Americanish (2021)
Mixing culture with religion.
I just finished watching this movie and it really shows the negative side of this South Asian culture. I'm not a Pakistani but of Bangladeshi decent. First thing is first, Religion is number 1 the rest is whatever it is. What I see I this movie how they try and mix their culture with religion... It's gotta be one or the other, not both. It really does show a side of Islam which isn't but mainly what the South Asian culture is all about. Seeing South Asian being very independent is a very rare thing but becoming more and more common these days. First the girl was all over the guy and drooling all over for him and then suddenly she doesn't have any interest in him when she wouldn't stay behind for him. Make up your mind man. To be honest, that's how society has gone these days. This movie shows such negative side to South Asian culture, and it is just embarrassing to see. I'm very western minded by all means but at the same time, I know my roots and will never forget that. You need to show respect for your culture even tho you might not agree with it. Our parents came from the slums and raised us in the western world. The least we can do is show respect and stay silent even tho we don't agree with most it. If our parent didn't immigrate, we would be in some small village somewhere in South Asia to try and get some rice and water to feed the family by working for £100 a month to feed the whole family. Islam isn't just for South Asia, it is for everyone in this work!!!
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
Easy watch and entertaining
I just like the whole vibe. Brought back a lot of memories of the old ones. The only downfall I will give is that it had too many characters and should've just kept the same cast as Afterlife but I can live with that and the should've shown the transition of moving one city to another. Apart from that, everything was great and enjoyed all the cast. I hope they make another one. I like watching these types of movies because you can zone out and it isn't too much to think about. I was getting the feeling that the young lady was into women but I hope they don't go down that route if there is another part. Overall, well worth it in my opinion.
Rebel Moon - Chapter One: Chalice of Blood (2023)
Loved every minute of it!!!
I don't get what people are complaining about. It's a fantasy... why are people moaning!! This movie was brilliant. It kept me entertained from the very first minute... You get people who loved Oppenheimer which I thought was absolute garbage, and wanted to fall asleep. When I watch a movie, I just wanna zone out and this movie definitely zoned me out that's for sure. The actions and the soundtrack was on point. I wish I could see this movie in IMAX. It annoys me when I see people give boring movies like Joker rave reviews but this gets slated. This kept me entertained!!!! Loved it!!!! If you love action and special effects then this is for you.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
What I expected and was not disappointed.
I knew before watching this that it would be one of those slow burner watch as it's the 3rd of the 5 instalment. It's just building each characters and what they are about. I love it. It zones me out and keeps me entertained. Jude Law plays his role perfectly and as for Eddie Redmayne... His character just gets better and better as the movies come along. This movie is dark compared to the first two but still has humorous moments. I could've sat there for another 2 hours and still wouldn't get bored of this movie. Ladies and Gents, please don't forget, this is only a fantasy movie. Don't look to into the details but imagine you was in this fantasy world.
Mortal Kombat (2021)
Straight into the action!!
Don't listen to those negative reviews. This is a typical video game movie. I really don't know what these people expect...! It's exactly how the movie should be made. From the word go, the movie went straight into the action. Loved it. Kung Lao was awesome. The main character in this movie tho is Sub-Zero. He was in the heart on everything. Guys it was an easy and entertaining watch. I can't wait for the sequel now. I am sure it will only get better.
It can't be like the 4 hours Justice League movie and give a story for every character. It doesn't have the budget for it. They made the movie to the best of its budget. I don't understand those moaning guys who give it a bad review. It's not an MCU movie or from a comic book for god sake. Its based on a video game for crying out loud. You can make up the story as much as you want with a few twist and turns. This was definitely worth a watch 100%.
We have been in a pandemic for over a year now and people still are not satisfied. It's definitely the best movie I have seen since the pandemic started.
Don't forget... It's only a fantasy. It's ok for the MCU characters to have special powers but not the Mortal Kombat characters? Get with it people. It's done the best as it could!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Just watched the Ultimate Version, it makes more sense.
I loved this movie when I see it at the cinemas back in March 2016. Now seeing the extended version, I love it even more. It makes more sense. Ben Affleck is brilliant as Batman. I loved the way he said to Clark Kent "Son", that really showed the Batman who's been fighting the criminal of Gotham for 20 years. Why are people even bothered about this "Martha" story, they both have mothers that go by that name so why not use if they are in a battle trying to kill one another. This movie was dark, it was violent, it's just the way it should be. I just didn't want this movie to end. I think I'll be watching this again sometime in the future for sure.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Storyline shambles...
I was waiting for the moment when Finn wanted to say something to Rey????
Come on, when did they start bringing people back to life...
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
Forget what the critics have to say, LOVED IT and I watched it twice already.
I really can't understand the hate towards this movie. From start to finish it was good. I don't wanna give too much away. The fights scenes was very good. The soundtrack in this was also very good, it fits right in but then again it was Hans Zimmer who did the score so that was no surprise. Don't listen to what the critics had to say. You judge for yourself. Apocalypse was a disaster by the critics but again I enjoyed that also. I don't know what people expect in an X-Men movie. I really hope they keep the same characters for the next X-Men movies to come. Anyway I loved it and I think you guys will also. I watched it the first day it came out, and after a couple of days later, I had the itch to watch it again, that's how much I enjoyed this movie. I gave it a 10/10 because of all the unnecessary bad review it was getting. Those critics need a good hiding.
