Jack Ryan (2018–2023)
4/10
Don't make Jack sad, you wouldn't like him when he is sad
31 August 2018
This is a slightly okay, middling effort with a non stop pouting Jack. The story arc over 8 episodes is bested by many decent one episode stories on TV. You also really won't find anything new here - except the butchering of Greer's back story. Cliches are abundant here, as is the disappointment. The best thing that can be said about this show is that it finishes its story. Somewhat amazingly, and perhaps desperately due to netflix, Jack Ryan was renewed for a 2nd season before the show even premiered. No one should get upset if it ends up not happening.

almost a modern classic

This is one of those movies where you walk in thinking it won't be much but then you get blown away. this is a movie for entertainment's sake, no preaching and nothing else, just a great piece of fun. highly recommended, and unlike a lot of titles, the positive reviews here are the real deal. watch this movie!

It is Okay
16 August 2018
This movie is pretty much a well worn tale, and low budget. There had been many movies with higher budgets, that with better marketing, were hugely profitable. If you are time constrained, yea, this is probably not a movie to see. However, it is not a bad watch, is okay, and beats quite a few higher rated flicks. This will not blow your mind by any means, but it entertains. Shrugs to the ppl complaining about acting, which is fine in an okay way.

How It Ends (2018)

tough to review since netflix
16 August 2018
I love sci fi, probably more than most, so you can take my review with a grain of salt. With that said, while I love how NetFlix keeps going full steam ahead on sci fi, ffs this is predictable. This is one of those movies where one of the main characters tries to prove over and over how dumb he is. On the other hand it was nice to see Forest Whitaker have a stout performance after several years of horrible performances. I dont know though, if this was something that was a theater release, I might have dropped a star or two. It is frustrating to see a movie that has a fairly large budget be so incredibly predictable.

I feel like a victim having been talked into seeing this
16 August 2018
The positive reviews here are fake, as are the upvotes on "found this helpful". This is a painfully awful watch, and I truly feel sorry for those likewise seeing it. This was described to me as mystery/thriller.... It is propaganda and activism. it has some good actors in it, I'll give it that, although Abby is not one of them and she is laughably bad. The whole writer&director thing is a hard thing to pull off, and David Riker fails here as many have. Then of course there is the whole bit about this morality tale being at all realistic - hint: it is not. If you must see this movie, watch the trailer before hand so at least you will know how much to self medicate.

One of the worst movies in recent memory

The only thing positive I have to say about this movie is that it is a good test of your mettle if you can make it the whole way thru. As most of the real reviews say, this movie is Awful. There is no way it would have above a 2 with only real ratings.

Corey Feldman as Queeny is just absurd. Whoever thought this casting and or idea as a main villain should be sent into exile on a small island.

If this were a drinking game, and people just had to take a shot every time they wanted to turn it off, most people would die within 45 minutes from the overload.

This movie was great

No, it is not a classic, but for a movie that you would watch once, maybe twice, it is a very solid outing. Considering all the things going against, foremost being a horror, it was an amazing commercial success nonetheless. Do not let the Debbie Downers fool you, this movie is worth watching, and the cast is great. I would write more, but many others that rate this highly are more eloquent than I. Follow the opinions of the high raters more than the haters on this one!

Should have been title "The Final Fail"
1 April 2018
When a train wreck presidency runs into sycophant camera team, failure is not surprising. This is no where close to anything anyone would label "in depth", rather this is a shallow accounting. The only thing one can conclude from watching this is that the documentary team was more interested in cheerleading.

Just Don't

A bright spot here or there, but not worth your time to watch. I would write a longer review, but want to lead by example; the time you spend reading this should be equal to or lesser than the time you spend watching this show.

doesnt deserve a high ranking even graded on an indie curve
11 February 2018
It starts off watchable, albeit dull. When the low budget sfx for the outside of the ship and space look superior in realism to the inside of the ship, it is not hard to imagine that is only the beginning of the problems. I like sci fi movies, and I take the leap of the parameters they set up. This movie, though, just gets moronic. There are way too many times were this future spaceship doesn't even have the same obvious tech that was present a long time before today. Then, in the last 15 minutes or so, the movie just collapses at it tries to get the ending it wants when it had already painted itself into a different corner.

warning: causes nausea
19 January 2018
I really wanted this movie to be good. I saw the cast ahead of watching, and 5 minutes in I thought it still might be good. After the intro asking for a donation, I was ready to make a donation even if I didn't like the movie. Unfortunately, this is not something just not to like, this is detestable. This is like being on a cruise than makes everyone sickly to point of near death, and then being forced to watch 12 yr old's give a lecture on religion. Writers are too undervalued.

OK for a NetFlix film?
14 November 2017
It is nice that they spend so much on original content but they really need to up the budget for the people that greenlight these things. This movie is borderline Conan the Gunslinger, and has annoying narration throughout. The plot is OK, the production quality is fairly decent, even though the CGI gunshots are obvious. The dialogue, however, is very weak, and the acting not much better. I am have no idea why some other reviewers are saying what a cruel, violent, yet excellent and amazing movie it is. It is not like that - think of it and above average SyFy movie with a better than average budget.
