The Time Machine (I Found at a Yardsale) (2011)
Best Movie Ever - Not to be Missed
Ok it isnt but if others can give bad movies high scores then this totally deserves 10 stars.
The movie had me laughing all the way through because it is everything a teaching aide in "Making Mistakes in Your First Movie" should be about. Because they make every single one and even some that no-one ever imagined.
The Little Things (2021)
Could have been better
It was OK and watchable but as soon as the Leto character is killed the movie drops off a cliff. There was no big build up.
I felt very disappointed because they could have really ramped up the tension to a great climax.
Beast of Burden (2018)
He Should Have Done Another Harry Potter Instead
This is one of the most rubbish, boring waste-of-time movies I have seen in a long time. You really don't care who may or may not die in this and you'll lose interest way before the end. The budget for this must have been bottom dollar. Total waste of time.
Radcliffe was great as Harry Potter and that is about the extent of his career. His acting since has been woeful and it doesn't get better here either.
The Martian (2015)
Watchable but no Thriller
I am a big fan of Ridley Scott. I am a big fan of Matt Damon. "The Martian" was always going to be a difficult translation from book to screen. Scott did a good job on the technical side and Damon earned his paycheck but I never really got emotionally involved with his character the way I did in the Bourne movies. There was no "wow" factor at any stage in the movie for me. I found it quite watchable but it was not riveting and it felt like "Apollo 13" just on a grander special effects scale. Rescue missions don't usually make for exciting entertainment for me even when as in "Apollo 13", it was based on a real event and this is just a work of fiction. It would have been better if whilst marooned on Mars Damon had found signs of alien life or something and this had opened up a thought-provoking line to follow. But it was following the book and as a result there are no real scares or shocks in this movie - just a guy and a NASA team overcoming technical problems one by one. As it is I can only give this a 5 and it disappoints me to have to do so because I am a big fan of most science fiction movies.
