The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
Cowardly finale makes the best season yet feel pointless
Once again, The Boys delivers a cowardly finale. How is it that a show that can be so bold is so scared to kill characters and have any stakes? This was a great season, the best one so far, but this finale makes the entire season feel pointless. It's like nothing happened.
Will they keep introducing one new random character every season while the Boys vs Homelander conflict never moves forward? Maybe by season 20 we'll get some conclusion to that story.
All the character actions feel forced, sacrifices make no sense and have no weight - it's not even actual sacrifices because the writers are too scared to punish the characters. Pathetic, really.
The Boys: Herogasm (2022)
Good episode, underwhelming Herogasm.
Is it a good episode? Yes, but as the Herogasm episode it's really underwhelming. All the hype built around how extreme this episode was and somehow the sexual content is tamer than a lot of what the show has done before, even back in season one.
It really feels like they forced the event into this season, even though it doesn't make sense narratively. It's still a good episode as far as the story goes. Some great moments and important things happened, although I think there's some questionable choices regarding some characters.
Star Wars: Visions: Akakiri (2021)
Great story and fantastic animation
Top 3 episodes of the show, the story of this one is absolutely great and it works superbly as a short story since it packs quite a punch with the amazing ending. The only bad thing about the episode is a somewhat disjointed pacing.
I disagree heavily with some of the reviews saying the animation isn't good, that's just a totally poor understanding of animation. The animation on this is one is gorgeous. It's highly stylized, but the drawing is really rich and the visuals are incredibly beautiful. Talking purely about animation quality this one is only behind "Lop & Ochô" and "The Village Bride".
Inconsistent show overall, especially the awful second episode, but it was worth watching for the best episodes and this was a fantastic one to end it.
The Boys: What I Know (2020)
Sold the soul of the show
Episode 7 was already a little all over the place but this is just really selling out I guess to not risk alienating anyone since this show is huge now. This finale was just so spineless and safe and uninteresing, especially with how it sets season 3, and you know what? Next season this might just turn into another generic superhero story.
Vought really always wins.
Support the Girls (2018)
Great film.
A lot of the low ratings/reviews here are people that didn't even watch the film, that 2/10 review is literally a troll review. Give the film a chance it's really great, especially if you like indies.
