The Flash: The Fury of Firestorm (2015)
The Flash Team; Anti-Heroes?
WARNING: SPOILERS!
I honestly have no idea how I feel about this episode. It was the most anti-hero episode ever, in my opinion.
Dr. Stein is dying because his molecules aren't stable. They have two potential recruits; Hewitt and Jax. Everyone in the Flash team except Barry supports of Hewitt, while Barry supports both of them, but is skeptical of Hewitt. At this point, I predicted the entire episode, Hewitt would not be compatible with Stein, he will get mad for Reason X, Jax will end up becoming a hero by combing with Stein and becoming Firestorm, the end. Turns out, that wasn't exactly how it went. I suspected Hewitt to be unnecessarily mad, that isn't how it went. AFter the failed attempt to bond with Stein, Hewitt's dormant abilities were triggered after the attempt to merge, therefore making him unstable and 'firey'. In my opinion, Hewitt had every right to be mad at The Flash Team, they literally ruined his life. He lost his job, he was arrested. Like, what the hell.. The Flash team were literally anti-heroes in this episode, they ruined Hewitt's life, they made him lose his job, he ended up being arrested, they burned Hewitt out, and then KEPT HIM CAPTIVE, and THE SHOW IS TRYING TO PORTRAY THEM AS HEROES! THEY AREN'T HEROES.
Anyways, aside from that, Patty and Barry's relationship grow stronger, Iris meets up with Francine and realizes that she doesn't want anything to do with her, which was a pleasant surprise at the end because I expected some cheesy scene, but I honestly give an applause to the writers for this.
Stein and Cisco talk about his powers, I liked this scene as well.
And the last scene at the end of the episode is probably one of the greatest scenes this season so far, don't want to spoil it, cheers everyone.
What I REALLY liked:
+ Iris's decision about Francine + The Last Scene of the Episode
What I REALLY disliked:
- The Flash Team being anti-heroes
7.9/10
The Flash: Family of Rogues (2015)
A VERY Overrated, Terrible Episode.
If I am being honest here, this is probably the worst episode of The Flash I have ever seen. It honestly just felt like a quickly written script with no review of the plot holes and just, in general, a REALLY terrible and unnecessary episode.
I am going to be writing spoilers as this episode as been out for a while, and I want to go step by step as to what I found to be, just really frustrating to watch.
The episode opens with a pretty epic scene between Iris and Barry where Iris is being shot at by real estate.. People.. Yeah. Anyways, admittedly this was a pretty cool scene. I am not going to nitpick stuff, this is a superhero show, so this scene was fine for me. Even though, it felt sudden, Iris just suddenly getting shot at by people and Barry being totally cool with it. I don't, it's been a long time since Season 1 and it felt weird that Barry was so cool with Iris putting her life out on the line, but I really don't care about that, that much.
Anyways, Golden Glider comes around, tells Cisco that her brother has been kidnapped.. Snart's not actually kidnapped, his father's pulling off a heist, he needed his son's help.. Unveiling of Snart's Father being abusive to his kids.
Anyways, father ends up killing someone from the crew. Here's when things get absolutely terrible. Father Snart ends up blowing tech guy's head up because he was talking rude to Son Snart. This honestly felt like an easy way for the writers to bring Barry in the crew, which he does in the future. Father Snart could have just ended up torturing him because before his head exploded, he felt immense pain in his head, no doubt NOT due to the explosion, because if it was the explosion, his head would have spontaneously combusted.
Later on we realise Sister Snart's head has a bomb. Barry joins the crew, Father Snart lets him in. This is what's weird: How were the Snarts were going to get in the Dracon Door if they didn't have a tech guy. Lewis didn't even tell Father Snart that he's hiring a tech guy to hack the dracon keypad. *Plot Hole*
Barry and The Snarts' go try to rob the diamonds, Cisco meanwhile finds an EX MACHINA WEAPON TO EXTRACT THE BOMB LIKE WHAT THE... HE pulled that gun out of nowhere. What's even more frustrating is that Barry didn't even need to DO all this, he could have just put his fancy suit on, trailed the Snarts' since Barry obviously know where they were located, stolen the trigger for the bomb, game over. BUT NOOO they just had to give you this new feeling that Barry was pulling off a heist when, in reality, the heist itself didn't make sense.
When the cards weren't working, there is not a single guard that would let three pretend to-be janitors go up when ALL OF THEIR CARDS ARE NOT WORKING by just saying 'What's the hold up guys, you wanna explain to management why the toilets are overflowing' LIKE WHAT. YOU Don't PULL OFF HEISTS THAT EASILY. They go up, see armed guards, and boom, Barry quickly takes the guards out so they don't get killed, like how did Father Snart not notice that the guards don't disappear out of nowhere, how was he not curious. Why didn't Barry just grab the trigger if he was using his powers anyway?
Aside from the heist and the story with Lewis, the rest of the episode was classic Flash episodes.
I am sorry this review is so vague, I just can't be bothered to write a more detailed review for this episode.
