THE BEST MARVEL MOVIE EVER!!! (Spoiler alert)
19 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I had high hopes for this movie and for the most part it delivered. There are minor issues that I will share later but I want to begin with the positives first. This movie pays tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a unique way by going back in time to different periods that took place in the MCU. All of the actors are great in their roles and deliver awesome performances. The music by Alan Silvestri is top notch and iconic especially the score Portals when every returns and unites for a showdown with Thanos. This movie made me sob when Iron Man gives his life to save the universe. Such a powerful and emotional moment. The action scenes are great and well-choreographed. The special effects are amazing and well-done. However, there are some things that I have issues with. First, I do not like how the movie handled Hulk. It was interesting to make Bruce Banner and Hulk merge together but they only used him as a joke and didn't really take it anywhere. Also, I wish they didn't try so hard to make Fat Thor so funny. This is a man who just lost and has gone through so much and all they can do is make a joke out of him? Other than that I loved this movie and I believe that it deserves the praise that it has garnered.

Man of Steel (2013)
8/10
One of the most criminally underrated superhero movies of all time
4 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I will defend this movie forever. Does it have flaws? Yes. Does it seem a little darker than necessary? Perhaps. But it's unique take on the Superman legend is fresh and adds a layer of humanity to the character. Man of Steel is the adaptation of the iconic DC Comic Superhero and tells the story of how he came to be. One thing that people should know is that Henry Cavill isn't trying to be the Christopher Reeve Superman that we all know and love. He is portraying this man who is still finding his place in the world and learning to embrace his calling as Earth's protector. Amy Adams co-stars as Lois Lane who does an excellent job capturing the tenacity and spunk of Lois. Michael Shannon does an awesome job as the main protagonist General Zod and doesn't portray him as a straight-up bad guy but someone who thinks he is doing the right thing. Antje Traue steals the spotlight as the badass female soldier Faora who is one of the coolest female villains in my opinion. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane portray Superman's adopted parents and do an admirable job. Russell Crowe and Aylet Zurer portray Superman's biological parents and are great in their limited screen time. Finally Laurence Fishburne as Perry White is good despite not having a lot of screen time. The movie has excellent special effects and the music is one of Hans Summer's best work. I do admit that the cinematography of the movie is a little bleak and there are some moments that are less than good but overall this movie is fun.

Not A Perfect Film But Very Enjoyable
10 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I wouldn't rank this movie at the top of my Marvel movie list but it was by no means bad. There are just parts of this movie that I didn't think were great. Chief among them was making Ultron a humorous villain. Now there were moments when Ultron was intimidating maybe even scary but overall in the film he spent of his time on screen just talking and spouting one-liners. The Acting was great and the special effects were top-notch.

BEST MARVEL MOVIE EVER??!!
10 August 2018
Where do I even begin? Avengers Infinity War is one of the best if not THE BEST Marvel movie that I have ever seen. Everything in this movie was excellent from the acting and action to the special effects and music. Josh Brolin nailed his performance as Thanos and gives one of the best supervillain portrayals.

Best Mission Yet! (SPOILERS!!!)
30 July 2018
Where do I even begin? The stakes in this film definitely seemed higher and the action was amped up to overdrive. The familiar characters were great but it was the addition of Henry Cavil as CIA operative August Walker who stole the show. He brought humor and intimidation to his role. The stunts were so dangerous that my mom flinched during every one.

Stupid Show That Recognizes It's Stupidity
23 July 2018
I hate this show but I realize that the jokes are cheesy because it is geared towards little children. Let's face it. More cartoon shows these days are aimed towards little children and don't contain the more mature themes.

Best Marvel Movie Ever?
5 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Before I begin, there will be spoilers so you have been warned. Avengers: Infinity War directed by the Russo Brothers who also directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War is in my opinion not only the best Marvel movie ever but quite possibly one of the best superhero movies that I have ever seen. It has everything you can possibly want from a superhero film: high stakes, great action scenes, great acting, splendid dialogue, awesome special effects, and funny humor. The cast was great in this film but the star was 100% Josh Brolin as Thanos. He is hands down the best MCU villain and I know a lot of people have said that but I honestly believe this. First I want to talk about the overall scope of the film. This movie takes you to many places including Wakanda, Titan which is Thanos' home planet, New York, and other realms including Nidavellir. There are so many things that happen in the film with so many characters and I am impressed at how well the Russo Brothers manages to balance it. As Thanos quite put it, "Balanced as all things should be." Next, the characters. I was a little disappointed when certain characters didn't get to meet other characters and I am hoping that they get to meet in the next movie. However, the best performance in this film is Josh Brolin as Thanos himself. He is one of the best movie villains I have ever seen. He had a good motivation though how he carried it out was flawed and he was not evil for the sake of being the villain. He wanted to help the world but in his own twisted way. The other characters were great in this film. I loved Thor's interaction with the Guardians of The Galaxy. Thor might also be one of the best parts of the movie and he really developed as a character. All of the other characters had a chance to shine. Tom Holland as usual was great as Spider-Man but I will get to his performance later. The special effects were great. The different environments looked so awesome and even though some of it was CGI it still looked great. The Wakanda fight scene was one of the best uses of CGI. It didn't look too cheesy and it was grounded. Avengers: Infinity War has one of the best fight scenes which was the battle on Titan. I loved the Wakanda battle but the Titan fight scene just blew me away. As soon as I came home from watching the movie I went to Spotify and added the whole entire soundtrack to my playlist. I loved seeing Alan Silvestri return to score the film. The score from the first Avengers film is one of my favorite superhero movie scores. This one is slightly darker and gives a feeling of dread to the film as well as melancholy. I also love that he only uses the Avengers theme at appropriate times such as when Captain America appears out of the shadows or when Thor enters Wakanda (Which is one of the most epic entrances I've ever seen!!). The score "Even For You" is really emotional and I nearly cried listening to it. Finally, the death scenes. It is hard to choose which death made me the most sad. Oh who am I kidding? Obviously Spider-Man made me the most emotional but Groot and Loki were also sad. I kind of knew Gamora was going to die so that wasn't as sad but it still hurt me. Overall, the film was a masterpiece and told a great story and balanced so many characters in one movie. It also gave us a sympathetic villain and great fight scenes as well as great character arcs.

Pixar Does It Again
5 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
After a year of mediocre and horrible animated movies (I'm looking at you Emoji Movie) Disney And Pixar once again shows the others how to do it right and they knock this one right out of the park. Coco is a beautifully animated film with great music, a funny and emotional story, and excellent characters who you can relate to on an emotional level. Coco does a great job with family dynamics and character development. The most emotional scene for me is when Hector is singing "Remember Me" to his daughter Coco.

Dark Knight: The Citizen Kane of Superhero movies
19 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The Dark Knight isn't just one of the greatest comic book films. It is also one of the greatest movies of the modern era. It puts a dark and realistic twist on the Batman mythology and features one of the best casts in movies. The visual effects and cinematography are near-perfection. The acting was top notch and there many great moments in this movie such as the Joker's bank robbery in the beginning, the Bat pod- truck chase, the hospital scene, and Batman's interrogation of Joker. Christian Bale shines as the Dark Knight, although his Batman voice is really silly. Michael Caine does an amazing job as Alfred, portraying him as a mentor to Batman. Gary Oldman is excellent as Commissioner James Gordon who is driven to the edge. Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent is excellent and I love him even more when he turns into Two-Face. But then there's Heath Ledger as the Joker. This guy dedicated himself to the role and it shows. He nailed the persona of the Clown Prince of Crime and from the moment he walks into the room and stays the pencil into the guy's eye, I knew he was something different.
