Killer Advice (2021)
Slow burn movie that doesn't make sense
I've seen tons of LMN movies and this is honestly the worst of all so far. I usually suspend my disbelief when watching these but this is just too much. How is a therapist who has probably been working at the office for a while able to be killed and have her spot be taken by a woman that looks almost nothing like her? On top of that, no one questions it? And there was a news article the protagonist read that said the actual therapist, Marsha, was missing so her place of business already knew - or at least the general public. How is the villain able to just take her spot and start pretending to be a therapist? Does she have no superiors? Does no one talk to each other in that office enough to know that the villain wasn't the real Marsha?
But the most glaring issue I had with this movie is the absolute lack of motivation the villain had. While there are a lot of poorly made LMN movies, at the very least the villains have some sort of motivation most of the time that links to the protagonist somehow, like a jealous secret admirer, the former sweetheart of the protagonist's SO, an abandoned or orphaned child, etc. Even if it's not clear what the motivation is until the end, the viewer still gets context clues and other hints that let them realize what the villain's true intentions might be. But in this movie, Marsha had no motivation to want to hurt the protagonist. When the movie finally explained in the very last 10 minutes it was a poor excuse that just used mental illness as a cop-out for a real reason for her to be evil. Just "why am I doing this? Because I was diagnosed with narcissism, anger issues, anti-social disorder, etc...plus you're rich!"
I'm so sad I wasted 2 hours of my life on this movie. I could've used that time towards something productive, but instead, I am now 2 hours older and 2 hours closer to death and it wasn't even worth it.
Charmed: You Can't Touch This (2021)
Worst Episode So Far
This episode was just a straight up disjointed mess. It's just directionless pandering. I don't mind of when shows talks about inequalities. I actually like when shows manage to work such important topics into the plot. But this is just too forceful and so out of place out of nowhere. On one half the episode makes you wonder what is this magical force that is keeping them apart, and the strange monster. Then randomly "hey, let's talk about sexism and transphobia." No effort was made to try and blend it into the plot, it just felt like they wrote these topics in first and added the magic stuff as an afterthought. And it's not as if they hadn't done it well before. When they were introducing Abigail she talked about how she was trying to destroy the patriarchy in the demon society, which is something I could totally believe existing in the demon world if it existed. As for Macy, she was insufferable this episode. I truly don't care about Macy and Harry's relationship, and it took up all the good scenes that were about researching this magical force keeping them apart. But most importantly, they have no chemistry and their characters don't mesh well as a love interest. She fit so much better with the previous guy. Her character this whole episode just boils down to wanting to gey laid. This episode just felt like pure filler. It could've not existed and it probably wouldn't make any difference. This episode could've stayed in the drafts.
Comedy Knockout: Deep V (2017)
Worst Episode By Far
I watched a few episodes of this and dropped it. This episode was on in the middle of the night and my god this was torture. 100% because of Arden Myrin, and not just her terrible jokes. Her fake, high pitched, 5 minute long laughs are unbearable to listen to. The host said she was a returning champion - I can only assume the producers brought her back because they're huge masochists.
Top Secret Videos (2020)
This is painful
This show is a prime example of why you can't just take a woman and two men, have them commentate over videos and expect it to be a successful Ridiculousness clone. These "comedians" are so painfully unfunny that I didn't realize this was supposed to be a comedy show. The jokes are stale and the laughs are so obviously fake. It's hard to believe this is from the same network as Impractical Jokers. This show makes me want to call my cable company and demand a refund.
The Four: Battle for Stardom (2018)
Awful and Rigged
This show is just terrible. While it's alright to have a "Simon Cowell" of the show, at least one of the judges should be providing some sort of constructive criticism and none of them really do. The only judge there I actually like is Charlie Walk because he's the only level headed one there. Diddy and Khalid are foolish, and Megan is an unprofessional crybaby. The battle rounds aren't really fair because the challenger gets to go twice, and the votes are basically based on who hyped the crowd up the most. To top it off, it's rigged so Zhavia can win. All the other contestants are just sorta there while the show and judges hype her up despite being the one contestant who sings the least. They've tried to protect her against any singer that could possibly knock her out only because not only is she already signed to a label, but she's signed to the label that's collaborating with the show, making the fact that they're bringing her back unfair. The show has great talent but they're often thrown away for someone worst than them.
