overrated this show is. I guess as long as you make something that has any sort of connection to the 70s, people will just suck it up like there's no tomorrow.
Stranger Things: Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab (2022)
Much better than I was expecting!
Ok, this was a great episode. It was done very well, from every aspect. Even the cinematography was pretty decent; something that I wouldn't really expect from a show like Stranger Things.
I'm not the biggest fan of this show, but overall, this season has been pretty good so far. I've really liked the whole storyline of the season. Although I will say that the episodes are a bit too long. I feel like there's just a lot of unnecessary stuff included in the episodes purely for fan service.
The biggest negative: I don't really understand the purpose of the whole Russian prison break plot. It felt out of place, predictable, dragged out, irrelevant, and outright boring. I guess it was just more fan service for the Hopper fans. I couldn't care less about it.
But the most annoying thing of all, why release the last 2 episodes a month later? Why??!! I genuinely don't understand why Netflix has been doing this with their shows lately. It really takes a lot away from the shows. They're literally destroying the one advantage that they've always had against other networks. It's been a long time since I saw Netflix make a right move.
Anyway, by doing this, they're building up a lot of excitement and high expectations. So I really hope they can back it up. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Fear the Walking Dead: In Dreams (2021)
Why???!!!!
Why is there a whole episode dedicated to a character that nobody cares about? A character that's been in like 3 episodes.
I can never understand why these dumbass writers keep doing these garbage hallucination/dream episodes. Especially when it's literally dedicated to a character that is completely irrelevant.
Might as well finish this season. But after that, I'm just done.
Fear the Walking Dead: The Door (2021)
I guess this is just what TWD and FTWD do now. It's all they've got!
Just introduce a new character, keep em around for a couple seasons, develop that character and then kill em off for shock value. Well done!
Just bring some dumb little girsl into the show, make them kill some of the best characters of the show, and then force us to keep watching those dumb little girls. What a great idea. Absolutely revolutionary writing right there.
This show is running out of interesting characters and they don't exactly have a lot of good actors but John was a great character and Dillahunt was a fantastic actor. He produced some excellent acting out of absolutely garbage writing. But let's just kill him off and keep the garbage ones in the show. Fantastic idea!
There's just nothing interesting about these shows anymore. No plot, no direction, no real story. Just bring some new characters, kill some characters for shock value, bring some bad guy for everyone to hate, kill off the bad guy. Rinse & repeat. It's the same SH** every year. I'm done.
Fear the Walking Dead: Channel 5 (2019)
I think I've had it with this whole "helping people" nonsense!
All the years of me making fun of people that watch soap operas, and here I am watching a soap opera. What has happened to the universe?!
15 episodes of people saying that we help other people.
We get it. You wanna frigging help people!
The Walking Dead: Stalker (2020)
So Dante pulled off a Shawshank?!
So many dumb things happening. This show has become a joke. They should just change the genre to Comedy.
Also, Alpha has got to be the most boring villain of all time! I cannot believe that they made her and her dumbass goons the center of this show for 2 whole seasons.
The Walking Dead: Squeeze (2020)
Do people really think this is good?
What was the point of this long, boring, dragged out episode? What is the point of this show now? Why am I still watching it? Every year, when the new season comes on Netflix, I somehow end up watching it just because I loved it during its first few seasons and I have a lot of good memories with it. Every time I watch the new season, I have to suffer through it and end up regretting it.
I'm genuinely amazed of how many good reviews this episode had. I'm sorry but if you actually thought this was good, there's something wrong with you. If you genuinely believe that this show is still good, then I don't know what to tell ya.
The Witcher: Family (2021)
What was the point of season 2?!
I've never read the books or played the games, and that's the problem. The show by itself isn't good enough to get you interested in the world of the Witcher. It's so hard to care about the characters when they have no chemistry. I genuinely could not care for any of the characters.
Season 1 was okay. Season 2 was just completely pointless. The first episode was actually quite good and it kinda got me excited for the rest. But everything after that was just a complete waste of time. This season didn't have a lot of action, which is totally fine by me, but due to the terrible writing and the lack of chemistry between the characters, I found myself absolutely bored out of my mind all through the season. I mean honestly, what exactly was the point of this season? 8 hours just to set things up for next season?
I can't believe some people actually compare this show to Game of Thrones. They're either totally insane, or they just haven't watched Game of Thrones.
From what I've always heard about the books and the games, I knew that there was a lot of potential for this show but the show-runners clearly have no idea what they're doing, so I don't really have any hope for this show anymore, and I'm not expecting much from here on out.
The Flash: Central City Strong (2021)
Barry "The Motivational Speaker" Allen
This show is just dead. It used to be so exciting and fun to watch. The acction scenes were fast paced and awesome. But let's just throw all that away. Let's just talk and bore the villains to death. Great idea. So entertaining.
Westworld: Crisis Theory (2020)
What just happened?!
If the show had this kind of style from the beginning, I wouldn't have had a problem with it. Hell season 3 on its own wasn't that bad. It was a decent watch. In fact, this is how sci-fi is supposed to be done. But that's the problem. Westworld was more than just a sci-fi. Season 1 brought one of the most unique, most creative, and most intelligent shows I have ever seen. It became an instant favorite for me. Season 2 wasn't as good as 1 but it tried. There was still hope. I have no idea what season 3 was. It's like the creators completely forgot the first 2 seasons and just created a new show.
It was always gonna be hard to follow what season 1 achieved. In fact, ever since it came out, I was always skeptical of what would come next. I wasn't sure how they could continue that greatness but hell I didn't expect this in a million years. I have never seen such a massive change of identity in a show. Especially in the space of just one season.
I've always admired Jonathan Nolan's work and that's why I'll keep watching this show. I actually am looking forward to seeing what he'll do next. Cuz again, I don't think that this is suddenly a bad show. It's just not Westworld anymore, and I guees we just have to make our peace with that.
Person of Interest (2011)
This is how it's done!
The most underrated show I have ever watched. Truly amazing. Still to this day, I don't understand how this show isn't as big as it should be. It does everything so well. A lot of the writers out there can learn a thing or two from this show.
The 100: The Last War (2020)
So much potential...
Wow! That was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in my life. Honestly, even the GOT finale wasn't this bad.
The sad thing is that this show had so much potential right from the beginning till the end. This ending could have actually worked but it just didn't. It felt so rushed and didn't make sense.
This whole season felt so out of place. Nothing made sense. So many stupid pointless stuff happening. So much filler garbage that nobody cared about. So many plot holes. Such bad writing. It's like the show completed changed its identity in one season.
Yep! This was the worst final season I've ever watched. Worse than GOT, worse than Lost, worse than Dexter. And it's sad. It's really sad. Even though the writing was always bad, I still loved this show. Because of its story and its characters. I've watched a lot of stuff but the story of the 100 always felt truly unique to me. It felt special. And now it's just ruined. It's a shame. I'll always try to remember this show for its first 5 seasons and its amazing and weird characters. U gave us some great memories.
May we meet again...
Arrow: Underneath (2017)
The worst episode ever!!!!
What the hell was that? are you freaking kidding me? I literally hate myself for wasting so much time on this show. I really thought that season 5 could be different. That maybe they could make this show great again but they just keep making it worse and worse. I wasn't quite sure before but this episode made me realize that there's no hope left for arrow. It was literally the most boring episode of any show that I have ever watched. The stupidest conversations and arguments between John and Lyla. The stupidest and most ridiculous conversations between Oliver and Felicity, Just saying a bunch of crap about trust. I am so done with arrow
