Torture of the Air
6 February 2024
Ever since I can remember, I've loved watching war movies. Used to be Sunday afternoon reruns of old black and white films. Then down to my fathers workshop to make another wooden gun. The love of war movies and series hasn't died, though I stopped making wooden guns and playing war.

Masters of the Air, would have to be one of the worst programmes I've tried to watch. I was truly defeated by episode 4. I had found time to watch this alone, but surrendered and mowed the lawns.

There is no character development.

The script is cringe worthy.

The fighter scenes are laughable.

So much stereotypical characters.

So, after 20 minutes of episode 4, I will never know how war ended thanks to this dribble. If this wins any awards, it will be a crime.

Personal best series of 2023
16 July 2023
Recommend to me by my TV review group and it didn't disappoint at all.

The story line was easy to follow even with the Irish accents. It started off with building up the characters and quickly developed the plot. The writing and directing was spot on. If only more series were like this.

Each episode had you hooked from the first scene to the last. The actor's were so believable and showed emotions I couldn't fault them. It is the first Belfast police drama I've watched and the way all the actors portrayed them was amazing. I'm sure they will have brilliant futures.

It had a great last few episodes and I wasn't disappointed with them.

Just need more series please. 10/10.

Not what you think
10 December 2022
I thought it would be a Office spinoff. Pleasantly surprised to find it's a romantic comedy. Real life comedy, not the canned laughter type. All the characters are brilliant, from Berlin to the bar staff, Ashley's friends to her mum. The main characters develop well. They are very believable, and act superbly.

The writing is top notch, up there with Rake and other great Australian programmes. And that's coming from a kiwi.

I think people will see a little of themselves in the characters.

Please tell me there will be a second series, we binged watched this and need to see what happens to Ashley and Flash.

I Came By (2022)

Great movie, had us on the edge of seat.

Was recommended this by a friend. Was about to cancel Netflix due to the amount of stale rubbish Hollywood style content on it.

First 30 minutes were fine, then it took off. Some good little frights, unexpected turns.

Loved the ending, not your usual walk into the sunset.

Good cast and direction.

Favourite movie of the year for wife and me.

I kept the review short because I never read what whatabe reviewers rave on about. Get to the point. It's hard enough to find something decent to watch, l without spending most of the night reading conflicting reviews. I don't review must, just the real good movies and TV shows.

Have I done the 600 characters yet?

The best TV show I've seen!
30 September 2020
Normally only watch British drama and comedy, but this is the second Australian show this year that has had me hooked. All the lead characters are developed, and add to the show equally. The acting is superb as is the writing. I don't want to watch the last season, trying to save it but it is is just too good. I challenge you to find any show as good.

How have I missed this!

Classic who done it, but done with a modern take. Great character development, some real nasty neighbours living here. The best British show I've seen in a long time, even if it is five years old. If you like Broadchurch and similar crime shows, you won't be disappointed. AAA+++

Beautiful European cars and the best dog.

Had heard this was coming out soon and was eagerly awaiting for it. Thought it would be great to watch with my wife and labrador. Was not disappointed. I did have to make a few excuses about hay-fever though. I have really enjoyed Kevin Costner after watching him in Yellowstone, one of my favourite shows of the year. He's the perfect voice for Enzo. All the other actors were great too. I love cars and they had some beauty's in this if its your thing.

As for Enzo, he deserves an award.

Excellent script and directing.

Grab the tissues and enjoy.

Terrible.

Unbelievable story line, terrible acting, more American corporate rubbish. Don't waste your time. There are 1000s of better crime shows out there. Think this is aimed at 13 year olds.

True story, but Disney series.

Drawn out Netflix series. There are much better crime series out there. 1989, did no one ever watch a crime show then and realise that they needed lawyers? Wikipedia was a better read of this miscarriage of justice and poor ladies plight. Next.

Suspenseful drama with great characters
8 June 2019
Wow, my first Dutch drama I've watched. Seen lots of Scandinavian crime shows and this is as good. Especially being a Netflix product. Loved the story, and the characters developed well along the way. Subtitles, but you will get used to it. Who would want to be an undercover cop? Not me.

Stunning war movie
24 March 2019
An interesting piece of cinema filmed in B&W about a private who takes on the role of a captain. I enjoyed the way his role played out and thought he was a great choice to play the part of the captain. I won't say much about the plot, but as a war movie fan, this rates in the top ten for me.

Based on true story.

I love British crime series and this was as good as anyone I've seen. Martin played the lead role and was a fantastic, with the close support roles equally as good. Watched it all in one sitting, three episodes was perfect for telling this story.
