High quality in every aspect. Great actors, scenery, poetry, music, everything. Hard to believe every review on here isn't fantastic. Yes it's a musical but a very good one. As someone who never usually watches musicals I easily found my self enjoying this one. Such a deep story line with characters so well thought out. Every person is someone with a story of their own with a major role in the overall narrative. It's romantic, historical, witty, and beautiful. At two hours it's somehow felt short. As long as you just enjoy this for what it is and allow yourself to relax i have no doubts that it can be enjoyed by most individuals.

Fantastic, magical, real life problems

A boy in a struggling household gets in a fight with hit single mother and runs away. He ends up exploring a magical world that transforms his perspective on things. An island that keeps sinking needs the boys help. His struggle to save the island helps him become an adult. A very artistic way of representing the boys real life problems and the benefits he'll receive from his current real life struggles. The visuals are great. I was impressed by this story line. Addresses real life family issues. Very magical and lots of fun. Great messaging and plenty of excitement to keep a young person interested I absolutely recommend watching this with the family.

Everyone is such a critic. This movie won't change your life. You will not be amazed by the acting either. It's extremely entertaining anyways. First horror I seen that involved no weapons. Really original in a lot of ways. If you loved Halloween where mike myers would slowly follow his victims this movie is sort of like that. It's odd but I think this is definitely worth your time unless you're the type of person who really needs the best of the best drink a little and loosen up a bit and you'll enjoy it. It keeps you pretty amped. All in all it's a good movie if you need something exciting but are t looking for an action film.

Beautiful art, calm music, and great characters make this an easy watch for both the parents and kids. The movie brings out the beauty of the real world. It feels like a fantasy movie but pulls this off using the everyday beauty we find ourselves in on our beautiful planet. Very magical. I absolutely recommend this movie!!

More political than scary

If you're like me you loved Jordan Peeles first films. Unfortunately he is getting less and less good at the entertainment part of movies and ramping up the politics too much. I was so excited for this movie after watching the trailer. It looked like an excellent take of a classic. I expected to actually beat the original. Instead I had to sit through a lot of political statements with minor scary scenes inbetween. Political messages are everywhere you look and sometimes I just want to escape them. We hung in for about half the movie when I finally asked my wife what she thought. Man am I happy because she felt exactly the same and we were finally able to turn it off. We loved his movies so much that each one of us didn't want to disappoint the other. The story line to the movie has so many weird things to it. There's no excitement where you're trying to figure out the deeper story. It immediately gives you the how back story leaving the viewer almost nothing to unravel. Typically in a film like this it would turn to more of a gore horror but it misses the mark there as well. The scenes that are supposed to be scary are so predictable. The imagery is sub par. You will not get nightmares watching this that's for sure.

I absolutely love science. Every extremely dangerous thing scientists have warned us about has never been taken seriously. Not until millions die. I honestly didn't know it was a satire about global warming because I can think of about 20 other things this could be about. As someone who reads a lot of history as well the government response is absolutely spot on as well. We have horrible leadership and even your favorite presidents had cabinets filled with idiots. We choose our leaders based on popularity don't forget not ability. Just think of the most popular kids in school running the nation. If you like science and are tired of living in a society that only listens to it when it chooses to this is you movie. If you're tired of people still not taking coronavirus seriously this is your movie. If you like facts and go out of your way to learn them from accurate sources not YouTube this is your movie. Great job!!!!!

Using a mutt to get to a pure bred

Movie is all's bout Mariah Carey being perfect. She wants a pure bred dog. So the family uses a stray that of course is just a horrible dog compared to the pet shop dog. Nice messaging. Once Mariah proves herself because she still wanted a dog after having to deal with the uglier dog the father takes her to the pet shop to get the better dog. No joke. We are supposed to be moved to tears when she eventually lets a different girl take the pure bred instead of her taking it home. The parents then say I guess we'll just keep the mutt as if a pet isn't a responsibility but hey after being hated by everyone it's run away so maybe it'll turn up. Mariah wouldn't even let the dog sleep in a dog bed. Rather keep it in a shelf high up so the dog couldn't reach. Craziest movie I ever saw lol. If you want your dogs to hate shelter dogs and love pet shop dogs this is your gem.

Similar to the other reviews on here, this movie just drags on. More focused on tackling racism than providing a good scare. Feels like a poorly made knock off of some of the much better black horror films that came out in recent years. I'm surprised it's at 5 stars to be honest.

This movie brings our family to tears every time we watch it. Gordy changed my values towards animals. Adults on here giving it bad ratings don't get that this movie was made for kids. Kids absolutely love it. My kids friends ask to come over just to watch Gordy. One time I put on babe and Theodore (my child's best friend) called his mom to get picked up. Babe is an atrocity. Gordy is an adorable movie I love that they played on the Spanish word Gordo, because of this it is Disney's best movie for incorporating multiple racial cultures in a single film. My kid now knows how to speak Spanish.

This is a movie that's on it's own. It's not a horror. It's not really a comedy. Yet it's perfect if you're in the mood for either of those things. Great Halloween movie. Excellent movie if you want something different. It won't be the best movie you watched but it also won't be a waste of time. It's an excellent watch!!

The NEWSPAPER makes this gift headline news. If your I.Q is low enough to not see this as weird go ahead and watch. You should be just dumb enough to fall for his accent at this point.
